Nice, I'm gonna use that one in future. Just gotta wait for a picture of someone with a VFG on their AR gripping it by the magwell or another drop-knee holster.

Ah yes, of course, shouldn't be surprised really there's entire businesses doing NVGs purely on insta so it was bound to the case ha. Cheers guys.

Given long enough, sure, but I had them in the definition of a cool and totally dry place but I chucked about 15 and they all worked as good as when I first got them. It was more a throwaway comment tbh; I used to move P4/7, frag grenades, claymores, ATGMs, literal truck loads of centrefire ammo etc around all day, every day which obviously involved a good bit of paperwork and I was being overly paranoid and just wasted about £50 worth of stuff in the end. As I say, I checked LWA to see their offerings, also went on the TLSFX site and checked all their listed distributors but some of them don't even carry pyro anymore. Been on all the big UK airsoft retailer websites, just wanted to be sure nobody knew of another good source I might not have thought of.

I had some good medium smoke grenades and mk5s that had been sat in a box for about a decade and unfortunately my employer has brainwashed me in to not trusting such things so I chucked them all at a game a few months ago to get fresh stuff; they all worked of course so that was dumb but anyway. As with everything a lot of OOS listings atm, I'd like to hear anyone's current recommendations on well priced/reliable small mk5 type things and smoke grenades if anyone would care to oblige (smokes bigger than the EG WP40 that are actually useful). LWA seems like a decent option atm but I figured I'd ask in case anyone knows of a great place to get deals.

Ta, I haven't used an AFG in years, they were a short lived trend with the americans I usually emulate, but I think you could put it on the L85 in BF3/4 which is probably where I saw that combo first and something about the layout of a bullpup and where your arms are makes it pretty ergonomic. Previously I just had OD rail covers, but years ago when quad rails were the standard for ARs pre-KeyMod (solid 10 years ago in the M4 thread on Arnies) I saw a few guys do the mixing; you were really judged based on how prettily you adorned your long, heavy quad picatinny back then and the number of options was actually far more than with M-LOK now. Those things were a serious blank canvas. My plan is to build another body since the gearbox is quick and easy to swap. One will be a replica of what I last took to afghan with a SUSAT and the DD (so the infantry standard pre-ACOG UOR but without LLM), other will be freeform for practicality, except of course any handguard other than the DD pic and the standard green plastic is really bloody hard to find, so it's gonna be a challenge heh.

Something I learned starting my own little side business designing and drop-shipping gear recently is how fees factor in; I actually had to quickly up the price on my own product a few $ shortly after release when I totally forgot to factor in card fees to my costs. From what I've read over the years, airsoft sites don't make much profit margin and that's in a business that's mostly charged cash since it started (that's only really changed some places in the past couple of years). When you suddenly lose around 3-5% of the money you take in (maybe more for these remote payment kiosks) that starts to make things pretty tight indeed. Obviously it can take time, maybe petrol, to pay cash in to the bank but generally I'd wager sites save a good bit on operating cost by being paid cash by players. I know if I had the option to pay £1-3 or so less per game for cash rather than card I'd take it every time.

Yellow smoke is 'poison gas' except if you have a respirator of a certain rating you can survive in it, apparently. Except the radius it takes out wasn't explained, and I don't know anywhere else that does it so to me personally was an odd rule. Didn't really matter, didn't see much of it, just not a fan myself.

Glad to hear it, I hope they do a good amount. It was roughly middle of the afternoon, I'd died defending the killhouse area and had moved back to the village, was stood in a wooden hut looking through my 4x at the scaffolding arch that leads right through to the SZ entrance. Was waiting a decent while as each fall back was taking the blue attackers a long time to push and I spent at least 5, maybe 10, minutes watching a marshal with a pistol having a little back and forth fight with someone out of my line of sight. Wasn't just a test shot on a player. Not the end of the world obviously, but I doubt there were no players he and his adversary could've been watching/helping.

Hubris, over-familiarity and assumptions really messed me up yesterday. So many glowing reviews of Airsoft Plantation on here I figured being a long weekend I'd have to try. Not needing to book is nice in a way but should be accounted for in the game types better from what I saw, various areas are only linked by a few narrow gaps through hedges that you'd probably be injured by if you tried to push through. The last game that was supposed to be turned around just wasn't because us on the red team held back the attacking side so long. That aside, personally I screwed myself because I didn't actually bother to spend 30 seconds test firing my guns before packing them as they were working a few months ago when I last played, but some-fuckin-how my ACR sounds like it's stripped its' piston while sat in storage. It is the old PTS which is OEM by Ares though so if I left it compressed I guess the cheese gave way. My L85 (pictured) probably hasn't seen a game for pushing 6-7 years; the 345 FPS and high hop combined with me using up my .2s and a new optic was a recipe for shooting almost vertical - could not aim low enough to participate in the game and the hop dial kept spinning infinitely, which again I'm sure was fine when I put it away last. It was looking like I'd have spent my cash and fuel for nothing and would be heading home about 1030 as I didn't even bring a pistol. Obviously you don't quit til' all options are exhausted, so I took the bullpup apart, literally just looked and prodded a bit, looked down the barrel while adjusting the hop, reassembled carefully, adjusted the elevation zero as far as possible and in the end only missed maybe 45 minutes worth of play and the gun was running great after that. I've been bringing 2 long guns to games pretty much since I started and I couldn't believe it when I was facing the prospect of driving an hour back home before lunch frankly, stunned. That's life kicking me in the butt for being at this too long and getting lax, you can't let it happen as a walk-on. Anyway, mini review. Price is good (£25), main guy running it is excellent, tons of covered benches in the SZ, gents are not bad and actually had hand soap and paper towels, I think the water was drinkable but brought plenty. Burger van isn't bad at all, about £5.50 for chicken+bacon and some crisps since they don't do chips, quality middling but absolutely fine and they take card. Was slightly taken aback they site doesn't do card at this point, but then they'd have to put the price up in fairness, just wish this was made obvious on their website (unless I'm a total blind bat). We did start the safety brief almost 25 minutes late which frankly I was not impressed by, but the rule set seems decent overall, apart from perhaps the 'gas' (smoke) grenade thing which is weird. They say they spot chrono all the time but I didn't witness that, what I did witness was 2 marshals having their own little mini game within the game, also disappointing. I personally enjoy the fact of just leaving 2 chronos just outside the SZ for me to use myself, it's a pure honour game and on the one hand people can always modify and break energy rules, but if there's no morning chrono and rare (if any) spot checks I do have some small concerns. Considering how many were in attendance, a 97% well behaved bunch it would have to be said, seems a good place for that. There we a couple of kids and dragged-along girlfriends playing who seemed happy and content when I saw them which is a strong indicator. I think the game types sometimes made poor use of a very large site and I think they've bitten off more than they can chew in terms of areas/props as everything I saw was falling apart and full of rubbish. I wouldn't go back without a DMR/BASR either purely as those guys dominated given the layout, and it's a bit far for me to regularly travel given the layout doesn't lend to the closer in battles I like. If you want 'woodland' type ranges but with more features and lots of players though, absolutely, give a game a try.

