  1. Yes I bought a couple from the far east in different camo and an ATV dust mask that offers some teeth protection. The latter is the most comfortable.
  2. Then ownership of a RIF isnt illegal if you are 19 at the time of sale. As Mack said, the seller has broken the law.
  3. Try Tiger111 for Z Tac spares, but nobody seems to sell many spares for this replica stuff.
  4. I know Andy and the guys at Humber Airsoft and they are top guys. There is also supposed to be a new site opening at Elsham soon. Lincolnshire Airsoft Club is another possibility usually but I dont think they have a game this weekend.
  5. When I asked about a scope for my DMR on here a few months ago, I was advised to spend no less than £50. I spent a little more than that. One of the things that I Splashed out for was turret adjusters. I was glad I did as these allow you to instantly adjust and lock the windage and elevation, which is very useful when the wind blows in airsoft. Saves fiddling with screwdrivers and removing end caps.
  6. Its just different. The groups do have a search facility, so you can find stuff if its not too fast paced. Its really easy to post photos to, where most forums force you to have an alliance with Photobucket or similar so the host doesnt store your photos. The aforementioned UKAC group is just too busy - like watching ticker tape. Facebook makes it very easy to share content like photos, movies etc as you can upload direct or just click share. I like both formats for different reasons.
  7. UKAC has about 6000 members and the traffic moves so quick you cant find anything ever again. There are some other slightly slower general airsoft groups on FB that are better paced.
  8. Ive just seen a milsim game advertised as a 35 hour game. Would you want to play airsoft for 35 hours straight and sleep in game with specs on?
  9. While I agree with many of the sentiments here about pistols, there is one good reason to have one. They are fun ! Most of us do this hobby because we are interested in the different types of guns. Pistols may have questionable benefit in a skirmish but they are interesting and fun to own. If you have one, why not strap it to your leg or plate carrier and carry it in games ?
  10. TBH I've looked at them all and they are either tumbleweed or very cliquey and unwelcoming. This is by far the best web based forum outside of Facebook.

  12. Pretty much down to what style of pistol you want. Why do you want a sidearm - are you going to be carrying it around most of the time or do you just want something to use as a primary weapon for certain games ? Might be a controversial approach, but it might be worth looking at holsters and leg rigs and working back to a compatible pistol. Personally I hate the style of Glocks but have quite a few other pistols, mostly WE or TM. They all have their little differences. One Im lusting over at the moment is the FNH 45 from Cybergun, because its a big weighty pistol with a hard kick blowback.
  13. The guys love AKs. There are all kinds together with some more unusual variations. I have an AK103 and a Real Sword Type 56, which is not a Russian Kalashnikov at all.
  14. More CIV-POP planned for next months game in just over 3 weeks time.
  15. They are much of a muchness electronically - pretty unreliable. Just choose which fits your helmet best and be prepared to change them when they break down.
  16. Are you talking about real or Z Tac imitations ?
  17. There are lots of sites within striking distance of the M25. AWA, Red 1, the ones in Billericay, Sandpit, Gunman Herts and they're just the ones I know. I think there are some improvements going in at Gunman Herts in August with the building of a tower and fuel dump.
  18. Very large rifle. Would suggest you see one in the flesh before buying. A lot of new players are drawn towards being a sniper. Unless you really are sure its a style you are going to like, I would be wary. Many are drawn by the mystique but get bored of waiting around a long way from the action. If you want to play an active role but are drawn towards that style of gun, there are lots of smaller DMR on the market. Gear depends on what role you want to play in games.
  19. Have a talk to ANT Supplies to see if they have an adaptor to fit it.
  20. Have a look at the TAG smoke rounds. Airsoft World tell me they arent particularly good smoke-wise but I recall reading that the Russian manufacturer was looking to improve them. We allow certain types of TAGs at our games.
  21. Personally I would avoid skirmishes dressed as SS. Doesn't matter how you feel about it, players will react based on how they feel about it and you can't rely on a high level of knowledge about German units. You either don't care and deal with any prejudice as it happens or you do something else. WW2 themed games shouldn't be a problem. I just came back from War and Peace down in Folkestone and saw lots and lots of Nazi's, many of them real Germans in Tiger tanks.
  22. Wow there are so many types and variations. Real steel is easier with PMAGs and EMAGs. these are the airsoft ones Im talking about. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/beta-project-pmag-75rd-box-set-abs-plastic-black.html#.VbJy50p4WK0
