  2. Yes its feasible. Im sure there are people who dont have the confidence and could repair it themself with remote help, so I suspect there is a denand. It's not the same as the You Tube self help videos as they aren't interactive, where as this, would be. However, I presume you want to be paid for this so you have to devise a way of charging, both fairly and in a way that people can't take your advice and then just close the Skype link without paying. You also need to establish credibility and have a way of dealing with complaints if you advise wrongly and they break their gun or they break it due to a misunderstanding in communications. Try to explain to somebody how to do up a neck tie to see how easy it is to misunderstand commands. You need to be very good at communicating and being concise. Some of the people fix their own guns because they cant afford to pay for tech help and as we all know, there are scammers out there.
  3. My son has just bought a G&G rifle from their intermediate range. I was quite taken with this for the price: http://airsoftzone.co.uk/gr4-g26-standard-m4-carbine-blowback-aeg-gng?filter_name=gr4 A word of caution though - I find a lot of these modern shorter M4s a bit short in the stock and have it set at the extreme setting, which is still a little short. Worth trying them in the flesh if you can.
  4. I find ex mil personnel tend to fall into two camps with airsoft. They are either enthusiastic or they think its a bit silly and pointless after doing the real thing. Perhaps he was just being polite rather than disrepect your chosen pastime ?
  5. Have you looked through all the G&G range ? they make combat and the next level intermediate models of so many M4 variants, I cant keep up with them. They are excellent VFM and they have some new models coming out. All M4s have a somewhat similar look but they are so easy to personalise externally with grips, new stocks, optics, lights, slings, different ironsights, etc.
  6. Despite the fact that I principally play with one company now, I am opposed in principle to having to play with the same site organisers three times a year to keep my UKARA valid. For all their other alleged faults, BAC did try to address this but it all got very political. I have no real issue with UKARA but IMHO it should be transferable between sites in any 12 month period. After all the requirement to play three games shouldnt be site specific.
  7. Yeah but they dont get to take the lead throwers home with them ! lol I take his point and it does seem strange that people with firearms certificates cant be trusted to own a toy airsoft gun unless they attend three games, but the law-making in our country doesnt have a lot of consistency or balance. As I said in another thread, at least we have the freedom to own toy guns. Ive got mates in other countries who love it when they come here and see the liberties we have. Some of those are scared of getting shot by their police when they play airsoft, have to pay two or three times what we pay for airsoft guns or just cant play legally in their country. The Aussies call us whingers - quite rightly so I think (except they are bigger whingers lol)
  8. It occurs to me that there is a big difference between the playing style of skirmishing and milsims. Neither is wrong and many think that they are two branches of airsoft. I would beg to differ and say its the other way round. Milsim and skirmishes are two different disciplines that share a use of airsoft in their execution. In skirmishing, its mostly about airsoft. In milsims, airsoft is just one of many tools. I started off with skirmishing for about a year, played at a few different sites and then realised I was still wanting. Milsim satisfied that itch for me. There seems to be a lot of ignorance about milsims by people who form opinions based on what they read or others say. As there are lots of flavours of milsim, its more likely going to be an opinion of one site/game rather than anything else. A lot judge by what they read about Tier1 and Stirling. They are both at one end of the milsim scale and by no means represent all it has to offer.
  9. No youre not. I know little about Airsoft weapons. My armoury is stock. I tend to buy reasonable makes with tighter barrel etc and add optics, foregrips, slings etc as I would real steel, but otherwise dont tinker. Theres nothing wrong with wishing to upgrade your toys and squeeze the maximum potential out of it - its just a personal choice. Some do get a little obsessed though.
  10. I have two of these; one short and one long if you need any info on them. As already said, they arent RIFs so no defence is needed. They look like flare guns really.
  11. OK you've made a mistake. Nobody is going to break the law for you, so you have two options. Speak to LWA (dont send them an email). Tell them the truth and either ask them to credit your Paypal effectively cancelling the order or ask them to give you a credit note for use at their store when you are 18. Once you are 18 you can either buy a two tone or you can get a RIF once you have got your UKARA number.
  12. I do wonder if this constant reference to upgrades that we see, even from people who have yet to play their first skirmish, is a product of kit upgrade bonuses on games?
  13. Sorry read the thread through and kept seeing war rifle. Didnt think to read the heading.
  14. Out if interest which make of Airsoft M4 do you have and how many ganes have you played ?
  15. Look up Okto Eight Milsim for Eversley. http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/25967-opfirestorm-22-23rd-august-2015-eversley/?hl=okto
  16. Eversley - just round the M25 and down the M3 at J12 a little.
  17. Its an easy loop to fall into. You book your first game and then start surfing guns and kit while youre waiting and enthused. Most of us have done it. The trick is not to extract credit card before you get your UKARA lol My first rifle was a sniper bolt rifle. Still use it sometimes but wish I had waited for a RIF version rather than a two tone that I then had to camo.
  18. As I said we run milsims but you have to be 16 to play, so no not at all. My post is based on what Ive read online.
  19. Should we hate games like Call of Duty, BF, Arma etc or praise them ? We run milsim games (Okto Eight Milsim). Reading through forums, FB groups and talking to young airsofters, its amazing how many are influenced in terms of combat and weapons knowledge by time spent on console and PC games. Is this generally good or bad for airsoft ?
  20. Sorry I must have made a mistake. I was in a bit of a hurry. Actually Special Ops is the nearest to you, at Milton Keynes. Mad Dog Airsoft is in Brampton, 4 hours from me. I want to find a site i can attend regularly.
  21. Mad Dog Airsoft. Do you mean be a sniper or run a sniper rifle ? Sniping is a way of fighting. You can snipe with any rifle. In CQB and assuming there is cover, you can snipe with a normal weapon. However, if you want to run a high velocity sniper rifle, then it is highly unlikely it will meet the criteria of any CQB site. This means playing a woodland site and there are usually minimum engagement distances. £200 will buy a cheap springer sniper but only just. Many new airsoft players make the mistake of choosing a sniper rifle as their first rifle. Its a mistake because many regret their decision when they have played a few games. My advice would be to rent, play some games and then re-assess.
  22. Agree with what has been said, Have now bought two rifles from them and was in there only a few weeks ago,
  23. Welcome to the group. One thing I find with airsofting is that you are just another player. Nobody cares where you come from. I play milsim and we had a player come all the way from Germany last game. Next game, we have a German and a Dane. Ive played with lots of Polish players. I just think, great, more types of camo. One of my Polish camerades wears some great Russian kit because he likes soviet kit. Our milsim is set in the forests and it revolves around rebels, saboteurs and guerilla tactics. We love AKs and SVDs and blowing stuff up. Just find a site near you, rent some kit and play some games. Get stuck in and see if you like it.
