I've booked myself into Special Ops MK for the 3rd & 4th April along with a few others on my team ... 19 days & counting!!
-
British Army surplus gear is all IRR treated, and cheap a chips for Grade 1 used... Just picked up a really good quality Osprey Plate carrier for £25 sans pouches, and the pouches are only £4\5 quid each... BDU's normally cost about £35 for upper and lower, can't go wrong really
If you want to pay more, check out UK Tactical or Military 1st

Special Ops Milton Keynes is taking bookings for 3rd & 4th of April, then fortnightly thereafter
RIFT Airsoft are also preparing to take bookings for the 3rd & 4th of April

So it turns out you can't trust the shipping costs in Europe any more, guy came back to me and wanted another €40 on top of the €13 p&p already paid... Waiting for a refund on the whole order 😒

F*@k! That looks like a hospital job!
I shall never play wiv fireworks again 🥺
Haha yeah, I had a trip to A&E after the end of the day... Considering it happened in the first hour though 😉

and lol, fair enough... did you order the FBG6s or the AFG6s i mentioned?
also where do you source the mil smokes? i would like to have a few ready for use at RIFT REDCON2. the open spaces require better smoke coverage than the EG WP40s i can buy at the site shop.I buy Mil-X direct from Third Light/Enola Gaye UK in Reading they let me open an account with my UKARA, my job takes me to High Wycombe pretty regular so I pop down to pick them up to save postage
-
@Shamal This is what happened first time I used a flash 3... Lucky I was wearing gloves at the time... Normally I just use smokes, but I decided to take over the role of teacher on my team. I went to throw the grenade after pulling the pin and found where I wanted to throw it block, so I moved to the next option and *BANG* foot of flame shot down my arm 🤣🤣
@Spartan09 Their flash grenades are only a couple of quid more expensive than the ones from my local site, and considering I favour EG Mil-X smoke grenades at £25 each, £7 a pop seem reasonable 😅🤣
I placed an order, will review once received!

I'd be cautious about the Warrior Universal and a Sig - the holster pushes on the mag release and you will lose any mags in the gun while holstered.
I'd go for a Serpa or Safariland style holster, either on a belt or on a medium drop and with a leg strap.
I've got not experience of that, although if you wrap it too tight it's rack the slide as you put it in 😅

The guys i play with have all got a boafeng radios, non of them have licenses but program them for pmr use. So I jumped on the bandwagon and its an easy setup to do and help enough.
Sorry to be the one fella, but that is still illegal, Baofengs not BF-88x transmit at 1 or 5 watts, the legal limit on PMR is 0.5 watts... Although the chances of getting collared are infinitesimal... What you will end up doing is jamming the frequency for anyone else tryingg to use 446MHz because of your higher output
-
Baofeng BF-888 or Baofeng BF-88e are both UK legal PMR radios with pre-programmed channels.
I've found them to be quite congested at some sights, and range is about 1/2km in dense woodlandi Ended up switching to licenced UV-5Rs after 6 months
-
Personally, I use either a Sig P226R or Glock 17 as a sidearm on a Warrier Assault Systems battle belt set up (left-handed because I'm awkward... And I've never actually used it, but largely play woodland sites as not many decent CQB sites near me
I use the polymer WAS Pistol Fast-Mag holders, only pistol mag holder that I HAVEN'T lost a pistol mag from...
Couple of guys on my team run drop leg holsters, and I can draw faster from a belt that is configured properly (pistol at 10(L)/2(R) o'clock depending on (L) eft or (R)ight handed) and some repetition drilling to get used to the set up

-
Personally, I have a licence that covers my entire team, I know there are individual options out there that are cheaper, I pay £70 a year for my licence

So I've finally finished my L119A2 build

C79A2 Clone (Canadian optic for a Canadian born rifle)

i really don't get why they'd design that cut into the barrel?
it's an air leak, and looks like it'd put a pair of nice scratches in the bb on its way out too.
According to the blurb ... And I' can't vouch for this since when I tried to by one, the length I needed was OoS ...
The air channel along the bottom of the barrel provides additional and consistent back spin on the BB for the entire length of the barrel, rather than backspin just being applied at the hop-up, they say it provides better range and accuracy
Would be good to know if it indeed acts as expected/sold

I've got mates who have served, some who are serving and some who served and never came back, and would feel that I was disrespecting them if I wore any 'real' unit insignia
I've lost a couple of close mates who served, more to PTSD than combat, and I absolutely respect the commitment, service, and sacrifice

Either way it needs to stop before any unit patches as far as skirmishes go. They make zero functional difference and adding 1% more immurshun to your weekend bb wars in no way takes precedence over the experience of guys who may well have been through some real shit while wearing that stuff.
Fair point fella, appreciate the feedback

Why not just sew your own patch over the ones it has? BDU you want with your stamp on it and won't insult anyone.
Since I'm looking at replicating a IDF ARW load-out, the flag insignia would be part of that, same as anyone who wears a Union Flag on a British inspired kit or Stars & Stripes on a US inspired kit, it's the extra details, like the dropzone flash, or AWG Regimental insignia that I feel pushes the kit to a borderline Walt situation that I'm interested in discussing
Saying that, the closest I can get to being Irish is marrying my half Irish partner (hold the date: 7th April 2021) and applying for dual citizenship ... Which oddly enough is an entirely separate non-airsoft related plan that I have 😉

OK, so I'm sure this is going to prove to be a controversial topic ...
So there is a line between 'imitation being the highest form of flattery' and misleading persons unknown into believing that you are or represent something what 'you' are not
But where is the line?
I am looking at 2 loadouts, one I am currently using based on British Army 16 Air Assault Brigade Pathfinders Group (for woodland sites), and a 2nd I am starting to work on based on Irish Defence Forces Army Ranger Wing Counter Terrorist Unit (for CQB sites)
The IDF BDU I've found have the IDF/Irish flag logos pre-embroidered (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IDF-Irish-DPM-Combat-Shirt-Large-Ref-5/353275988284?hash=item5240e3c93c:g:75wAAOSwz6ZfgxAL) but not the ARW logo (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Irish-Army-Ranger-Wing-Patch-w-Tab-Fianoglach-100-Embroidery/254482563003?hash=item3b4057bfbb:g:cOEAAOSw8vtfSvSS)
My Pathfinder loadout, I have British Army surplus Blanking patches on my UBASC, but no other insignia or rank markings, I would however consider some additions for example the drop zone flash (https://www.army-surplus.co.uk/dz-flash-16-aa-pf-pln), without any other insignia or marks.
However, I recognise that I am not now, nor have ever been in the Army, let alone in an elite regiment, and wouldn't want to cross a line ...
Brutally honest opinions always welcome 😅

Hi fella,
I play at RIFT The Village occasionally, RIFT The Ridge when I feel like punishing myself, and Spec Ops MK more frequently, I have been wanting to try Sentinal as it looks good, but am booked into Finmere Night game on the 5th Dec, so will probably go mid December...
I Might Need to Go for a Run.

I know I've put on weight this lock-down ... But I seems to be preparing to punish myself by doing 2 consecutive days of Airsoft with an even heavier load out than pre-lock-down/tier 4 ...
Full Osprey, w/ pauldrons, collar ... A weighty GBBR, vest mounted Sig P226R, 6 AR mags, 4 pistol mags, and enough Pyro to attract a CSAR extraction 🤣🤣🤣
