Short usage review. First outing with my MWS on Sat and I enjoyed it but it wasn't as good as my PTW. I think I need to spend a little more time getting the hop just perfect and zero it again. It was also only about 5-8'C when I was using it and it just felt a bit weak. I was using Predator Red Gas. I don't think I gave it a fair shake of the stick. Simply because of how good my PTW is. I point and that thing sends the shots accurately and at a known range and consistency. My MWS was in my head a 50/50 chance of hitting the player. Was also my first time running a short scope, rather than a dot sight. Which was very different. I really enjoyed being able to see the target and getting that extra bit of optics on them to follow the shot in. I found it slower to get on target. Which is obviously their negative vs a dot. But I will continue to practice. So from a historic full AEG convert. I think I will enjoy using the MWS but I don't think it is as suited to a woodland game as an AEG and that is mainly due to the low ammo count vs weight on the mags. I liked the realism but didn't like the weigh of having just 4 mags on me. Let along the 7 AEG, I usually carry. For Combat mission, heavy storyline milsim and probably for some CQB games. It will be the winner for smiles and realism. I just don't think if I had the option and wanted to win a game, i would pick it over my PTW or NGRS. That said. Lets see how I feel after my next game. What it says and the reality, is going to be very very different. That to me looks like just the total boundaries. The drops from the green sides into the moat looks around 2 stories. Sunset October is around 7pm. So that's unlikely to be usable. The chunk to the right is going to be parking and camping. You remove the open grass areas, which well are gonna be just that. Leaves you with about 20 very easy to lock down controlled buildings, that are designed to funnel people. Oh and a single bridge across of the bottom left part of the site is going to be so easy to lock down. For the first 20-30 or so people who get over it. No idea how accessible the higher ground is from the moat. So that might change things but this is going to feel a heck of a lot smaller with 200 people shooting you with hicaps. We went to the Gloucester prison and locked down that site with about 50 per site. I mean we have locked down woodlands sites with not many more. That site with 150 would be pretty epic but 400 from my experience of large games, its just going to be a cluster fuck of camping and ammo spamming. That after the first 20mins of any story will fall apart in to a skirmish. Maybe if they limit it to 400 rounds but that they have stated its not going to be milsim. Perhaps I am just jaded but large games usually tend to be pretty terrible mess after a couple of hours of marshalls trying to herd cats. Giving up, just standing back and lobbing the odd pyro for effect.

Hello all, A post popped up today about a game Ai500 is going to be running at a prison site in Dover. Looks like a super site but it's going to be capped at 400 people. With the hunger of airsoft this year, I expect it will make it. This to me looking at the site size and realistically, what is going to be actual playing area. Seems to be way too many but this isn't apparently their first large game. Looking at the image, it looks big. But the actual playing area for safety, is going to be a lot smaller. Sheer drops into the moat are going to kill off a lot of the green mounds. Lots of wire fencing, which being a prison is going to channel game play. Lots of builds with limited entry point ( its a prison ) and with easy to control corridors and lots of small single entry rooms. I have played games at CHD and seen the site locked down with half that number of people. But open to experience. Has anyone done any previous events? Good / Bad / Clusterfuck?

Shower thought but a good one. Is it best to leave the MWS between games in semi with the trigger pulled, rather than in safe with the hammer cocked? So the hammer spring is not under load and potentially making it weaker.

Sods law. Dave emailed me this morning and has nubs available again. I already have the arm on order but quite tempted to order one anyway. Has anyone done an arm vs nub test on a stock rubber with the same setup to test the difference?

