  1. Negative Airsoft is in love with them so they must be good Seriously though they've got a very good rep, and the 32's and 28's I bought were spot on (and I noticed quite a few players furtively looking at the bags due to the Warhead name and logo), but it's hard to get a really poor BB unless you spend peanuts on them.
  2. Warhead Industries sell their BB's in some pretty big sizes, e.g. up to 20 kg, but the shipping costs can kill.
  3. Following on from Hamster that rifles bound to have a completely mechanical trigger, so this sort of setup... https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/trigger-switches/ec-trigger-switch-v2-rear-wired ... and getting a very short trigger pull will be challenging with the mechanical contacts. It's easy to say if you have the money and the skills, but swapping my son's G&G Firehawk to a GATE Titan and Maxx Model trigger massively improved the gun, and the trigger pull now is very short (by adjusting the trigger and the Titan's settings). As I said though it's not cheap, and comes quite close to say the cost of a brand new Double Eagle M900 that already has an optical controller and some trigger sensitivity adjustment.
  4. "Tuppence"... steady on there Grandad ?
  5. How funny will it be, that after spending almost two grand, someone on the other team with a DMR that cost them maybe £600 all in will out range you ? (All that money and it's using a bloody Macaron, they couldn't be bothered with an MR? Why a 36k RPM Warhead when you'll be semi only and only need torque and not speed? I'd love to to test it against my Double Eagle M908A with some 0.40g BBs)
  6. 100% certain that your battery is charged? Does it do the same on full auto? (to discount the tappet plate sticker) Try the motor outside of the gun to see if when connected, and the trigger is pulled, it does spin (hold the motor very tightly in case is does) (checks if the gearbox is locked / damaged in some way). If no joy with anyone of the above return it under warranty and you've probably got a "Friday afternoon" Falcon controller
  7. @TheFull9 What colour were you? (I was a yellow, and there with my son) Ironsight is my local, but I've not played there since the late summer. Yesterday was about 15 or so players down from their usual, so you probably played on a better day as when it's sold out you have almost too many players and get log jams + less seating + the car park can get chocka. There was definitely one guy there yesterday, not a regular, who liked the sound of his own voice and moaned to the other players and marshals constantly about everything as loudly as he could ? I think yesterday was only the second time they played the close range tunnel game, I've got so many bruises from the full auto at the end, bloody brilliant! ? (I get to role my sleeves up and pretend to be well 'ard at work) Edit: They have the HPA primarily as they do a lot of paintball as well for corporate events, but it's definitely not a site that's full of speedy bois, you get a really good mix of play styles and loadouts.
  8. You don't get this from a stock rifle, you will have to do some upgrading It's taken me time, and I'm afraid a lot of money, so get my 1.14 Joule rifle to the point where it can hop 0.32g BB's damned well so that I can play CQB and also get a range that's somewhere between a stock rifle and a DMR.
  9. Playing yesterday I ended up boxed into a corner in a maze like building, so used my AAP-01 instead of the AEG and crouched down and made myself small. Got a nice streak of kills, but the pistol was probably way too loud (and on Nuprol 3.0 / red gas). I use a CTM holster so can still use any accessories I want, so I think I need to add a "good enough" suppressor that's not wallet busting, and one that's not too long (no longer than 100mm I think?). Anyone able to kindly recommend one in stock with a reputable UK supplier?
  10. Like others have said probably ever so slight miss-alignment, which is why I just use things like this... https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/external-parts/outer-barrels/xt-outer-barrel-extension-2-inches ... so I can use the stock flash hider if there are any problems.
  11. It was a really hot Sunday so he took his sleeved top and chest rig off (I think I was off throwing up in a bush due to heat-stroke).
  12. My 13 3/4 year old son has been playing for ages with a helmet, Bolle goggles and a Delta Mike snood, and not a single site has said his protection does not meet their requirements. I'll update this post in a mo with a photo so you can see how he's setup... Update: This is him at around 13 1/2 years old during summer 2022 and no site ever complained about his protection... https://i.imgur.com/gM6lVmi.jpg
  13. @Skullchewer was this at Red Alert between Newbury and Reading? (I'm playing there this Sunday 13th, with my son and his buddy and his dad) I've been spoilt by lovely comfy "safe zones" so not sure how to best handle running out the back of my estate car (other than bringing a fold up table and chairs, and dressing appropriately to keep warm).
  14. What a very securely wrapped package... https://i.imgur.com/e1CGurK.jpg ... with a nice selection of weights to try... https://i.imgur.com/iMuL9Zv.jpg (Roll on 13/11/2022 when I'll use 0.32g BB's in my AEG)
  15. 11.1v 3,000 mAh Li-Io's from either Titan or Valken.
