So, today was a particularly fun one.
Five of us have been playing online games together, for nigh on 20 years. Some of us have never met face to face.
This weekend we finally all met up. Three not that far apart, one from Scotland and one from Canada.
I've obviously played a lot.
One of us had played about 5 games.
The Scottish guy had played Airsoft once before.
The Canadian played once with me last weekend.
That other had never played before today.
We went to Red Alert in Newbury.
What a superb day.
First time at the site for all of us, and it was a great site. Good sized playing area, lots of great terrain and buildings (standard wood builds but good quality and varied), lots of varied game modes, very welcoming staff and they marshals could not have been more engaged.
The atmosphere was very good.
All five of us had a great day, and all of the varying levels of newbies are very keen to play again and are all talking about getting their own kit (I loaned out a lot of kit today and got it all back in the same condition I lent it out in).
Red Alert is highly recommend, I've booked in for their next battlesim weekend.
Oh, and we got some comemmerative patches made up for the meet up, that we wore today.
