  1. Worthwhile loading them up with cheap 0.20g BB's fully first and leaving them loaded for a week or so (taking a little tension away from the spring).
  2. No "counter" but a good alternative... https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/emg-230rnd-daniel-defense-mid-cap-magazine-for-m4-ar-15-6-pack ... but to honest the orange counter in the EPM1 is really only for guidance as it's (edit) inaccurate. I'd say overall the updated PTS EPM1 is still king for me. (Editing coz I can't spell / am stoopid)
  3. It's easy peasy, it's only held in with one screw (sometimes there's a little hot glue holding its wiring in place inside the gearbox shell). Also you should only have to swap it in, the existing sticker on the selector plate should be fine. Also the Falcon has an always only light level of active braking, so you'll also need to enable this, but only a slight amount.
  4. I agree that it sounds like the Falcon is dead, however the GATE Titan II is an exact fit and 100% works with the stock trigger (the Falcon is basically a cheap GATE Titan II clone with a lot of the configuration abilities / features not present)
  5. A handbag... https://tenor.com/en-GB/view/funny-meme-purse-shooting-star-gif-8129324360720612487
  6. There's zero chance that at £489.99 the PTS AEG is substantially better than say a £319.99 Novritsch SSR4 MK2. Is PTS's "magic faery dust" genuinely worth £170? I'd rather buy a £180 DE M900 and spend £80 on replacing it's weaker parts.
  7. Some other discussions online are leading me down a dark path, in that I quite fancy building (for the fun of it) a "Wanker Gun". So far all of my airsoft toys have been focussed on a snappy semi-auto, overall range, DMR or bolt-action but I fancy building an AEG that's got a stupidly fast full auto (even though I probably won't be able to actually skirmish with it). The weirdness in me though wants it to be an AEG and also be single sector, not a DSG, and a brushed motor (no HPA on this journey baby). A strong springed mid-cap magazine would also be used, I've a few PTS EPM1's, to feed it. Has anyone else gone down this route and do you have any advice? (other than don't f**king do it). If you've dabbled what sort of RPS did you achieve? (as an aside I want to do this with a Double Eagle M900 AEG, so hopefully I can find a cheap used one).
  8. This, and it's also the reason why you get the best out of them with Maple Leaf inner barrels as well. The MR is a great bucking with a large and long patch so you can apply light but consistent hop, no heavy pressure that has to be applied to a very small area. AK2M4 understands this and its why his own XT inner barrels have larger windows. It's also why I really like the combo of Maple Leaf MR bucking + their inner barrels + the hard concave nub of the Maxx Model M4A-PRO hop unit, light consistent hop robbing the BB of less energy. Stick with a Macaron, or one of the newer 4UAD's, if you've a small / standard window, but if the window is big enough MR is king.
  9. Your pathetic existence will bring no meaning to anyone, whilst other around you will find joy and love, and you cat hates you... did that help?
  10. And to me personally the stupid thing is that the AEG isn't even worth £290 new, in that this is crazy money for an AEG with a very basic inline MOSFET, there's no optical cycle control so you could still easily get jams on semi. £300 would get you a nice new AEG with at least a GATE Aster in it 🙄
  11. Hopefully from a certain Heroic Elasmobranch Cartilaginous Fish gentleman? (I sent him a pair of my Guard Dog Evader 2's to put his mesh in, with a multi-cam paint job, and I use them all the time as a DMR / Sniper. However, I have eye glasses under them and somehow these still steam up a little so I still run an ExFog on my boonie)
  12. I'd say that there's something wrong with the feed lips, the BB can't into them, rather than a spring problem.
  13. Are you talking yourself into buying a TAC-41 😉
  14. That's sounds very logical and probably what's happened here. Yes it's a mongrel but now a very nice one 😀
  15. You can sort of see it in one of the existing photo but I'll share a better one below. I wonder is APS AEG's use CYMA gearboxes or make their own...
