  1. I carry a very basic first aid kit with me when I play (I have an IFAK on my kit... might as well use it!), saline for washing eyes if necessary, 2 israeli bandages, some sticky plasters, a tourniquet (you never know...), a small roll of gauze, and some zinc oxide tape. Covers all the injuries I'm competent to deal with myself in the short term ranging from a scuffed knee to an arterial bleed. Most of the likely first aid problems at an airsoft game just don't have a 'first aid' solution that you can easily carry around, heart attacks, sprains, broken bones, eye trauma... doesn't matter what kit you have to hand with a lot of those, it's going to be bad!
  2. Ahh I see, so it's only fun if you think it's 'cool enough'. Gotcha. Of course, one could argue that 5.5 posts a day on one forum for a year isn't conducive to 'getting out more'.
  3. I think that depends entirely upon perspective. The whole point of our 'skirmisher's defence' is that part of the requirement for the sport is suspension of disbelief, without real looking guns that disappears. Granted, all the Krytac guns look real enough to pass as maybe a civilian AR, but if you're into collecting replicas of military weapons then the krytac range don't fit the bill.
  4. HAHAHAHAHA, WTF is that?!
  5. pretty much everything prometheus make is an upgrade for most guns, it's all made in Japan in relatively low numbers from good materials. The exact opposite of 99% of chinese 'upgrade' parts.
  6. personally I'd rather pay less than half the price for a better product and wait a week for it.
  7. 99% of 'upgrades' aren't, they're just cheaply manufactured replacement bits that are often not even compatible. For hop rubbers I'd stick to prometheus or firefly, both make excellent actual upgrade parts.
  8. BOTH of those holsters are next to worthless, you can spend less and get a better holster on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tactical-Military-Concealment-Right-Waist-Paddle-Belt-Holster-GLOCK-17-22-23-31-/151912840020?hash=item235eb5fb54:g:NasAAOSwf-VWawFX
  9. wtf? just take it out, loosen the screws a bit and move the wheel. This is honestly one of the simplest fixes on any gun ever, the hop up is just a lever, NOTHING ELSE.
  10. the key part of that being that you don't really have all that much choice what you hit... people discount BB brands because they shatter when they hit things, BBbastards shatter when they hit something hard, so do Bulldogs. It's just what happens when a soft plastic ball hits a hard surface or another soft plastic ball.
  11. All BBs shatter on impact. ALL OF THEM.
  12. THERE IS NO SLOWER TRAVEL TIME, IT IS A MYTH!!!!
  13. the airsoft game that happens at the NAE is generally pretty poor... too many people for the site and far too many cheats.
  14. There is no pre order list, they're first come first served. I've no idea why anyone pays the 'over the odds' prices people ask for BTC products when you can buy them direct from BTC which is exactly what all the retailers do before they slap on their markup.
  15. a BTC is NOT £100! They're £100 if you buy one from a retailer, but if you buy them direct they're more like £70: http://www.btcairsoft.com/spectre_v2gb $100, shipping from the US is like $8 and I've never had one caught by customs.
  16. standby for disappointment putting a metal kit onto a TM 1911, the magazines just don't hold enough gas to empty a magazine most of the time. If you're after a 'full metal' (FYI, real guns are normally made of steel, not whatever scrap zinc the chinese factory could get!) 1911 then the cybergun/KSC CO2 ones are the only thing I'd recommend.
  17. Fixed that for you, I wear ESS Crossbow glasses (same shape as crosshairs, just with a better coating on the lenses) and they fit my face fine with no gap bigger than 4mm anywhere.
  18. the time difference at close distances is so short it's definitely a negligible difference. If you can tell the difference between the shot landing after 20 or 25 milliseconds you're a better man than me!
  19. here's all the evidence you need for 'time to target': at 170' (51 metres!) the difference in time of travel between 0.2g and 0.3g is nearly half a second... in favour of the HEAVIER BB.
  20. 'time to target' is a myth too, sure, at 10' distances the .20g BB will get there 3ms quicker... but at distance heavier BBs actually end up going faster. For me the 'range' of my gun is the distance at which I can reliably hit a target, being able to float BBs beyond that is irrelevant, so I use the heaviest ammo my hopup can lift.
  21. That's one of my pet peeves, people calling their Airsoft Gun their 'RIF'... seriously, it's a fucking BB gun, RIF is a legal distinction!
  22. I bought my last 2 PCs from Novatech, had no problems with either one at all.
  23. You'll maintain a lot of the resale value if you go Crye.
  24. yep, then you get people saying things like "Gen3 night vision... more money than sense" - no mate, just didn't spend all my cash on unnecessary shit for years.