SAPI dimensions are available on google. Any foam about an inch thick works well, either scrounged or a couple £ from ebay. Personally I have the PTS fake plates and these - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233479782680

Well of course that's taken as read, but almost no assault rifle style RIFs that costs more than a good batch CYMA with (at most) 2-3 hundred worth of upgrades will offer better range and accuracy. How much more of a dead horse can possibly be flogged than an idea that basic realistically? In classic hypocritical fashion the highly ironically condescending and unnecessarily foul reverse-snobbery has always been very much alive and well on this board. I don't see that ever changing so irrespective of it's pervasiveness I personally continue to come here anyway, because this is mostly a good site and definitely one of very few airsoft forums still left fairly active; most members are pretty decent folks overall. I also feel it's pretty important to try and keep boards like this alive as alternatives to the shit shows that are most airsoft facebook groups of significant size and not highly specific. I wasn't saying the Bolster is top value or that anyone should buy it, that's why I mentioned my own build in an attempt to imply that because said built is the path I'm following it's also the one I'd recommend; but that may have not been super clear and that's my error if so. But if someone out there with deep pockets wants a gucci AEG and doesn't have the utterly indescribably niche expertise to realise how else to spend that same money for something nicer/get the performance for less money, maybe being a fucking massive cunt to them isn't the way forward. Dunno just a thought that enters my mind. eta - not saying that's what people here did, saying it'd be an idea to avoid doing so.
-
Yeah if you buy that AEG then buy all the other stuff they've put in/on it, factor in the time to make it and then make a profit it's going to cost something like that... ish. Big whoop 🙆♂️ I've got a standard AR AEG build going on at LC's Engineering at the moment, will cost me a couple hundred more when all is said and done (spread out over many years), but it'll be far better in many, many ways. At least as far as I'm concerned personally. Most airsofters don't actually posses the depth of nerd knowledge relating to AR/AR AEG parts to know how to put together such a build though; sorry if that reads as pompous but believe me I do badly enough with the ladies to ensure you it is not - just a raw fact. If you want a super duper gucci gun and you have the money then obviously there's lots of platforms you can choose from but I'd say the AR AEG probably has the widest choice of parts to use and hence most customisation potential, especially if you have/know someone that has a good die set and a mill. Which is ironic because my own build when finished will look super generic and boring to 99% of people despite the rarity of the parts used, but I'm an objective weirdo like that.

Blimey, can't believe I'm seeing this name come up again. He's been scamming longer than I can remember so I'd certainly bet he's gotten incredibly good at it by now, had more than enough experience to be a real pro. Won't help much I know, but I wouldn't feel anything negative about the fact you thought he was genuine. As has been said here and a million times before (addressing all potential readers) - never ever ever undertake any transaction of any kind without paying the few extra £ to paypal. Normally I tell retailers in a polite way to get bent when they offer the 'extra insurance cover' bla bla bla, but with person to person business while the risk is actually low in the grand scheme of things it's just not worth the risk. Especially if you're on a budget and aren't conducting many transactions overall.

I've been waiting 8 years for justification to post these again. The Magpul 1911 grips and MOE stock are RS from the states and they may have been limited runs, or perhaps just the stock was. Prize pieces in my collection anyway.
-
Yeah if airsoft forums have taught me anything over the years it's that LiPos are ticking time bombs of mass destruction and we all need to get back to nice, safe NiMh. Can a ukara license fit through an m-lock slot if you fold it enough? We'll never know.

I hope she has but that's an AEG so I'm skeptical.

Worse. Probably Welsh.

Anyone bought/used Invader Gear QRB Reaper Vest?
TheFull9 replied to Asomodai's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
coz' i wanna Or, if you do end up being a player for life (and you'll have played a while already if you're buying the top tier shiz) you're nigh on guaranteed that item will last that entire time even if you play pretty often. -
Well, it took a while to setup the web store that'd actually do the job and it doesn't look fancy by any means but I got there in the end and it functions and has all the info so that's the main thing. I've not actually announced the release on social media or on my site yet and right now they're only available in the states, but if anyone was interested at all in seeing more info to include the pricing feel free to take a gander. https://thefull9.net/ah-a1/

TMs can be messed with inside but it'll most likely shorten the lifespan, potentially by a lot. The real MP5 barely kicks so trying to get the max recoil from a replica is kinda counter intuitive to some extent. For the second question, TM by a country mile there's no comparison there.
