It was my first time here so I can't say friend invited me to try this site as it's his local them ditched me due to injuries so was forced to go solo. I would try it again but yeah almost a hour delay to start the game on an already expensive day rate does leave a sour taste in my mouth

Disappointed with my game today - headed to imperium in Kent. I'm used to games started at 9 so a 10am start had me anxious to get going but by the time they got players to the spawn and the objectives set up it was almost 11. Unfortunately I had to end my day at lunch as didn't feel too well but will have to go back again and see if I get a better experience.

Okay, so controversial topic. I'm assuming this persons disability is something like ASC (not allowed refer to it as a spectrum now, which in itself is silly as there's a clear difference between functioning and non functioning imho) Anywho, the biggest disservice believe it or not for those with ASC that you can do, is to treat them any different than regular folk. (Applies to what we would call functioning ones) So, this person had to be shown that what they did was wrong and banning them because of their actions puts people at risk is fair and reasonable. It's not discrimination to do. In terms of other disabilities - well, last year at driver wood there was a guy in a wheel chair (running) an LMG and other than the poor bastard getting overshot because he cant both keep hand in the air and wheel himself back to spawn. Airsofters will generally accept every one due to one simple reason. Don't matter what you look like, what you believe in, or what's wrong with you.....we will happily shoot you without hesitation.

Are teams with red armbands in the disadvantage?
SheriffHD replied to ParHunter's topic in General Discussion
I remember the good old days of Airsoft when it was green dpm Vs tan dpm with maybe one guy rocking some flecktarin But my take is muted colours blue and red. Purpose is to ID not being an obvious target. -
Had a disappointing day over at Gunman's Battle Lakes but still enjoyed myself. I'll start with what I liked - the marshalls were great, friendly and quick to reply to any questions I had prior to the day. The guys playing were grey guys. Only one concern with hit taken which was handled well. No over shooting and no excessive face shots. People seem to PID alot here and it makes for a better day. (Unlike other sites where people will full auto a bush and traumatise a poor squirrel if it rattles too suspiciously) Arriving at the site it has a good sized car park but the (un)safezone had concerns. You'll see a nice building which has heated toilets but quickly informed that they no longer have access to the building so players are forced in an uncovered garden which had one small canvas tent housing 4 people. Luckily it didn't rain as it'll mean all your gear getting soaked with no cover. And not alot of seating available either so if it's a busy day probably better to load out at your car instead. And instead of a shooting range told to stand by the entrance of the safezone and shoot at target in the field between car park and the safezone with no barriers of protection from any accidental misfires in the wrong direction. Anyway. The day it self. They operate filmsim rules so there's an element of roleplay. Also use classes with ammo limits which I'd like to see at more sites (no full auto unless you're a HMG for bursts only) and only basr allowed to ghilly up. Games had several elements to them and sub objectives to complete which if there were more numbers would of been great but as we had about 16 a side on such a good size map it made for slow fighting. Respawns were a movable flag moved by each team so talking to each other to know where we could respawn was a good idea to keep teams together with a main fixed spawn further back. Gameplay involved a nuke to recover and several drones around the map to retrieve. And to access the nuke we had to find letter around the map and solve the codeword to release the nuke for moving. I think because the class roles they implement here it meant there was very little overshooting and people were amazing at positive IDing targets before shooting. Why is that so uncommon now days I don't know but it's nice to see. I managed to get a good few rushes and get a few guys out which I was happy with. The day ended on a very disappointing note though. Got to about 3pm and it just seemed like there were no-one pushing the objectives. So mate an I roamed the entire map and didn't see a single person and that was sticking to the main choke points too. Turned out all but 2 guys on the enemy team decided to call it quits and normally when stuff like that happens the marshalls intervene and make changes but no such luck on this day so everyone iust waddled back and called it a day. I've always heard good things about battle lakes but based on that experience, while there was positives. The disappointment is hard to shake so wouldn't visit there again.

Driver wood can be a great site but it's very hit and miss depending on the day. Today it seemed pretty good for hit calls didn't seem to notice or hear many people moaning about it which is nice. The team balance today was awful, it's know that the regulars always go green which is why I like being orange because you normally need to fight harder and end up with more chances or good encounters. Today though green team seemed to push into the spawn zones very hard which takes away the fun for everyone and doesn't even make sense as to why someone would bother. The changes are nice to see but forcing the gameplay around the new bus which is so close to the spawn didn't help either as it encourages teams to spawn camp. And the clearance of alot of the bush also aids longer engagements but for me the concealment and path ways they had made for a fun maze of flanking, but I understand that they needed to make the changes as alot of players (newer) stuck to key open areas which made for slow gameplay in those sections and they wanted people to use more of the map. Accuracy through volume really does ring true here. So overshooting occurred alot today, it's dense so I know a few shots to get through the shurbs are needed but spray and pray when you see a bush move is annoying. Alot of friendly fire today - god it's like the wild west shoot first ask later. I think I must be one of the rare few who like to PID before taking a shot. Marshall were great - if you had an issue going up to them right away to ask was never an issue. They are making more changes, interesting to see what they do, I for one hope they sort out the spawn zones / change game mode rules for adaptive spawning.

Quite the necro post - but it's about driver wood which makes me tingle in my priesthood. Heard they were cutting bush and I admittedly got scared. So much concealment on that site makes for brilliant flanking but I understand why, because people stick to the main open areas and venture out very little. I'm there tomorrow too, I'll be the easiest target to aim for.

