  1. @SovietSloth Hi, any particular reason for the M907D? The reason I ask is that the D's are bit of a grey area with their inner barrel not being short for CQB or long enough to be a potential base for a DMR, but it may just be that you like the look of it? If where you play has a 350 FPS AEG limit the shorter barreled M90X's will be around 340 to 345 out of the box. If you do want a longer inner barrel, are maybe thinking of the future and a DMR (as it would need a few tweaks), the M906A and M907A are a better bet as they both have 420mm inner barrels (but are out of stock everywhere in the UK). If you're itching to buy an M90X though Patrol Base are totally out of stock, however both Bespoke Airsoft and the dreaded BBGUNS4LESSS have stock 👍 If you're interested they still do, and this is their core business globally. For example the "discount" shop where I live has a few springers in their toy section, over 18's only of course wink wink (not for teenage scallys down the skate park), and half of them are Double Eagle's 😆
  2. @Jxmie I don't have any answers for you, however I'm intrigued by your post, and being a year into airsoft (and enjoying disassembling things as much as playing) I've gone through some of what you're talking about. Looking at your posts, and what you appear to be trying to build, my only thought is that you'll be creating something that will be almost always be red lining itself (motoring analogy). Low gear ratio, hair trigger, pre-cocking, 11.1v, performance motor, semi only are all factors that combined give you a Formula 1 car of a gun that will have a shorter lifespan as it's under such stress and may well shit itself badly at some point, all that energy being pushed thought the motor into the gearbox / it having to stop quickly on semi auto / hold that spring back 😔 I'll be honest in that if money was no object a lot of what you've said I'd be doing, but not unless I had a backup M4 that I always took to each game with me "just in-case".
  3. If you've got to stick to 350 FPS on 0.20g BBs be wary of going too long and too tight. If your M904G is behaving as expected and has a UK spec spring then out of the box it should be around 345 FPS so longer and tighter could take you consistently over 350 FPS and your gun being too hot 😔 I've not bothered with the barrel on mine, but I've changed a few other parts, as it's more than accurate enough for an up to 350 FPS AEG.
  4. The Action Army CNC Steel Hammer or the stock version 2 hammer found in the newer AAP-01's?
  5. 100% this, and I did the same before I got my UKARA as it was obvious what the purchase from the site shop was for 👍
  6. Well, I had a few hours spare so I thought why not try and break my M904E by taking the gearbox apart (my first ever gearbox disassembly!) to see if I can get back my missing 15 FPS, which turned out to be far more stressful than I thought it would be (and a test firing of just the gearbox in the receiver failed, s**t, until I realised the battery was flat). Bottom line is that right now I have to disassemble it again as the combined XT cylinder head and nozzle are too long so BB's are not feeding, the XT and stock nozzle are the same length though, so maybe a cylinder head or tappet plate problem? I see though that MAXX make all sorts of lengths of nozzle so I've bought a few of theirs as well (they do a 21.25mm, lengths seem to increment up or down by 0.25mm). The disassembly did throw up two interesting things though. First of all the bottom of the pistol grip is cutting into the motor wires... https://i.imgur.com/IhUDTtt.jpg ... and secondly I'd seen on some websites that the DE M90X's allegedly had a bearing on the piston head as well and they do!.. https://i.imgur.com/LVlAPn6.jpg ... and this has had no effect on my my Guarder SP100 spring which is still 17cm after around 10,000 shots. Edit: I also bought a Guarder tappet plate, on which the "fin" on the rear that connects with the sector gear is wider, and with this swapped in this morning we're feeding again and back to 345'ish FPS on 0.20g BBs 😁
  7. I know, but I've got a bit more time on my hands at the moment than usual so fancied playing around a bit 😁 To be honest I could probably just get away with just re-greasing the stock piston head and seeing what happens, but I've an itch I want to scratch.
  8. Was my order that obvious 😆 I'm thinking the piston head with a bearing, as the DE M90X's spring guide has a bearing as well, will probably compress the spring a bit more and with a better air seal take me over 350 FPS. We'll know in a few days...
  9. I thought I'd add a bit of info here about my M904E that others may find useful, as all DE M90X's are the same inside, and some work I'll be doing on it in the coming week or so. I've had my M904E for around six months, played six full days with it, and shot 15k to 18k of 0.25g BB's (I take well placed shots, but also enjoy playing a "support" role, so can get through them) all of which are having an effect on it. First of all the stock spring compressed, dropping 15 or so FPS, and replacing that got things back to how it was out of the box at around 345 FPS on 0.20g. However, my heavy use is now taking another toll, in that the gun is now down by another 15 or so FPS. I'm assuming the air seal is dropping off after heavy use, so I'll be cracking open my first ever gearbox (which I'm getting excited about). I've just bought various parts from AK2M4 as well as I thought I may as well swap out a few things, XT 14 tooth piston (CNC rack) + XT cylinder head + nozzles and a few other bits and bobs (plus a slightly weaker spring as I may possibly run hot after this). I'm still 100% of the opinion that DE M90X's are great guns for the money, my son has Santa dropping him off one, however I'm starting to see where potentially their cheaper parts / bill of materials / build is having an effect?
  10. A Maple Leaf Macaron 60 Degree and Omega nub are playing nicely in my stock DE M904E hop unit 👍
  11. Others might not be worried but that sounds horrendously low to me, that would have to be an immense amount of hop to rob you of around 70 FPS from a stock of around 340 FPS? I use 0.25g, the sweet spot for where I usually play, and with the hop set for this I still get around 335 to 340 on 0.20g when put through the chrono (and I'm going to test this myself again tomorrow morning, as I'm off work, to be 100% certain). I swapped in a Guarder SP100 spring a couple of months ago, the DE original had definitely compressed over around four full Sundays of play, however I'm also coming to the conclusion that the air-seal on DE M90X's is not as good as it could be (spring 2022 mine will need a good service and I think I'll swap in a better cylinder head, piston head and nozzle.
