Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger
Fatboy40 replied to mightyjebus's topic in AEG/GBBR Reviews
@Gonz. I still run the standard inner barrel in my M904E, which is exactly the same as the M904G apart from the buffer tube / stock, as my FPS on 0.20g is around 346 so don't want my gun to be hot. I run an ML Macaron 60 degree and Omega nub in the stock hop unit, and agree that the ML bucking is tight, you do have to use some force and possibly a little silicon oil to get it to sit well on the barrel and have the "patch" properly in the barrel's hole (the lip has been fine for me). I'll be honest in that I know the bucking is not sitting 100% perfectly, however it hops perfectly and grouping is spot on. -
Best out of the box AEG Rifle for <£500?

I think they no longer qualify as "friends" then ? -
@rocketdogbert That's interesting as I'm in England and I last order from them, with a successful delivery, in May 2021. Admittedly it was just components and not a RIF.

Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger

DE also manufacture under the "QAP" brand (which appears to me more prevalent in Japan?), Cactus Jack is a new one on me, thanks for the heads up. The Guarder SP100 has sorted things nicely, and AK2M4 has said that he's noticed hardly any compression of the spring in his own testing (which I think has gone into the tens of thousands of shots). I'm still running the OEM inner barrel, however an ML bucking and nub, and I doubt I'll change it as I'm right at the UK AEG limit FPS wise and with the ML bits my grouping is more than good enough. (I'm hoping to spend my Xmas bonus on an M904F though, build a DMR with it, and that will more than likely get a different inner barrel). -

100% not UK as you can't get the tan M90X's over here. @Str8airsoft I lost FPS in my M904E as well (same rifle as yours apart from the stock). The problem for me was that the spring in it is a bit cheap and nasty and had compressed over time, losing me around 25 to 30 FPS on 0.20g BBs. A Guarder SP100 spring brought things back to normal (the compressed stock DE spring was 10mm shorter than the Guarder SP100, and the DE spring also did not have tighter coils at one end). -
2nd time at Camouflage Airsoft in Alton, the head marshal there runs things very well (a player himself). The forest and ground cover there is perfect, just the right amount. Also I encountered my first airsoft player cliché, the player who's literally indestructible, getting hit by hundreds of BB's whilst sprinting in the open and not taking a single hit, who then leaves at lunch time. For those who were there we shall call them "Mr Pink" ?

I bought an "FMA Fast Helmet Upgraded Liner Kit L/XL - Black" from Socom a couple of months ago, they sent me the tan instead, so even a standard order is enough of a Mystery Box for me thank you. (I just needed it asap, so I ran with the tan anyhow, but sent them a courtesy e-mail to let them know so they can adjust their stock / warehouse system but they didn't bother to reply to me. I will not use them again.)

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Well, not really "bought" but my wife gave me one of these yesterday in Flectarn (along with a Viper hoody)... https://www.helikon-tex.com/en_eur/bl-pat-hf-patriot-jacket-double-fleece.html ... for my birthday and I'm a very happy husband ? However, does anyone have any idea what the huge double sided pocket is for on the lower back of it? (all I can think of is it may be for a heat-pad of some sort?). -

@GoopGoop I understand what you mean, however the DE M904R from Taiwan Gun if bought directly would be... £98 for the rifle. Approx £15 for the shipping. Approx £20 for the VAT. Handling charges from UPS of say maybe £30. ... so we'd be talking approx. £163 in total vs £170. Now, if Patrol Base themselves don't slap on any outlandish charges of their own the difference is not that great, plus you get the comfort of knowing that the Home Office Border Force hopefully won't sit on the delivery for ever and UPS won't leave it in a warehouse for months. I suppose until we hear from someone who's used the Patrol Base service we don't know for certain the outcome (and if by mid-October 2021 Patrol Base themselves don't get a re-stock of DE rifles I'll be asking them their exact costs for at least 2x DE M904E's). -

@Monkman Is there a reason why you didn't buy it direct from Warhead Industries? (I ask as I'll probably be buying a standard speed one for a DMR I intend to build over Christmas). -

Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger
Fatboy40 replied to mightyjebus's topic in AEG/GBBR Reviews
@mightyjebus Not a gun I'm particularly interested in, however a Honk Kong reseller that ships that quickly with no problems is very interesting (as Double Eagle has no stock of anything anymore in the UK). Was this sent to the UK or elsewhere? -
Well, after bit more testing in daylight the FPS was only lower due to a huge amount of hop, BB's after maybe 10 or so meters just flew up like a rocket, so no 200mm inner barrel Next stop an "ICS 6.04mm Inner Diameter 160mm Length" inner barrel, fitted this evening. So with only a light amount of hop applied, it doesn't need much going from the stock G&G geared hop unit and bucking to the ZCI plastic rotary hop unit with Macaron bucking and Omega nub, it's getting a consistent 346 FPS on 0.20g's and my son is very happy (up 26 FPS from stock). He's probably getting a better rifle for Christmas, if the UK gets any stock of what I want to get for him from China, and if he does the devil in me wants to try something like a ZCI 340mm inner barrel just to see what the full cylinder can do with it ?