Start of the year didn't play a single time, nephew kept insisting I take him and now it's given me the itch again and I've been going twice a month. Downside to being an adult though is picking and choosing what hobbies to sink money into. Airsoft, golf, kayaking, and snowboarding when I can.

One thing I've seen a couple of times is people lying about what weight they use at the chrono.

Played Sunday at Driver wood - second time at this site now and I have to say it's quickly becoming my new go to. Perfect weather and great players, marshalls were on point and professional. Love how organised the site is and actually having fully plumbed toilets onsite is a luxury I don't want to go without. Game wise, two rounds of VIP to capture objectives, round of dash and grab for playing cards to score points and a classic zombies to finish of the day. Par from a couple of speedsofters that seemed to be annoying everyone it was a great day for players as it's always a friendly bunch. I managed to go ass over tits while trying to medic a guy only to get peppered to fuck while falling. Best part was two kids being in a tower. Managed to get right up to it without being hit but they went prone to try and stay safe. So typically I done what any one.would do, proceeded to jump on the shot and shoot while at the high point. Marshall behind us cracking up laughing.

I'm a Hastings player myself - imperium in Whitstable is an awesome site lots of vehicles but it's longer range engagements kinda site. Dogtag is a brilliant site nice safe zone and the area of play circles around the safe zone usually so you're never too far from a quick pitstop. Driver wood is a brilliant site for Airsoft. Has long site lines but enough bracken and bush to get good flanks which evens the odds when you don't have range on your gun.
-
Well if you're ever at dogtag or driver wood let me know. They are the two sites I go with my nephew (although more driver wood mostly due to proper toilets and not nasty ass porta-loos)

Oddly enough - our resus team state not to bother with the breaths being that there's enough residual o2 in the blood stream to sustain and ultimately keeping blood flow is the main priority, but then again our training is based on the fact we have a crash bag with air delivery options available and we have to wear ffp3 masks which prevents us being able to mouth to mouth anyway.
-
The training I was given stated that there's enough oxygen in the blood to not need to give rescue breaths during CPR and that you're better continuing with compressions. As for the song......baby shark do do do

Something worth for any first aid kit - aspirin. If you suspect someone might be having heart attack/chest pain popping an aspirin will buy some time. My first aid kit has; BP cuff, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, burn gel, ice pack, saline, gauze, bandage, tourniquet, gloves, notepad pen, trauma scissors and regular scissors and a two finger mobile EKG. And an assortment of paracetamol, ibroprofin, aspirin, glucose tabs, plasters. And it all fits in a nice little viper pouch that unfolds which is pretty nifty.

That peice is from the mock gas cylinder that's at the front I do believe. Should feel a slight spring tension when you slide it in. I've had mine 6 months now, on mine I've developed an issue with it shooting fully auto on semi but the plastic tip on the charging handle has stood up fine.

Selling my AA R36 and 5 leak free mags. Purchased new about 6months ago skirmished once and developed issue that I just can't be bothered to fix. Issue is that it'll fire fully auto on semi, even a quick pull of the trigger results in a double fire. It was two tone red which was attempted to remove but not successfully as the picture will show. Collection from Hastings or I can deliver it to sites in Sussex & Kent.£140

Low power ‘hit’ - bounce or direct hit?

God, seeing people's bbs fall short because you're out of range only to hear them yell "call your hits" -
Low power ‘hit’ - bounce or direct hit?
SheriffHD replied to ParHunter's topic in General Discussion
I'm a fat guy, ive got loads of juicy bits to hit. Always play by the idea "if I'm doubt, then I'm out" because a gentle walk back to spawn a sip of water and maybe a breather is what my knees need. What I seem to see alot lately is people shooting through dense vegetation every round bouncing in every which direction then having the gall to call people cheaters for not calling it. One kid got the drop on me, unloaded his mag from about 10ft I was more impressed that nothing hit me. Just stood there dumbfounded and asked if his gun worked - gave him the kill because it was a good ambush and he deserved it but it really highlights that we're playing with toys that don't behave like real guns and it seems alot of people are forgetting that lately. -
Not sure if it's me getting older or what not - but people seem to moan so much about hit taking now days. What happened to the mindset, assume I missed and keep shooting instead of people thinking they are John wick and never miss.

Second the statement about facepro....used to never use it and just accept guys shooting their load on my face. But after one BB hitting me open mouth and getting swallowed, once the flashbacks to catholic school passed I vowed to use facepro. Also, before the game starts get you and your mates to shoot each other first. It'll get you over the anxiety of "does it hurt" and help you enjoy the game from the get go. It's what I did with my 12 year old nephew admittedly I got a bit too much joy from shooting him but the little fucker kept taking the piss out of my name so worth it. Enjoy the game call the hits and enjoy the game.its not about getting kills it's about playing the objective helps to think that way so that you don't get wound up if you think people aren't calling hits.

You say you tried to change the spring, did you succeed in changing it or did you open it up get confused and put it back together. If you did change it then logic would say the spring is the issue. If you didn't manage that then it seems maybe something got thrown off. Not worked on a split gearbox my self so don't know what issues those may throw up.

The Emerson gear mk 3 is a tidy little vest. Will hold 6 m4 mags or 4 g36 mags. The bottom pouch has velcro too so you can add another 3 m4 or 2 g36 with ease. Front of main rig has elastic that can be removed and replaced with another velcro attachment if you wish or your favourite patch. whole thing is modula so can customise how you see fit. Very comfortable and lightweight. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/emersongear-micro-mk3-chest-rig

Looking like it's a tools out job followed by curse words, buyers remorse and a finishing move of " I overreacted" after yeeting the gun across the room......or is that just me that does that