  12. @JakeF You have to get that grub screw out otherwise you'll never get the muzzle / flash hider off of it, also DE use a little thread lock on it so it's a total bitch to remove it. I got through a few allen / hex keys that just stripped themselves to nothing as the thread lock is blindingly strong. In the end I had to use the smallest one of these... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09BYJC2K7/?coliid=I1YDF0OCC4P0WM&colid=2BOB15BB0VKA5&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it ... to remove it (and my Acetech Brighter-C fitted perfectly).
  13. I don't know if you also want to be vaguely camouflaged or or not, but if not this armour is begging for some lighting on it to take it to the next level 👍 There's a very good YouTuber called "bigclivedotcom", totally my sort of content, and he recently linked to this Etsy seller... https://www.etsy.com/shop/Flashything ... who makes some excellent little boards with LED's that mimic retro sci-fi computers. Imagine one of these in your chest armour and one on a gauntlet 😁
  14. I've not been playing airsoft for long, but the hatred of bullpup's is not unfounded, they all just have compromised mechanics and are unreliable / have spongy triggers etc. no matter how cool they look. Watch a few Negative Airsoft videos and you'll get the idea out of your head 👍 However, as real firearms they're beautiful and a valid platform, and I love the P90 and Steyr AUG.
  15. I know it's just personal opinion but the price of branded goggles with fans in them is frankly bloody ridiculous. I've an ExFog, not everyone's cup of tea, but at say £70 for it + £15 for the helmet pouch you can then use absolutely whatever googles you want (a pair of properly safety rated Bolle Coverall Vented googles only cost £8).
  16. My Titan 3,000 mAh Li-Io was £36 from the site shop (but my membership does give me 10% off of all purchases). The way I play though it probably won't last me a whole day at my next game, at times my M904E may as well be an M249 😁 Edit: Also on Sunday just gone I probably used around 3,200 mAh of charge overall.
  17. Personally I'd never buy anything with a PDW style stock, battery options are totaly shit unless you have a PEQ box / the battery mounts in the front. My son has a Firehawk (which we've modded a bit), and my primary site uses them as rentals, and they genuinely have a lot of plus points but they're massively let down by their mechanical trigger. It's so easy to not pull it fully / hold it in long enough for the gearbox to fully cycle on semi-auto and end up with a jam, with you then having to flip to auto to cycle the gearbox. After Santa pays him a visit this year I'll be bravely, or stupidly, attempting to fit a GATE Aster or Titan in it in the New Year and at that point it would become a beast of an AEG as it has a huge air volume. Personally, and this is a bit "out there", if I wanted to use M4 / Stanag mags but have something stumpy I'd be seriously considering the... Specna Arms Rock River Arms SA-E18 EDGE ... which you could even end up using as a sidearm with a DMR or sniper.
  18. The Rate of Fire (RoF) will be slower with a 7.4v LiPo, and personally I only ever play with 11.1v LiPo's in my M904E and it's never skipped a beat (my FPS is around 340 on 2.0g bb's). I can only use auto at one site I go to and on a 11.1v the RoF is more than good enough to lay a hail of plastic down. My only battery problem is that my capacity is too low on those I have, but I bought a 3,000 mAh Titan LiIo today at the site shop so fingers crossed this will be a beast.
  19. Ouch, those looks better be beautiful for something that costs £30 more than an AAP-01 (and when I first got mine it did 330 to 340 FPS on Nuprol 2.0 and this was in chilly old December).
  20. I'd say for a small home business they're very well made, they do feel very well stitched together and mine and my son's have had loads of abuse. Before the Delta Mike I wore this... https://nuprol.com/np-mesh-lower-face-shield-v3-camo.html ... and God knows how but after a round it always felt way more damp on the inside (at times to the point where a shake of it flew off loads of water droplets, yuck). This is pretty much pseudo science but my face felt colder with the Nuprol mask so I'm assuming the water vapor in my breath condensed quicker with it, but the Delta Mike feels noticeably warmer so maybe the water vapor condenses slower / is more dispersed? Either way I'm very happy with my Delta Mike and need to buy a few more with different patterns, and maybe one day they'll bring out their rumored second version with nose protection. The only downside I've experienced is that you need to be careful with where the toggle that tightens it up goes, I've had it too high on my head occasionally and you don't initially notice but as soon as a game starts I then feel it being pushed into my scalp by my helmet (and it bloody well hurts like hell).
  21. I run an ExFog, it makes a huge difference, however a cheaper but substantial change for me was dropping using a mesh mask just like yours. It channeled my breath straight upwards at my goggles and made a bad situation much worse. A Delta Mike snood has been so much better, however you do run the risk of a BB hitting your nose (just look at my avatar, it's only happened once though, and it was an intense firefight that also smashed my red dot).
  22. So far this is the only part of my M904E that's annoyed me, I had to use an easy out / screw removal tool today to get the grub screw out, it was the only thing that worked (but the flash hider itself easily came off with bare hands).
  23. @RostokMcSpoons Are you still buying yourself a PTS EPS stock? If yes wait until you have it, it's like going from a shed in your back-garden to an aircraft hanger, the space inside it is immense and you can fit practically any battery you want to. There are more than enough photo's of it out there, however I'm happy to pop a few different batteries in mine and take a few photo's if it helps.
