  1. For me a Maple Leaf Autobot 60 Degree 2021 Silicone, just that on its own, radically changed the accuracy / grouping. Previously shown veered slight to the left and grouping was OK'ish, post the Maple Leaf swap shots were dead center and 20m or so grouping was infinitely better. The stock hop unit is great, I saw no need to replace it.
  2. I bought a couple of Delta Mike Face Pro Snoods for myself and my son, we've been using the big clunky Nuprol Mesh Lower Face Shield V3's as I'm a bit paranoid about protecting our face and ears, and last night I properly tried mine out and it's a revelation. With the Nuprol ones being so big and clunky when I looked directly down I saw almost nothing as they obscure my vision, going down the stairs at Z-Mart in Newbury is more luck than skill and I couldn't properly look at my chest rig either. Now I can see so clearly when looking down, and it feels like my breath isn't now being directed upwards into my goggles. I'm just worried now about getting hit on the nose and ending up looking like a drunken Irish stereotype.
  3. @mightyjebus How you getting on with your M908B? (in your photo though it looks a lot more like an M904F with the smaller stock and longer barrel). I fancy a DMR as well now, based on an M908A so that I have a longer inner barrel + a single selector on the left hand side (I keep accidentally nudging the ambi one on my M904E when swapping from a right to left hand) + metal receiver (and I'd swap out the bucking and spring, and possibly the cylinder and piston).
  4. I personally get a little triggered by the amount of money that people spend on the AAP-01, as like you said it's almost close to the best it could ever be straight out of the box. Unless you live somewhere where the ambient temp stays at the same all year round, our you use it with HPA, why spend hundreds and hundreds on something that could be a compromise 6 months of the year (I just don't understand those who spend hundreds modding it to a DMR when a AEG DMR would always be cheaper and better).
  5. Today (south of England), drank at least 3 liters of water (with one of the2 liters bottles being frozen), went home at 1 pm as it was just too hot, and still got a stonking headache ?
  6. Can I ask what you're expecting to gain from it? (better accuracy, higher FPS etc.). For the money the M90X range is stonking value, and I quite fancy one day getting a longer barrelled one to create a DMR, but I've a feeling the gearbox shell won't be anywhere near strong enough to cope with the stresses and would need to be replaced.
  7. Bloody hell, I've got both and this is a £90 pistol and a £25 holster brand new (you may even be able to pick both up for less), what planet are they on?
  8. I've given up on my AW drum mag until I've the cash to HPA tap it as well and get a small tank etc., the gun and mag just get so cold when used heavily that output valve just keeps craping out on me and other problems keep happening
  9. There's nothing wrong with William Shatner "singing" Rocketman, he knocked it out of the park with his sophisticated cigarette smoking style.
  10. Well, I've only had it for one evening (post England beating Germany), and I'm very happy with the M904E as it's so much gun for the money. I paid £170 for it and I suppose the closest AEG I've held / used that's a direct price comparison is the G&G CM16 FFR A2 which costs £165 and has an electronic trigger and standard MOSFET, but that piddly £5 difference gets you a programmable MOSFET + slightly higher FPS out of the box + higher RPS + quick change spring (my son's G&G Firehawk feels terrible in comparison, I think I know what he'll be asking Santa for). I bought Nuprol 1300 mah 11.1v 20c LiPo's to go with it, and in semi spamming the trigger I can't come anywhere close to outracing the gun which put a big smile on my face. No problem with the PTS EPM 1 mags either. I did a quick chrono on 0.25's and got around 295 FPS / 1.03 J, so I suppose around 330 FPS on 0.20's so not bad out of the box. I've a Maple Leaf Macaron 60 degree ready to swap in, I'm not expecting any FPS improvement from it but better grouping, so next pay day will be time to play around with springs (although the buffer tube seems to provide slightly worse access to it than the PDW stock from photo's, in that there's less light getting into the tube to see what you're doing) and maybe think about a slightly tighter inner barrel / better hop-up unit. Something worth noting is that the cover for the quick change spring protrudes a little into the buffer tube so a long battery does stick out. Also I wish the buffer tube had a sling plate on it like most other M4's, a very small thing I suppose, but it makes the gun hang lower on my sling than I'd like it to. Edit 1: Had more time to fart around with it now on a fully charged 11.1v LiPo and with the Maple Leaf 60 degree in it. Getting around 308 FPS / 1.08 J on 0.25's now and way tighter grouping.
