  1. I didnt realise you were a SEAL !
  2. The excuse given by RM for the return to sender is that their sorting office read the senders details as the delivery address by mistake ? ! Lets see if it reaches me this time.
  3. Ive had other smaller stuff delivered this week like a fore grip etc but that comes as a letter in a jiffy bag with the ordinary postman. I wonder if there is a different routing in RM for parcels which normally is a separate van delivery to me and they are vetting contents. RM define restricted goods as: QUOTE Guns intended for sporting purposes - including Section 1 (e.g. hunting rifles) and Section 2 (e.g. shotguns) firearms, low-powered air weapons and their component parts - may be sent in compliance with UK law and subject to domestic controls on the possession of firearms. Antiques, deactivated and imitation firearms are also permitted. When sending deactivated firearms include proof of deactivation. Items that appear to be prohibited weapons may be subject to additional checks and delays. Please see www.royalmail.com/prohibitedgoods/business Use 1st Class as the minimum service. The senders name and address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging. UNQUOTE I wonder if they are interpreting component parts a little too enthusiatically ? It only needs some pencilneck to draft an email to all staff and it gives people an excuse to do even less work. "Computer says no" syndrome.
  4. Is there an issue with Royal Mail ? Some weeks ago I ordered a real steel bipod from an online retailer who sells outdoor and sporting goods. They claim they posted it by Royal Mail but failed to have tracking details. They refunded my Paypal and it has never turned up. Suspicious I thought but hey ho, got refunded. Bought a slightly different but still real steel bipod from a proper gunshop. They sent it by Royal Mail and gave me a tracking number. Didnt turn up after four days, so fearing it was lost, asked them to check it with RM. Apparently RM returned it to their shop today with no reason given. Shop has despatched it back to me today. What is going on ?
  5. If its the Vapextech one, its 7 cells and the max charging current is 3500ma so it looks okay to me.
  6. Most sites have a semi auto only rule for DMRs. Check that they will allow a three round burst ? ETA if you are talking about AWA, they dont seem to recognise AEG DMRs as such and limit for all AEGs is 360fps, irrespective of age ? unless you have a special agreement with Curly and co ?
  7. I have a G&G version of the EoTech and its fine in bright sunlight on the max setting. A killflash might help as it limits the light coming in.
  8. as long as the connectors and physical sizes are compatible with your guns, its a straight swop with the 7.4V LiPO. I have that charger and its difficult to know how charged the batteries are or how well balanced they are. Ive discovered that lipos dont like being kept fully charged all the time. They puff. I now only charge them up the night before use and keep them at around 50% charge using a battery monitor with the inexpensive charger you linked to. In hindsight I would have bought a better charger that has a digital readout to combine these functions. LiPO are superior, you just have to follow some simple rules. Always charge them in a fireproof bag in something like a metal ammo box half filled with sand, just in case of fire.
  9. Welcome back. I would imagine that Airsoft has grown a lot in that time and there is a much wider choice of guns, games and kit available now which makes it even more interesting.
  10. Dont fall for the stupid ranges that they quote on the PMR446 blurb. Its complete fiction in normal usage. Range really is only a couple of hundred metres and a lot of people have them at skirmishes so they are not secure. You only have eight channels to use - dont get misled by the silly number of code permutations quoted in the sales blurb.
  11. I have both the Motorolas and the Baofeng high power radios. The Motorolas are fine unless you want to talk across the length of the site.
  12. They are the same in range as all PMR446 radios but the Motorolas are better built than most. Probably a few hundred metres in woodland. OK for teams in a firefight or moving together in a patrol. Its preferable to have a rotary volume knob so you can adjust it in a pouch without being able to see it. The 80 model has this where the 60 doesnt. I have the 80 model and its a nice radio. You dont need all the fancy functions really. They use a Motorola single pin connector and most headsets are available with this connection.
  13. Welcome to the forum. Personally I love MP5's although they are used less and less today but its still iconic. I have the G&G one and the telescopic stock makes it very versatile. The UMP is good too for CQB. I have the Top Tech versions but they do a range of different models to suit your pocket. Airsoft Zone in Romford are very knowledgeable on G&G and will be able to help with springs to vary the fps.
  14. I bought mine from Pro Airsoft Supplies two years ago for £99. Ive also fitted a kill flash to stop it getting shot out.
  15. I only have one so cant comment on all the versions out there, but from what Ive seen, if you pay more than about £90 for an ACOG, they are usually decent quality. This is the one I have. http://gpairsoft-uk.com/shop/en/51361-gp-airsoft-acog-type-4x32-scope-gp035-for-airsoft-gun.html The WE one seems quite decent, although Im not personally botheted about a doctor sight.
  16. What makes a decent airsoft ACOG ? They are all replicas of the real thing. I have one on my SCAR which works fine but only one in tne armoury, so cant compare.
  17. I think its a fallacy to say that it would give you an edge in a skirmish. A lot of twaddle is often talked about this. Did they say how the Bolt would give you an edge ? IMHO As long as youve got a half decent rifle and I would say both makes you mention are, its down to you and the weight of the ammo. OK I lie - you need upgrades and more upgrades lol
  18. The only thing Id say about walking boots is that they are not designed to allow you to bend at the ankle which makes kneeling and crouching difficult, pre-requisites for warfare. When you try boots on for Airsoft, I would say you need to test this. You need ankle support to stop the foot going sideways on uneven ground but it needs to bend easily so you can squat.
  19. If youre in Colchester, it might be worth talking to Mark at Hangar39 in the centre, He sells a range of mil boots. In an outdoor note, I had a pair of Meindls for years. Used to walk up and down the artificial rock slope in the shop to test the fit.
  20. Lol - the best boots are dead mans boots on the battlefield - let them break em in for you ! Seriously though, try an army surplus or industrial workwear store.
  21. Seem okay on first look but you cant judge boots without seeing them and trying them. Its always a lottery online.
  22. This came up on our milsim group the other day and thought you might find the thoughts of one of our regulars useful. http://thesecretairsofter.com/2014/02/24/re-boots/
  23. People swear by German paratrooper boots at the lower price range and Lowa MOD at the higher. Personally I like SWAT team boots with side zippers.
  24. Depends what you're after, but nothing springs to mind. Action Hobbies at Milton Keynes (Bletchley) ?
  25. Airsoft is like two steps forward, one step back. Unless you go and buy it in a shop, you dont have a lot of control and you waste a lot of time tooing and froing to get things sorted. My pet hate at the moment is online retailers that take orders for stuff that they dont have in stock - there should be a law that they have to indicate on their website if they are out of stock and secondly, retailers who post up the wrong photo or an inaccurate photo of what they are selling on their website. Even the supposed best are guilty of the second one.
