  1. Stock of the 907 models seems to have disappeared at Patrolbase this morning, and the 906's have dropped to just the C version. There are still a selection of 904's but given how quickly the situation changed, their DE stock coverage might well be 'wide and shallow', if you catch my drift. So, damnit, I've been pushed into a corner! I HAD to buy one before someone else got there first! Tell the wife it was a GOOD reason I had to spend the money! M906C on the way tomorrow (I just refreshed the Patrolbase page, I may have nabbed the last 906, there are just two of the longer M904's and a pricier M908 left)
  2. Ummmm, I'm not really a fan of the super boxy guns like the Glocks and the Socoms etc, I'm really more into the 1911, the cz75 and the Browning hi power. While I was googling some of them I saw mention of the M45a1. That looks pretty cool, but it is another step up in price... £170. I think the £130 5.1 is where I should go Edit: seems I picked an expensive shop, the m45 is available down at £140 ?
  3. That's good to hear, thanks chaps Heroshark, was it you that mentioned somewhere about how good the New TM M9s are? Is that the gun with the new blowback unit?
  4. Ok so no one standing up for AA. But the only thing that still gives me some pause is that I hear the plastic slide will fall eventually and I'll need an Airsoft Masterpiece metal slide on a TM They're pretty damned expensive, looks like over £100 for that, would buy an awful lot of rubber seals...?
  5. So it's the battle of the old Champion Of The World versus one of the New Pretenders... Or to put it another way... A known reliable gun with massive upgradability but a plastic slide and a bit less power, versus a metal slide, powerful gun (330fps) with alleged shareability of upgrade parts, and perhaps more questionable reliability... But some spangly looks... (that's the 501) Apart from the polymer vs metal slide, there's also the price, £130 for the TM against £90/£95 for the AA. I'm not intending to upgrade either pistol once I buy it, it will be a backup in woodland games, not a primary for CQB (though never say never..) Is the TM worth the extra cost and the loss of the 'real-steel feel' of the slide, over the unknown reliability of the AA pistols? Also, the AA guns are I think mostly 4.3 barreled, would I lose much accuracy with the shorter length? Anyone have experience with both?
  6. There not much finer recommendation of a gun than buying a second variant of it...!
  7. Two versions have sold out now. Please everyone, stop saying how good they are until I've bought one ??
  8. I've not. The cheapest 906 has now sold out (e version) so I'm now at £170. Seeing as that's very close to the 907 prices I can go for one of those if the 6's sell out. The problem is my wife, frankly ?. If a big box turns up when she's around, she will know I've been spending and there'll be some 'sub-optimal scenarios' started. Or she doesn't see it, then she'll never know the difference to the bank balance (she never has the faintest clue unless I tell her), and she won't tell the difference with my other guns, I'd be fine. But sods law dictates the courier will turn up when I'm in a meeting, and she's home from her part time work, and she'll open the door to it! The alternative approach is I sell a guitar and can point at a wodge of cash I've raised. That will take a week or two though. And I'll have to say goodbye to a lovely guitar ?
  9. I am so very close on buying a DE M90... something. It's probably going to be one of the metal bodied versions, so 906 upwards, as they're starting at £160 at Patrolbase right now. But I need a final bit of advice: I'm looking at the DE site, and the Patrolbase info, and I'm struggling to understand the differences between the 906/907/908 series. I can see there are different barrel lengths, and slightly different flash hiders and rail styles... but is that it? The M906E is cheapest at £160, the M908A the most at £230... that's a big price difference - are they really just cosmetic differences, or is there more to it than that? Hmmm, talking of barrel lengths, I liked the idea of a compact gun, and I was looking at some of the really stubby PDW-style carbines before, but as I have a feeling this is going to be my primary for a while - should I take one of the longer barrel options for woodland combat? Does extra barrel length equate to better effective range on these guns?
