  1. So I have decide to go with a 60' Autobot, Pantera Nub ( spelling? ) , crazy jet barrel and an AA hop. The rest of my rifle being fully upgraded is good until the stock trigger set explodes. So currently no major investment needed. The guys at Skirmishop were very helpful and recommended the Flamingo hop rubber. But after researching, I cannot find a single review that rates them over the Mapleleaf. So I will stick with the masses. My next consideration bb weight. I know the current meta, is heavy weight and throw it a long way with accuracy. Awesome! When I used to snipe before my rifle got stolen ( Cries ). I ran only Maruzen Super Grand Master and I was a demon. I need to find my sweet spot with range, consistency and speed of BB travel. Doing the math, going from a 0.29 to a 0.45. It goes from 415fps to 333fps. A 82 less foot traveled in a second. I have never run bb's over that weight, so while I know I am going to enjoy the range and accuracy. The slower travel speed to target is going to be interesting.

  3. Which one? I do not recognize that name
  4. Saw the news yesterday. Gutted for Russ and the team. CSW is really an excellent site with superb management.
  5. I was thinking something similar over the weekend. How much I would like a really decent MP5 with Sliding stock and Navy style light foregrip. There would be enough space in those grips now to fit a fet, 11.1lipo and replace the usually average light for a trillion lumins LED. I last owned an MP5 about 15years ago and the terrible hop and nicad battery combination made me sell it shortly after buying it. The System TW5's were just a little out of my price range
  6. Me in all my glory This one made it into Airsoft International
  7. Hey Looking to play in a few weeks. Anyone used this site before and got any feedback? We had found another site just about London to visit but a friend said it was a great site filled with absolute twats, so we are avoiding that one Cheers
  8. I started playing Airsoft when the first AEG TM Mp5's and FAMAS's started to be available in the UK. So we are talking 1996ish. I remember the date because I had to lie about my age to get a springer glock from Rebel Troop in Reading. Airsoft back then was pretty comical. Everyone ran a springer except for maybe 1 person who could afford a famas. Very little camo on the whole and people wore those B&Q plastic goggles for protection. The first game I played was somewhere in Reading. Might have been Mapledurham, but its so long ago now. I remember the game well. I had 3 mags. Which meant in relative terms, I was the geardo. We all ran around and shot each other fairly close because not all BB guns back then had a hop. ( The good hop ones had gold barrels.. oooo fancy ) There was one guy there who had a SA80 Springer and because it had a scope on it. We all thought he was the pro'est thing on the planet. There as no chrono but everything else was much the same. I did it for a few weeks and honestly, it was kinda lame. Truly no one had AEG's or any real range back then. Everything good was crazy expensive. An Mp5 AEG back then was about £280 and we are talking 1996. I dropped out for a few years and picked it back up again in about 2001/2. Again went to Rebel Troop and bought a TM M4. 1 Spare Mag, a TN barrel and a silencer cover. Back then people really bigged up the properties of tightbores. Ran it for a couple of games. Sent it to Airsoft Armouries for a power upgrade. It came back and had been modded to take a 9.6 3000 battery in a bag on the stock. ( Ghetto ) From there I played with the same gun for a long time. Still back them no one chrono'd and the rules of airsoft where kind of fluffy from site to site. I finally started going to Stirling Airsoft and they were the best days ever. No real worries about safety or FPS, and no one got hurt as it was still quite a small community. About a year after i got my gun back from AA, it was chrono'd at a game and was running 420fps. Ah fun times. They still let me play at FireFight on that day and just politely asked for me to clip the spring. So how is that for old school airsoft?
  9. I started in a BlackHawk vest very similar to that and honestly it is probably more than good enough for the task. That being said, does it look a little noobie... Well yes.. I have used most loadouts from carrying way to much to being striped down for speed. The two that I tend to use depending entirely on the look i want, since both carry the same. Plate Carriers, of which there are many to chose from are excellent. Feel great on and give you a little protection from the front and back. When you are talking a chest rig I am assume you mean something like a Haley | D3CR- H CHEST RIG or similar. These are super light weight and usually my go to rig. The reality of why it really depends on looks, is because of what you will generally take into a game. Gun, 4 High caps ( I carry 8 mid caps, 4 on rig, 1 on belt, 2 on leg, 1 in gun ) Bag of BB's Dump pouch Maybe a spare battery Maybe water/haribo That is not a whole lot to carry and most of that could be run on a belt rig, so either rig is more than upto the task. So my TLDR answer. Decide on what pretend soldier you want to look like and buy that rig. Looks matter more than function for the most part