  11. 45p for a 2 litre bottle of it from Lidl, I bring a few of them with me, all I need (if I wasn't lazy / knackered at the end of a full days game I'd take the bottles home and refill them next time).
  12. @leadly Just be aware that a non-standard trigger will prevent you from being able to use the CTM holster if you have one of those (even AA's own adjustable trigger).
  13. Done and dusted... M904E + 2x 1300 mah 11.1v batteries + 2x EPM1 mags + Maple Leaf 60 degree Macaron. My next game is not until 18th July so I'll part fill the EPM1 mags and leave them for a few days at a time to try and weaken the spring in them a little. Has anyone here played around with the spring in the M904 and tried it as a DMR?
  14. And this is a great video to follow for the swap out... https://youtu.be/FQhVwcOeQ6A ... just take it steady and watch out for all of the springs trying their best to escape from you.
  15. @Madhouse How did your nose hold up to the "smelly stairwell"? When I was there a few a weeks ago the BB hits were so close they drew blood.
  16. Maybe it's worth more due to the "miner" scratch, there can't be many miners left in the UK now, so it's a rare item ?
  17. That guy that saw the YouTube videos, bought the AW drum mag, has suffered with cooldown / a knackered drum mag spring / sticking output valves / a gas burn on his hand / broken hammer? I'm that guy, but I wish that I wasn't ? (love my AAP-01, quirks and all, but the AW drum mag has been an absolute bitch)
  18. How have you been getting on with loading them? Do you need to be the Hulk to load them fully once the spring is under tension? (seen a lot of this on YouTube, and Negative Airsoft ripped right into them). Do you find it performs much better on 11.1v? (snappier trigger response etc.). I've not decided what to use yet, most sellers of it say 11.1v but some actually say no more than 7.4v so a little confussing.
  19. ... add in "and my son loves it too" and those are my three reasons for getting into it. My eyesight is not 100%, I'm overweight, I'm not rich, but if I have some fun then I've "won".
  20. I'll be buying an M904E this week so I was wondering what the consensus is on compatible mags? I'll probably be buying either PTS Syndicate EPM 1's or NUPROL M4/15/16 350 Rnd Hi-Cap N-Mag's (probably the PTS as I don't want the mag to not be able to keep up), unless anyone thinks they'll have trouble fitting or be a bad choice?
  21. I'm too tired to disassemble it yet, but I'm assuming so (and it's a 1st gen one, so original pants hammer). Probably around 1,500 shots I'd say (all semi, apart from a few test shots on auto when I got in December 2020 to play around).
  22. Well, mines dead now, set to semi and one trigger pull = burst of auto and huge dump of gas (and a shitty rental AEG for the rest of the day). Something's broken / snapped, but at least I'm not playing again until mid-July.
  23. UKARA ? Dead AAP-01 ?
  24. Cooldown is why I haven't, and won't, be buying a Black Mamba and end up with all that metal retaining the cold. The drum mag does have an effect though, in that for me it encourages me to spam the trigger a lot more, and I then have to consider how I manage using the pistol as a primary and factor in short periods for it to warm up again before pushing / engaging anyone. At the weekend I'm becoming a member of my local site, which then gives me free on-site HPA refills, so I'm seriously considering tapping the AW drum mag for this as it's just swapping out the input valve (and then putting the gas one back in afterwards and using some maintenance gas for the seals) so no more cooldown worries.
  25. My preferred local site has worked hard to get things back to normal, they've put the effort in, and due to this I've decided that I'll buy my BB's and gas from there rather than online even though they cost a little more as they deserve to recover from all this mess.