  16. If any DE M900 owners are interested I bought a couple of these as I was off work last week relaxing at home... https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/motors-parts/xt-high-torque-motor-22tpa-long-fan ... and wanted to see how they'd effect things (one for me to play around with and another for my son's upgraded G&G Firehawk that has as stock an M130 spring). DE have said to me that the stock Chaoli motor they use is 19,000 RPM, but not at what voltage of battery and what its TPA is, so I put one into my M904E which is currently running an M105 spring. Just turning the stock Chaoli and XT motors pinions with your fingers there's a massive difference, with the Chaoli turning very easily and the XT requiring substantially more force with its strong magnets. RPS only slightly improved, I wasn't really interested in that though, but the trigger response on semi is substantially better with all that torque available (and I run a Maxx Model Advanced Trigger so have set a very short trigger pull as well). I play most of the time at a semi only site so will definitely be getting my first shot off quicker and will be able to merrily spam the trigger if I'm in that sort of mood. For a while I was tempted by a 27,000 RPM Warhead Base motor, but with the trigger response now so good I'm not sure if it's worth it (plus I'd be worried about PME and I don't want to play around with gear ratios to be honest). For only £33.50 it's a cracking upgrade
  17. I think you've covered the only UK one with Patrol Base I'm not sure if 8Fields is distributed in Europe by Taiwan Gun or if it's actually a brand they own (it was this site that made me think they actually own them... https://8fields.com/ ), but they're the only ones I known of who stock their full range.
  18. Looking at Patrol Base, from your image, that's an expensive gun where it seems all the money was just for the cosmetics and no features that improve performance, but it's all about what makes you happy Everything online seems to imply that such an expensive gun has just a mechanical trigger like this... https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/trigger-switches/ec-trigger-switch-v2-rear-wired ... so if you can afford it a Perun V2 Hybrid / GATE Aster / Gate Titan would make a huge difference in trigger response but won't be cheap (however you'd gain other things as well like cycle control which would prevent double tapping if you did also move to a better motor).
  19. I've had plenty of trouble with ML Omega nubs not being centered 100% correctly, even slightly off gives a left or right curve that becomes more pronounced when shooting at distance (I need to tweaks my son's RIF again before we next play due to this). I went the nuclear option to say goodbye to this forever, with a Maxx Model M4A-PRO hop unit and the solid metal nub which acts like a TDC.
  20. It's starting to look like a Quake 8 with 615 primers and a Deadly Customs holster ? (better guarantee to go off, and it would only be getting used on solid surfaces (concrete and wooden flooring)) Is it bad that I get an evil grin thinking about the possibility of dropping one through an opening and scaring the shit out of someone ? (... and an even bigger one imagining dropping it into one of my teenage sons bedrooms on a school morning)
  21. Stopped the selector plate moving that far with a nut and bolt through the receiver (also no site has ever questioned how I'm locked to semi only, just chrono'd me at the weight I'm using and trusted me (I shoot 0.40g and have never cheated chrono in any way)). @ak2m4 In the past I did try an o-ring nozzle in one of my DE M900's, with absolutely no difference at all (I think it was one of your XT nozzles). However the Maxx Model M4A-PRO + their own 21.25 nozzle with o-ring did give me extra FPS, so I'm wondering if the nozzle is just mating up perfectly with the bucking in the hop unit and improving the air seal?
  22. @Stevobeavo About 6 months or so into owning my DE M904E I just wanted to start tinkering with it, nothing big at that point (it's radically different from stock now) but at least fully disassembling it and rebuilding it. I got an extra 5 to 8 FPS on 0.20g just from carefully cleaning an re-greasing it with Super Lube. The biggest gains I got though were from... # Replacing the Spring: The three DE M900's I have were all UK spec for power from the retailer, but the spring in each one was totally different from the others in strength, length and two were progressive and one was linear. Using well made springs gave substantial power gains, with no loss over time, and consistency when swapping them around. # Maxx Model M4A-PRO and Nozzle: In my DMR, a DE M908A at 420 FPS on 0.20g, I recently installed a Maxx Model M4A-PRO and their 21.25mm Nozzle, and had a big FPS gain (I noted what it was but can't find it, something like 10 to 14 FPS). Was it the hop unit, was it the nozzle, both together?
  23. Unexpectedly HMRC has given me money, how nice of them, so I've a small amount to spend, but I'm torn about how to waste it... # A Tectonic Innovations Quake 8 (I don't push much, prefer support, but each skirmish I end up in at least one a situation where a bang would help sort things out). or # A second hand GoPro (not for YouTube, just my own consumption and reminiscing). ... both would make me happy (and one would would make me and my team happy, but the other I can watch back on rainy Sunday's and laugh about).
  24. Apparently it's the Ukraine soldiers not talking their hits. (I've read that they're using modern / Western manufactured plates in their rigs, and Russian ammo and AK's just can't penetrate it at all)
  25. So it's someone with retail premises then ?
