    After nearly a year of searching for the right deal (e.g. less than $600!) I snagged a Daniel Defense RIS2 in FDE this weekend, now I just have to wait for my mule to sneak it past customs

    That's a completely different type of helmet made by a company called Team Wendy, Ops Core haven't changed the design of their rails at all. There are adapters for Team Wendy rails, but as far as I know only real steel ones so expect to pay a bit of a premium.

    just a reproduction of a different type of Ops Core helmet, the Ops Core bump helmets have diamond shaped holes and Ops Core carbon helmets have round ones.

    From what I've heard (all second hand info of course) the guys actually using them much prefer the Patagonia stuff, it's supposedly better cut and the VIKP system is much more comfortable. They're basically my holy grail, just don't want to pay holy grail prices!

    even short barrelled gas guns can Joule creep, my TM MP7 for example shoots 320 with a .20 and 300 with a .28, 110mm barrel, just MASSIVELY over volumed with the amount of gas that gets released.

    Six of one half a dozen of the other, Dynatex stopped producing for a while and SWAT used the same design for the VTG. They're effectively the same product.

    the TM M9 is a really old design with quite a small piston, green gas is almost certainly fine, break it back in using 144A though and you won't get any nasty surprises.

    Honestly, I don't think Specna arms are in the same league as G&G, for me they're in with JG, CYMA, etc. A budget option which is really just a clone of someone else's design.