I have a PTW, fully upgrade NGRS and now an MWS. I am yet to use the MWS in anger and i am going to have to change my way of play due to the ammo restrictions. Both my NGRS and PTW are 120 round mid cap monsters with insane range on .32s I am interested to see how i get on with the GBBR before i get angry and grab my regular guns. If its raining heavily... I will be using the MWS

For any new painters on here.. Depending on what effect you want. You have some final steps after the paint goes on. A nice clean painted work of art OR a painted working tool that will show its wear and make you feel like a dirty operator. Art First give it a rub over with some very fine wirewool or wetdry paper ( Go super lite on this ). This will flatten the paint and make it look lovely. Then a matte or satin clear coat ( obviously the satin will be more shiny than matte ). Take some photos and know you are an artist. Dirty operator Just keep growing your beard

I haven't painted an MWS before. So if someone wants to correct me please do. What I will do when i paid this is tape up the end of the barrel so that paint cannot get down to the inner. On the body, it's has a pretty good fit. So I would probably just keep it closed and spray. That said, if i wanted to be more curious. I would put some tape on the inside, close the body and be happy if anything got through the gap. It would be caught on that.

Hello, I hate the paint job. Its not done badly, just not my style. This is a second hand MWS that I just wanted as a base. All i really wanted was the body, stock tube, barrel and the guts. Gonna strip all the paint for now and either paint it MC or just leave it black with tan furniture. I have painted loads of guns before this point. With each i just tapped off any danger areas and went crazy with Krylon.

Heat and Violence!

So....... I understand that the MWS being a gas system is able to push a heavier BB further and straighter at the same energy vs an AEG. My question is all things being equal, does anyone have any experience throwing a heavy bb .45g up etc with a DMR power MWS vs the a spring sniper. ( 1.49j vs 2.31j ) What different in range differences are people seeing and are they as accurate as a upgraded sniper? The reason I ask is that I have a very nice sniper rifle, I have many AEG's and I am sure I am going to be convinced to get an MWS in the very near future. BUT I would not be able to run the MWS in anything but as a DMR. Quite franky, the mags would be emptied in 1 squirt if auto was available to me ( It is a sickness ) Set to semi only and with costly ammo in the mags. I think i might be able to control my bloodlust. *admit it. You can hear this gif*

Combat South is my local site and one i have visited the most over the years. Great site, great bunch of people run it and very much missed by everyone in the South. I tend to judge every site now by Combat South, as the standard they need to live up to. Russ is working hard to find a new site. CSW will be back ( sorta )

Hi I was chatting about the hay days of airsoft, when there seemed to be a lot more sites available to use for airsoft. Most have gone the ways of housing estates, which appears to be the grave for most fun locations. So for me. If anyone gives a fuck. Old Welsh Guard base. Lots of proper mixed use buildings with multiple entry points, varied size rooms, court yards, stair cases. Surrounded by forest and fields. You never ever got a point that you couldn't flank with enough effort and the buildings were just so amazing to fight through.. It brings a tear to my eye that it got shut down to be made into housing. We had access for a good few years and back then the games were run as short story-lined games. Designed with an heavy element of role play but not much more than to give you reason to fight over an objective. The games were always fast, hard and well run. The level of game play was always high and with better class of player than you tend to see today. I think of all the games there, we only ever had a couple of bad eggs and a idiot Liverpudlian, who decided to blow their hand up by throwing back a lit pyro. Light Fighter Sheffield Next Site that I only ever played on once, was way tup north. At an old factory complex, run joint by Light Fighter Airsoft and Stirling Airsoft. It was huge, varied and just incredible to play at. Much the same reason why Crickhowell was so good. Lots of proper buildings, lots of flanking and varied terrain mean you could move tactically and could fight into an area with enough determination, without it being unacceptable because it was a kill box. The Mall - Reading ( earlier days ) Visited this site a bunch of times. Nice and local. Lots of fun and really just worked well as an airsoft site. I went here probably 6-7 times over its lifespan and it is a real shame it is now gone. Really novel place to fight, lots of fun routes in and around the shops. Great little sneak routes, where light discipline was essential. Not sure what happened but it got spoiled by some cheating fuck nuggets. So after one event myself and the rest of the team just packed up and went home, it was just shitty. I went back about 3-4 months later and was mostly filled with filthy casuals, who were there for the yucks and not the game play. Didn't bother again after that. So yeah, that filled 15 mins of my quiet afternoon, while I let a vendor talk to my partners about something really not that interesting to most of you What are your favourite now gone locations and do any of you share the same memories of these sites?
