  1. I wear a pair of the thick green army cotton socks over the top of a pair of m&s plain black socks. Never get any blisters and my feet are warm and comfortable all day.
  2. That's pretty damn cool to put it lightly lol! No way was I expecting an actual boat - I was expecting a small zodiac or something I take it this means you'll be going to berget as mech inf.? May now be the most milsim guy on the forum! I think the last car is crying out for a turret ring mount in the roof of the car and a m249 mounted in it. Could put a hatch across it to seal it like those PMC SUVs. You would have then reached God status
  3. Some electrical components from maplins. Shall be breathing life to a home build m72 very soon.
  4. Sounds like stuff I'd be interested in! I'm going to dip my toes in the water with some milsim here first then I think I might transition to these games . I haven't played a game in around 2 years now due to a hate of normal skirmishes and I've been building up a force recon impression whilst buying loads of weekender related stuff I wouldn't have factored in car hire, probably why I was so shocked by the price. I was thinking I could get a plane to the nearest airport then a taxi - I must have severely underestimated the distance! Sounds like a great thing to do when there is a team of you- something else I'll need to get myself You can't say you have an airsoft vehicle and not show us all pictures man, where's the justice ?!
  5. Could you give a rough break down of costs ? I was considering it but at that price I'd think twice about it. No idea there were things like berget elsewhere in Europe though so that's good to know. Can you dig foxholes and stuff at these events or is it still very mobile?
  6. Tamiya 1/6 scale series. First figure I've done and I'm quite happy with it. Disappointed in the air fix paint that came in another kit, the humbrol stuff I bought looks much better ( observe the difference in the green on the magazine pouches compared to the canteen covers)
  7. Eagle industries RRV USMC issue IFAK pouch, magazine pouch, canteen pouch and grenade pouches. FILBE assault pack to supplement the full FILBE pack which is far too big for anything less than a weekender !
  8. I like how you execute your videos and the focus on milsim. Looking forward to seeing the next few load out vids, will there be any recce / green side based kits? Would like to see your approach to operating out of a belt kit or webbing set
  9. Prof any chance of a firing vid? Would be interest in hearing what it sounds like from a cool factor perspective
  10. That's strange Duck, it was TWA I saw this happen at. Mind you this was a year or so ago before all those marshals quit
  11. I like the idea and have seen it done (albeit it poorly, guy turned up at my local with hot sniper rifle and bunged a really low spring in it so he could play). I think it would be good for quiet sneaky work without a MED.
  12. It's about smelling like a bush a fox just pissed on instead of a human
  13. I've read that you should roll about in the dirt and get it absolutely honking , and just keep it in your garage and not clean it or something. Vaguely remember something about smoke from a wood fire to get rid of smells and bugs?
  14. I've felt like watching BHD all day then I've just found out it's the 22nd anniversary of operation Gothic Serpent. Spooked

  15. Right lads, I have an entrenching tool and thus far I've had no opportunity or reason to use it. I know a lot of you are ex or currently in the forces, some of you will have had the chance at weekenders or helping to build an MG nest at a site you play at. Post pictures and techniques of all the positions you've built or seen. Bit of momentum and we might be able to encourage game providers to build some cooler emplacements at their sites. Everything from foxholes to trench networks, I'll even accept diagrams or bits from manuals! Hopefully a few of our forces guys can show us pictures from training
  16. First game I'll have played in almost 2 years today at the sandpit and coincidentally my first ever Sunday game ! Bit anxious

Better than being told that a keyboard is a peripheral in computing. I will start a rant about this another day.

Hope you had a good day. The weather was good for it.

  17. M4 is sorted so I shall be shooting, I mean seeing you fine gents on Sunday
  18. I've heard of people especially snipers washing bb's. Tight fisted bastards won't even fork out the dough for some pre-owned bb's
  19. Anyone at Chatham militaria fair tomorrow ?

  20. What Milsim providers are there beside Warzone, tier 1 and Sterling? They're the kind of thing I'm after but I'd rather something woodland instead of FIBUA sites everyone seems to be using

Gunman does a range of 'filmsim' games. These include vietnam, WW2, Cold war and modern. I have done a couple of the WW2 ones and they have been excellent fun. I wouldn't really compare them to milsim, but definitely a step up from an open day.

Okto 8 is very much a social event with two 8 hour games in between. I would not recommended it as a hard core Milsim but I would still recommend going as it is something different and on the whole the players are great.

Airbounre typically only play one day as a Milsim event followed by a skirmish the following day but that isnt always the case sometimes it just the one day.

  21. I haven't had the chance to attend a milsim event yet but I think attending something like this beforehand would definitely be a big help, even if only to help calm nerves and know what to do rather than the usual headless chicken behaviour from skirmishes . At the lower end of the estimate I'd definitely be interested as I usually end up spending 40 quid at an open day anyway!