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

My first purchase from Warhead Industries in the UK, hopefully my next will be a brushless motor for a DMR build... https://imgur.com/Q9pEeBO ... and it's identical in size etc. to same spec Nurpol batteries I've bought but £5 less (and they do a few others, so maybe a good alternative to HobbyKing when they have nothing in their UK warehouse?). -
(I wanted to try and add my reply to an existing thread, contribute to it rather than starting a new one, as I've just made a small upgrade to my sons G&G Firehawk (standard model)) As I needed to get a new spring for my AEG from ak2m4 I thought I'd get a few parts to tweak my sons stock G&G Firehawk. He loves it as it's his first AEG, but it's noisy (I've already replaced the amplifying flash hider) and after playing with my DE M904E he really wants some more FPS to try and compete a bit better (he's getting very good, on his best day recently he had a 12 kill streak playing CQB). So, I bought for him a ZCI rotary plastic hop up unit (the stock is a geared one), ML Macaron 60 degree, ML Omega nub and a 200m ZCI 6.02 inner barrel (the stock is 120mm and I think 6.05?). My first shock when taking the Firehawk apart was that it has a full cylinder, I wasn't expecting that. All the above parts fitted with no issues at all so on to a chrono, and with no hop at all it was getting 376 FPS on 0.20g It was getting dark in the garden so I applied some hop, maybe a third of a full turn, and I've no idea if the BB's were skying or not, but it brought things down to a better 346 FPS. I'll have to try it again outside at the weekend, somewhere a lot more open to see the path of the BB's, but with the stock spring (relevant to the original post) and cylinder and extra 80mm of inner barrel add a heck of a lot more FPS

Helmet Cam For Personal Use, Does It Make Me A Nobber?
Fatboy40 replied to Fatboy40's topic in General Discussion
@Brophy I'll always be wearing a helmet now that I'm 100% committed to using an ExFog as it works perfectly for me, so I think I'm going to give it a go, and have a few video memories for when I'm old and dribbly. -
Helmet Cam For Personal Use, Does It Make Me A Nobber?
Fatboy40 posted a topic in General Discussion
I enjoy airsoft, I like playing it with my son, I'm an "average" player who has lucky days now and again, I like seeing photo's that the site may have uploaded of the day as they bring back good memories. However, I'd quite like to see back what I personally saw on the day, was the epic shot I thought I made actually terrible and the "movement" in the bush was just a pigeon, see where the sneaky person who shot me in the head was hiding etc. So, as I'm no Carlos the Jackal, would people think I'm a bit of a nobber if I put the smallest camera I could on my helmet to record video for my own personal use? I'm old enough to rarely give a shit about what people think about me anymore, however I don't want to embarrass my son or have others at a site point and laugh ? -
I've a nose like Rudolph, got hit between my goggles and Delta Mike (lots of blood, very little pain), smashed glass in my red dot, but the best Sunday game I've ever had

Should I feel ashamed if this is sort of a goal for me? (am I now off to the Airsoft Forums UK sin bin for 24 hours with Kicking Mustang videos on a continuous loop)

Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger
Fatboy40 replied to mightyjebus's topic in AEG/GBBR Reviews
Interesting to note. Before I even used it in anger a ML Macaron 60 degree went in it, I've been using it with 0.25's, and accuracy for me has been pretty good with an effective range of around 40 meters. What do you personally consider as a "longer range"? -

All I'd say is be cautious about rating systems that could have an effect on the public perception of a business (and its bookings / revenue), the business may expect some sort of arbitration system if a dispute over a rating occurs, it could be legally a little sticky? -
Be aware that they take an absolute eternity to arrive, two months later I'm still waiting for mine, they have to wait until AW ship them to them first as a special order. Just like the AAP-01 hammer it's only a matter of time until the AW drum mag clockwork spring goes if you use it heavily (I repaired mine but it's never felt the same since).

Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger
Fatboy40 replied to mightyjebus's topic in AEG/GBBR Reviews
My M904E has just only had a Maple Leaf Macaron 60 Degree swapped out with the stock bucking, and it hops the 0.25's I use fine (the motor did give off that "new" electrical smell until it had been used a few times). If you bought the one from Patrol Base it's practically spot out of the box getting 340 FPS +/- one or two on 0.20's, so if you have a 350 FPS AEG limit at your favourite site there's little to do other than the bucking for better grouping / possible hopping heaving BB's (you could easily hop 0.28's with a Macaron for some more range but will lose some speed).
