    WE M9A1?

WE are okay but nothing special. Before you buy it, have a look at the TM one. I was handling one the other day in Airsoft Zone and I thought it was awesome.
  2. Theres a green cap which is missing but that shouldnt affect your problem as its largely cosmetic. I found that the ICS ones aren't very good for BBs. You could try a blob of silicone grease in the hole once youve loaded the BBs, I got one with my ICS M203 but went out and bought two better grenades. Ive now switched to firing TAGs out of the M203.
  3. This was posted on the Okto Eight site today and thought forum members might be interested. These sell for around a tenner each as a readymade replica plate, so you can save yourself £30-40 on s set if you wear a plate carrier. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QEgyfl2V3jI&feature=youtu.be
  4. The military is full of acronyms. They make up new ones all the time. Even the military have to goggle a lot of them.
  5. Im dangerously close to drifting off topic, but theres nothing wrong with you spending whatever you want on kit. Ive just spent a very pleasant thirty minutes browsing through the kit on the UK Tactical link you provided. - thank you. The point I was trying to make is that there are individuals who look down their noses if you go to a game without the kit or if you cant do a 48 hour milsim or its not held at a MOD training camp. IMHO that IS elitist and gives milsim a bad tag. Nothing to do with the topic, but there Ive got it off my chest.
  6. Thanks for the Warrior links. I personally really like the LBT and some of its attributes but the Warrior DCS is a better price and probably better made. Id agree anybody looking at a decent PC without going OTT would be wise to consider it. There are a number of hard core milsimmers who reportedly spend a lot of their disposable income on buying real steel kit. They are very knowledgeable about whats out there because they spend a lot of time researching it. It makes me smile because the real guys that they try to emulate are nowhere near as fussy about the kit they wear. It also doesnt help milsim much as they have quite a narrow and somewhat elitist outlook about games/companies and sites. It gives me a great deal of pleasure to see guys play milsims dressed as rag tag freedom fighters or PMCs and get a huge amount of enjoyment from minimal load outs.
  7. Its funny but I asked a question on one of the pukka hard core milsim sites about a rogue strap that I couldnt identify on my LT6094 replica. We are talking £120-ish for a replica plus extra for pouches, which isnt cheap and they are tapping their noses and saying ah but its not like the real thing and the Chinese copy it wrong, implying that you should get the real thing. The real thing is USD 400 minimum from LT in the states and thats too much in my mind for an item of airsoft clothing. Its about balancing fit, form and function with how much you can afford and how often its getting used. Balance in all things.
  8. When I first started airsoft, I bought myself an assault vest. My logic was that I didnt fully understand these new fangled plate carriers and I was dazzled by the prices and array of the ones on the market. The assault vest was fine. It was something familiar and I had more load carrying kit that I could use in skirmishes including an integral hydration pack. I loved the full length zip which enabled me to get it on and off easily. However, I eventually dipped my toe in the water with this invention of satan - the plate carrier. I made the mistake of buying a cheap one to try it out. It was a pain - uncomfortable wires sticking out, difficult to get in and out of unaided, etc. With my involvement with milsims, I have treated myself to a better one and its night and day compared to the other one I had. Little things like having an integral radio pouch, velcro loops for radio cables, hydration tubes etc make all the difference. I also never fully appreciated what difference dummy SAPI plates make to the fit. I can also close the side panels myself once its on, without the use of mirrors or team mates. My point ? I guess Im musing on how, its all a bit of a learning curve. You dont want to lash out on the expensive wrong kit, but sometimes buying cheap in ignorance also means you end up buying twice !
  9. Macks Special Ops also have an active Facebook page.
  10. You are probably better googling the main airsoft retailers to see which SCARs you can afford for your £300 budget then reading through some of the review posts on here to see the pros and cons. Few of us have SCARs but we naturally think the one we have is the best lol ! I have the G&G one !
  11. Only four spaces left in the whole game now.
  12. I have the Real Sword 56 and they are lovely rifles. The SVD is VERY long though. Just make sure its what you want size wise..
