Or once you've finished getting the basic gear, save your cash until you're UKARA or site registered and buy a nice G&P you can put all the stuff you want onto?
-
That'd look ace if it had the built in scope on it!
-
Be warned; sites might not let you play in trainers due to them having no ankle support. Tbh it's fine wearing Chinos for your first game, but you'd be much better off buying a pair of tougher trousers if you start airsofting regularly as the Chinos could potentially rip or take a long time to dry out. As for the G&G M4, it's possibly the most cost effective rifle out there. Perfect for beginners. In the transparent form you're much less noticeable compared to other U18s with 2toned weapons. Plus, you can spray over the transparent parts when you're a regular skirmisher, and any paint that comes off will not have bright green/red/orange/blue underneath

Lightweight loadout? You've come to the right place! #1: the Bulle Lightweight Chest rig This rig has all you need for £40, and it lasts a hell of a long time as do other Bulle UK products. Comes with built in pouches including: 3x bungee secured mag pouches holding 2x M4 mags in each or 1x AK/G36 mag 2x zip up utility pouches mounted either side, with MOLLE on the fronts and the insides to secure items etc. 1x zip up map pouch occupying the space behind the mag pouches It also has MOLLE on the back panel for hydration pouches, MOLLE on the shoulder straps and even MORE MOLLE on the front of the mag pouches £30 off tactical kit.co.uk. Also comes in Tan if you want to put together a Multicam/MTP/Coyote Brown/Desert DPM/ whatever desert camo you want loadout. I believe that's in stock there at the moment. #2: the Tactical Tailor Mini MAV This thing is micro as hell. It comes with no pouches whatsoever but it does have space for 3x M4 mag pouches and 2 pistol mag pouches either side or a torch pouch/whatever. I personally own this rig (as well as the Bulle rig) and I can safely say they are both amazing quality. The TT Mini MAV is made in Tacoma Heights, Washington, USA, and feels brilliant to the touch. They come in Olive Drab, Black, Coyote Brown and Multicam. These things retail for £32 with no pouches on them, however you can get pouches for fairly cheap. In fact, the best budget pouches are made by Bulle UK! As for trousers, I'd suggest not using Chinos as they can rip easily- pick up a pair of Craghoppers trousers from a camping shop or Go Outdoors/Milletts online or a pair of MFH combats off military1st.co.uk or a pair of Propper canvas trousers off flecktarn.co.uk.

You might want to find a battery with a higher mAh, 650 won't last long at all at a skirmish. For reference, I have an Ni-Mh battery I bought a couple of years ago for fairly cheap and it's 1600mAH. Either way it should work if it has the right connectors however it's not ideal for longer skirmishes
-
Might find it a little difficult to buy, they've been out of stock every time I've seen them
-
Nothing, it's just safer and more practical to use a training knife, be it rubber or plastic, to do it. Plus if you're stopped and searched by the police on your way to/from a skirmish you won't have a bloody big combat knife in your bag, along with multiple RIFs.
-
So you'd rather we stabbed each other with actual combat knives if we wanted to perform 'silent' takedowns?
-
Normal site rules usually state that any melee weapon should be able to bend 30º or close to minimise any danger. As the description of that Bokken states it 'closely duplicates a real Katana's length, size, weight and feel', I guess sites wouldn't be too impressed with something that big with such little movement. Personally I've used a lightsaber and even an extra long suppressor to get melee kills in the past- anything can be a melee weapon if you're brave enough

That with a Phantom kit?

WE Scar = GBB Pros: Kicks awesomely Fairly high powered like most gas rifles- can be converted to a DMR with less effort than converting an AEG Capability to support ABB systems Cons: Mags cost £30-£40 each Requires more maintenance You have to buy a fair amount of gas each month VFC scar Pros: Works with normal M4 AEG mags, so it's cheaper to buy them As it's an AEG not a lot of maintenance is needed (if any) Doesn't use gas, so you don't have to splash out each month or so on a couple of fresh cans Cons: No recoil Not easy to convert to DMR More parts could go wrong as it's reliant on a gearbox Ultimately it's your choice, neither is better than the other- each have specific sets of weaknesses due to the nature of their propulsion.

Cyma weapons have an H-Nub in the hop unit as standard. This is probably why it's doing better than the G&P as other members have posted that G&Ps have barrel and hop problems OOB.
-
Tanaka = £££. Even Tanaka magazines are expensive, £50 for a long M700 mag and around £40 for a short.
-
I'm actually unsure if I can go now, it's clashing with events friends have planned and I believe I'll enjoy those more than NAE. Maybe next year?

From what I've heard the best out of box is the TM VSR G-Spec. They're the best out of box however require further upgrades for their best performance. UTJ has one and I believe he can help you with what to buy if you decide to go down the TM route.
-
DMRs tend to be AEGs which have internal upgrades such as better pistons, gears, motors, lower resistance wiring, a tight bore barrel and a better hop unit/nub/rubber. There are 2 variations of DMR; AEG conversions Purpose built The AEG conversions have all the upgrades mentioned above, however they have their automatic fire mechanism removed to conform them to site limits. The purpose built DMRs (so for example G&G SR25s, Real Sword SVDs etc) have been produced with no automatic feature and no upgrades, although I believe the RS SVD has DMR quality internals out of the box. Not too sure on this though. Many people convert M16 size AEGs into DMRs, using shorter 'Vietnam' style straight magazines, low power scopes, full length RIS systems and all the internals up to DMR spec. I've heard of G3 DMRs and G36E DMRS as well though.

Game modes and maps that HAVE to be done.

I'd love to do a massive urban warfare scenario stretching over a week. Somewhere sunny like Spain as Zak mentioned, Idm vehicles but I'd like the idea of your team of 100 or so being split down into a few platoons, then those being split into sections, and then having one section manning a checkpoint for 'civilians' to be evac'd through, another keeping an MG nest up and running and the last section out on a clearance patrol of your part of town. Imagine the scramble when you come under contact! Awesome -
It's not a milsim, everybody's in one crazy campsite from what I've heard. If you're looking for night ops milsims will probably be your thing (if you have a desire to be sat out on sentry duty at 3AM)
-
It's a type of skirmish event- Milsim is an abbreviation of Military Simulation. Milsims vary in extremity; some might have you up at 3AM on sentry duty, following British Army/US Army/whatever faction's harbour area drills (A harbour area is basically a triangular secure camping space; the drills are what you do, so it could be tent pitching or clearing a noticeable path around the perimeter) whereas other milsims can be more relaxed. They generally include mag capacity limits, loose ammo limits and kit limitations. A lot of hiking and tabbing around the 'battle area' is required.

Scopes, sights and something weird underneath!?
TacMaster replied to GREG Shooter123's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
However most AEGs won't have the range and accuracy to take full advantage of a magnified sight, so most of the time they're useless for anything but recon on the other team- and even then you can do the job better with a monocular or small pair of binos which would cost less and likely be more effective. -
I'd put these guns up separately in threads in the sales section. Maybe get a forum member to identify them individually over PM so you can get a decent title up on each sales thread.