  16. Well, I think I'm safe in saying this, but I'd say the issue was 100% their fault as Bespoke Airsoft and iWholesales are both in the same building and run by the same people. Here's some evidence for you... https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07676829 https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11367833 ... and you can use Google Street View to see the building they're both in with all of their signage. There will be very specific reasons why James / Jaeger Precision split with them, I think there was bad blood / something in the relationship went wrong. Personally I'd go nowhere near Bespoke Airsoft since he left them.
  17. "My First Airsoft": Airsoft what? A rifle, pistol, LMG? "Feeling Cute": Oh just f**k off you needy muppet. "Other Wanky Post Subjects": Stupid Americans 🙄 I try my best to re-direct UK people to here 👍 Edit: For example... https://old.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/1ixj4p9/feeling_cute_might_delete_later/ 🤮🤮🤮
  18. Over a year ago my youngest son spent his own money on a used AKM being sold by a local shop's staff member, which on paper looked sweet, however it was very unreliable with the Perun optical controller just craping out every few shots. Finally bad Dad has sorted it out and installed a GATE Titan v3 and a 27k Warhead brushless motor, with it now running very well (especially on full auto). With it having now been worked on by me I've taken a few photos that were interesting and have a few questions for others. When he first bought it and when it did work, for the first few shots, it had great range and consistency and a few things probably helped this in that there's a 3D printed block keeping the hop unit steady, the inner barrel has PTFE tape wrapped around it, and there's also a sliver of a tin can and masking tape below the inner barrel at the front of the receiver (all of which I suppose kept things very much in-place). Is this all a smart thing to do with an AKM? It's no specific brand either, it's very much a mongrel. The gearbox is CYMA, and like a boneyard CYMA MP5K I sorted out there was this awful thick green grease in it which I had to clean out. The receiver and wooden furniture is a bit of a mystery, I've no idea where the wooden furniture is from, however the receiver says on the bottom it's APS and the front left of the receiver has painted Russian symbols and numbers.
  19. I've finally sorted out my son's AK that he's had for well over year, which I now understand is an AKM? It didn't come with a mag, so the one I've bought may not be historically accurate, and the small tube at the bottom is missing (I've no idea what it's called). It's a mongrel with a CYMA gearbox but an APS receiver and possibly the rest of it as well, and now a GATE Titan and a Warhead brushless 27k and half a day of my sweat a tears (I must do a full post on it as AK aficionados may find it interesting)...
  20. You could argue the toss back and forth, however as Patrol Base finally have these back in stock... https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/emg-230rnd-daniel-defense-mid-cap-magazine-for-m4-ar-15-6-pack ... I'd just buy a pack and that's you and your wife sorted for a very good price👍
  21. As an AEG DMR player to get the best you need to commit to the "very very very very very fine-tuning" lifestyle to get the best out of them, but moving around without a "tank and line" is so much nicer The trifecta for me has been air volume + hop + BB weight, get these all perfect and you're there (so me = full cylinder + Maxx Model M4A-Pro / Concave Metal Nub / Snipetor patch + 0.40g).
  22. Starting to repair a boneyard AK-47, wires soldered to motor tabs, WTF! 😡

Hmm, I guess an argument can be made that 2.8mm spade connectors that were fine for 8.4v nimh driving a 1990s motor at 10rps might be the resistory part of an 11.1V 30rps wankergun setup.

      [Looks at G36 with intent]

is it a 74U? worried this may be my doing... I know very little about AEG repairs and knew even less back then, but when trying to repair a krink (that i later sold on) i snapped the motor tabs with relatively little force, soldering them back on seemed like the simplest solution? what should i have done instead?

      @ruben0 You're fine, it's actually an AKM :) (I'm slowly learning more about AK's)

  23. I'm going to be controversial but that's why sometimes it's better to hit an area of the target that's more likely to feel the shot if you know what I mean, sorry 😔