  13. The problem is a lot of mainland sites wont allow 450fps. Its not a problem if you just want to use it at one site, but the differing DMR requirements around different sites make things difficult. Dont forget that most sites have a minimum engagement distance so you can shoot at anything closer than 20-30m.
  14. Im working on an airsoft version of the KAC MK11 but as it is a DMR not a bolt action, theres not much point exceeding 400 fps. The sites I play at have a DMR limit of 420 and 400 fps respectively (with different MED). It has a MOSFET, a 400fps spring and is semi auto only. To be honest Im more interested in the role and the cosmetic value rather than spending lots on further upgrades. Note that some sites will only allow DMRs if they represent a real world DMR rather than any old AEG with a scope.
  15. IMHO a lot of it is laziness. A lot of the enquiries are from youngsters. We live in a spoon fed, wheres there's a blame, theres a claim society. However, why should they google when there are lots of idiots (including myself) who will answer all the questions why they use their time more productively. Also a minority are attention seeking youngsters. Not every enquirer is like that, but many are. A common one I see used on Facebook groups is "my google fu is weak" - yeah right. I also remember starting airsoft and did a lot of reading first. I still ask questions, but try to find out the answer myself or at least narrow things down. Sonetimes social media is excellent to just weight the options or give you the last piece of the jigsaw. My pet hate are what I call depth chargers, They pose an open question like "which is the best gun for £500" which gets people answering with the numerous possibilities then they never come back to the forum to read the answers or reply to any of it. Bottom line is you wont stop them asking lazy questions - its up to you whether you give your time, which is just as valuable as theirs, to answer. If people put a little effort into their search, people will be more inclined to produce more helpful answers. Now, which gun is best ?
  16. If youre 28, my advice is not to rush into anything. Do three games, get your UKARA defence sorted so you dont need a two tone and by then you will know more about what you want. Theres no point saying you dont want a toy gun if you are going to run round with a bright coloured one.
  17. My son bought one because he was on a budget and I thought oh-oh plastic version of a metal M4, but actually I was quite surprised at the quality and had to tap the upper receiver to confirm it wasnt metal. Personally, I like metal rifles to be metal and correspond in heft and I have the Top Tech version but its a price/budget compromise. I also find the version he has is a bit short for me - it doesnt quite sit right in my long reach, which is why I would advocate trying one in person. In my still limited experience of toy guns, I find that many people who go in to a retailer to buy one rifle end up coming out with something else in the black plastic wrap.
  18. Ive never been so can't criticise although what Ive heard from others has put me off ever considering it because I know what I like. In response to your question, I suspect its because they can. I believe its a huge event in terms of numbers so if people pay and rock up each year, theres not much incentive to spend time and effort organising lots of detail for them in the way you describe. Its not my way personally and I have to look myself in the mirror each day, so we do it differently with milsims because that's our way. I know Rob has been who played in the MDF last op and he enjoyed it, although more for the social side I believe than the quality of the game.
  19. Interesting - sounds like a Chinese copy but only £130. I wonder how much upgrading it will need to match the shooting ability of the TM ? What is the out of box fps of the TM version ?
  20. The problem is, unless the price is heavily discounted from new, the prospective purchaser can buy a new one directly from the retailer with a warranty and less risk. At the cheaper end of the scale, % reduction doesnt amount to much in £. Admittedly you might have put a lot of investment into the accessories but its a custom/bespoke gun so you will only get a decent price if players appreciate the true value. Most will want or appreciate some but not all. Its a bit like ordering a car with all the options then wondering why you dont get your money back at time of sale.
  21. I think some of the MPF guys mentioned they are going. Might be worth asking them on the community group.
  22. Depends on what its sold as in terms of whether its ever been deployed. Of course there are no guarantees, but if it bothers you, just buy unissued surplus. I suppose its conceivable that kit that has been used in the gulf could have been exposed, but its a small chance. I often wonder what the long term effect of carrying microwave transmitters (mobile phones) near my gonads is and what effect sitting in the same room as a wifi hub is. Who the hell knows.
  23. New combat machine. There is a lot of secondhand crap out there and if you dont know the history and you buy online, youre likely to end up with a dog, unless you know how to fix all the problems.
