Umarex are a rebrander- a middle man. They didn't develop it and they would put their name and logo on everything. And as 2-0 said, H&K would most likely not have had any influence in the gun anyway as they literally take Umarex's money to authorise the use of the H&K logo.

When buying a rebranded Umarex gun, a fair amount of the price is for the H&K trademark. I think OP would be better off buying a G&G CM M4 as It's trusted by many members of the forum- plus they are made of a really sturdy nylon fibre plastic, much better than any Chinese monkey metal

Meth is one hell of a drug......

I've seen them come with the RS PSO-1 , so you shouldn't worry about buying optics separately
-
I'd stick with 2mm. Looking at the difference between 1 and 2mm I'd be happier with 2mm of kydex keeping a valuable pistol from hitting the concrete/mud
-
If you cut it and file it well, it shouldn't have ragged ends
-
I'd say spend a little more on face protection- you only get one set of eyeballs and 1 face!
-
Get a 300mm or 330mm MadBul tightbore inner barrel for your M4 and put a mock suppressor on the end to hide it? Or maybe cut one down to 292mm?

Battery: 8.4V 2200mAh 4/5SC NiMH Battery Pack. (3x2 + 1). Higher mAh means more shots, the rule of thumb is 1mAh used per shot. Charger: Universal charger for Airsoft battery packs. Component Shop is a brilliant Wales-based retailer and will be happy to help with any questions. Any batteries with a Mini Tamiya connector will fit an AEG gun (unless a different connector is in it, and that should be specified by the retailer) Depends where/what you buy. A set of basic CS'95 Woodland DPM combat trousers and shirt should cost under £20, a good pair of boots should cost around £50 or under (German Para boots are supposed to be good, you can get them for around £30 second hand (<- second hand is better as they'll be worn in already)) you can get old British Army Northern Ireland chest rigs for 99p off Ebay or the newer Bulle and TT stuff for costs and in places I've mentioned above. As well as those you'll want face protection (a full mask should be no more than £25) maybe a pair of combat gloves (you can get simple Viper pairs for under £10 from Ebay and various places like Military1st) extra magazines (I'd suggest buying an extra hicap first if your gun comes with 1, or saving and buying a set of midcaps which can cost £30-£50) a spare battery (17-odd, perhaps buy 2 of the ones I've linked above?) and a few bottles of BBs. Proairsoftsupplies have a sale on for 0.20g Blaster BB bottles on atm, £6.20 or something for one bottle. ^these are only rough estimates for basic stuff. If you wanted higher end stuff you'd be looking at £300 without the gun.

It's not really just about having more FPS than the average AEG- it's more about being effective at longer ranges than AEG users generally are and bridging the gap between people playing a dedicated sniper role with a bolt action and automatic weapons. Which is what real life DMR rifles are used for...... And tbh, you can't really stereotype DMR users as showoff geardos- I've often seen DMR users in low end gear because they put every penny they can into internal upgrades, wiring and mosfets. I've seen more normal AEG users in HSGI, Flyye, 5.11 and other high end gear brands.

And it will cost you just under £30 to actually buy both, as you'll have to buy an NiMh battery first, which tend to be more expensive?
-
Well, it is brand new....... I'll be getting down and dirty with my M700 later this month as the damn thing is always better to use while prone- hopefully I can sort out the leaking issue my long mag has before then!

My local site does very fast games, so I tend to stick 3 120rnd midcaps in my Mini MAV +1 fitted to the weapon as I'm leaving the safe area, speed loader filled with .25s and spare Ni-Mh in my admin pouch and an extra hi-cap completely filled to eliminate rattle in my other trouser pocket or in a 5.56 pouch on my belt. I keep one of those Deployment Bags on my belt if I'm going out for longer and stick snacks and a muffled bottle of BBs in it, as well as a holster. My Bulle rig is filled with 3 midcaps and spare hicap, along with a small bottle of Abbey Brut (if I'm sniping) and a small bottle of water. If I'm going out for longer, I'll swap the water for a smaller BB bottle and stick a hydro unit on my back under the rig. My Condor rig, by far my largest (and usually with extra pouches attached for exercises) has all 3 spare midcaps +1 hicap, bladder in the dedicated pouch in the rig's 'spine', holster mounted to the MOLLE on the left side for a crossdraw, Leatherman in a pistol mag pouch on my left shoulder and both .30 and .25/.20g speedloaders in a grenade pouch on the right side of the rig. I prefer running both chest rigs as it means I can move quickly and with less noise than the Condor, but I'd definitely take the Condor over both other rigs for a longer day, overnight game, weekend or fieldcraft as I can get my camping gas, stove, mess tins, cam cream, red and white light torches, gas lighter, mess tins and hydration pouch in it easily without having any issues with a belt rig slipping.

New bits just arrived for CB/Tan loadout: Mil-Tec tan 'Ranger' combats, tan Mil-Tec baseball cap, tan Mil-Tec shemagh, tan/black Will be dusting cap and combats with brown Krylon later today, the tan's just a little light for me.

I have one of those, they're great only problem is Flecktarn.co.uk have realised how popular they are and raised the price from £25 to almost £40, which is fair enough; however it's a bit of kit I've always recommended for value for money, and now you can get an okay-ish plate carrier for that price. Try tactical-kit.co.uk for one, they're about £30. Very good site, I've used them for my Tactical Tailor stuff.
-
Bulle UK, Condor do some nice chest rigs, a real South African Assault Vest (Called an M83, speak to Nickona about getting one as he is king of South African kit) and if you can afford it with pouches any Tactical Tailor rig. I think the full sized MAV is under £50

Looks good so far. The best M1911 is a TM, although I'd wait until you have some sort of registration like UKARA or a site membership before purchasing one so you don't have to have it 2toned. Despite this I wouldn't get a pistol just yet, I'd actually concentrate on saving for mags/batteries (and swap out to MP5 midcaps, MP5 hi caps are a bastard to use ). Just a heads up, that 'helmet and cover' you linked is just a flecktarn helmet cover, knockoff helmets cost around £30-£40.

Big boots aren't for running? This is news to me. I've owned and used British Assault boots as part of a uniform requirement for the past 3 years- I've used mine on field exercises, ranges and assault courses, and I've needed to run a hell of a lot more during those than I've had to run in a skirmish. Sorry to sound hard on you, but there is no suitable alternative to combat boots when it comes to mobility and ankle protection. You may be able to run faster in Nikes, but they don't have that deep tread boots do which help them to dig into mud.
-
I make do with little-no MOLLE on my Mini MAV, and I think it's great as a lightweight setup; I'm also running a Bulle UK Lightweight chest rig as part of my CB/Tan loadout and i'm doing great only using the built in pouches. I understand the utility and coolness factor of MOLLE, but IMO it's even cooler when you find a fixed pouch rig that completely fits what you need.

A lower power spring is all you need to take with you.

Funnily enough you can actually buy APCs for £12,500 and under........ http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicle/,37,/46202/Alvis_Stormer.htm

First sniper rifle, What do you think of this? And any hints :)
TacMaster replied to Prathios's topic in General Help
That's what I've heard. Tbh I wouldn't expect it not to be at DMR standard- it's Reasl Sword FFS! -

If you're willing to save, you could get yourself an RS SVD for about £500-£600, and it has internals widely regarded to be DMR standard. -
Moving to Canada for a year, can i take my airsoft gear?
TacMaster replied to smileym89's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, there's a fair few guns up for sale in the States and North America that aren't available to us Europeans. -
7.4v LiPo's fine, however you could compromise and get a 9.9v LiFe- I don't think they need a mosfet to avoid electrical arcing between trigger contacts
