what ever is as standard with G&G. just got a few shots off about 20 with a fully charged ni-mh. then went bact to beeping. about 1 per second.

If it has a G&G mosfet, then it probably needs an 11.1v battery,  One bleep per second is the mosfet registering low voltage and cutting out to protect the battery; they are generally set up for 11.1v, although my son had one that worked perfectly with 7.4v.

The other option is the SRC Mp5 (The more expensive one) These have true stamped steel receivers. Basic internals. But ripe for upgrading. I think it's a more accurate copy of the real thing then the ICS version. They also have the SD flavours.

I wouldn't mind the ICS CES-P if it was the MP5SD5 version.

With the SRC it is best to replace the gearbox and it’s contents and the awful hop unit; with a bit of surgery, the much better CYMA hop fits and works very well.

Allegedly, the receivers are made on presses originally used to produce MP5s in India.

  3. Today saw a return to Airsoft Plantation, near Braintree in Essex, for my son's first game since September 2022.

A cold morning saw probably about 150 people getting ready in the excellent safe zone; however, I always wonder why some players leave it to the last minute to arrive

As usual, the safety briefing was concise, to the point and genuinely amusing.  Immediately afterwards, the first game was briefed but then had to be changed to allow for a newly fallen tree to be made safe.  The schedule for the day was shuffled around with no fuss.

Airsoft Plantation do not chrono guns; chronos are available on the range and players are informed that it is their responsibility to ensure that their weapons are under the limit.  There is a lot of spot checking and anyone using a hot gun is "asked" to leave the site.

The games were well designed and well marshalled and generally played in a gentlemanly but competitive manner; there were a few allegations of non hit taking on both sides, but no more than would normally be expected.  At one point, in a squad based game, we did hear two nearby squads (one from each side) being instructed by a marshal to disengage and fall back in order to reduce tension; this seemed to be well handled by the marshal involved.

The games ran well, were challenging and were fun, although my view may be biased by our side (blue) winning all of them, despite an attempt to balance the teams.

Overall, my son and I had an excellent day; next stop is Camp Anzio, near Leek.

    Weapons used:

Me: Ares VZ58, PTS Masada (AK version), Milbro Classic M1911 CO2
Son: LCT AKMS, G&G AKM, ASG Commander XP18 CO2
Shared: JG G3A3 (first run out since being bought and upgraded)

The Area EFCS is a beefy looking mosfet with decent components, poorly designed and made. I am not surprised it drained the battery!

Poorly designed and made?  That is a massive understatement!

Ah perfect. I'll do that and keep my NiMHs back as backups.

Hopefully Perun do ETU++ with Tamiya connectors, if not I guess I just need to buy the Deans to Tamiya adaptor.

As far as I know, they only come with Deans.

You could always buy batteries with Deans or just change the Perun Deans connector to a Tamiya.

    Hey, thanks for the reply!

Both of my batteries are 9.6v NiMH.

I'll have a look at 11.1v in that case to see if that gives it more consistent power. Hopefully it's just that the 9.6v NiMH was dropping in voltage.

The G&G mosfets cut off when the battery voltage drops below a certain level.  That level is much closer to the full battery charge for a 9.6v than it is for an 11.1v.

The experience that you had is quite common when running G&G mosfets on anything lower than an 11.1v battery.

However, some G&G mosfets run fine on 9.6v, 8.4v or 7.4v; G&G sent me one when I had a conversation with them about it.

The best thing you can do is replace the mosfet (not the trigger unit) with a Perun ETU++; it does not mind which voltage you use and has a number of useful features.

Big thanks for all the advice guys,

I actually attempt to talk to her in person at her door (didn't step over the threshold) regarding the more important subject of contact with my son etc. And if I could have him stay with me for a few days. This was shot down straight away with lies about Children Services saying I'm not allowed to see him at all until Parenting Assessments are done etc. (No cautions against me or anything like that) I even called both 101 and Children's Services to ask if me going over there to talk to her regarding contact would go against me and they both said no.

Anyway, she gets on the subject of giving me my gun if I pay her money for it, I ask where it is and she tells me she's given it to her older brother and it's currently at his house! So now I have no idea if this is correct or not. But she's given it away to someone else and it's currently in their possession.

Forget about the toy gun for now and focus on how you can maintain a positive ongoing relationship with your son.  That has to be your priority; you can always buy another gun.

There's the thing, I bought a pair of those, loved the look & the build quality

    BUT

Sold them within a month, couldn't get on with them & they were agony on me within an hour every time I tried to wear them.

Whenever boots get mentioned I'm always quick to remind people that boots are like eyepro, we're all different so a perfect fit isn't guaranteed.

(prob doesn't help I'm missing a toe & the others are trying to spread to fill the gap, not a good look lol

    #monkeyfoot🦍

My current go to boots are Tactical Research minimalist, cross between a military boot & boxing boot, super lite & comfy.

I also got a pair of Aku's recently that I've yet to try properly, one can only hope🤞🙏

If you have bought issue AKU Pilgrim boots, take them back if you can.  The heels wear down very quickly and they are far from being waterproof, despite the GoreTex lining.

Have you used the Wii Tech hop up? I’ve read that the SHS hop up is decent but I can’t find much regarding the Wii tech

I haven't used the Wii Tech one as the SHS one does an excellent job.

I am looking at a G&G ARP9 on the sly for my lad and need to know if I can just change the ETU in it for a Perun ETU++ and if so, what type of ETU is it? A board like the ETU++ or a trigger unit that replaces the inner guts of the trigger?

The G&G ETU is a trigger unit and a board; you can swap the board part of it for the Perun ETU++.

Plenty  of vessels go back via Hamburg etc.  Germany has a positive trade balance with China.

In 2021, which is the last year for which full data is available, Germany's trade deficit with China was 39,399,934,000 Euros, which is Germany's largest trade deficit with any country.

According to the German Economic Institute (Institut der Deutschen Wirtschaft), the 2022 deficit was 41 billion Euros by the middle of 2022.
