  1. Oh cool, way more bites than I thought I'd get here.

I was considering a "hybrid" style as I may use it on roads but mostly trail type riding, definitely no hardcore literal-mountain biking though. So I don't think I need a full-suspension £10K beast.

I did see the Halfords ones, but they seem suspiciously cheap. Glad to hear you're getting some good bang for your buck though @Rogerborg. My commute would be doable by bike, but as you mentioned, I don't want to arrive a sweaty mess and spend the next eight hours sitting at a desk.

So year Carrera could be an option, I've also been looking at the Raleigh Centros or one of the Specialised line-up.

I definitely want something low-maintenance but still not sure if hub or derailleur gears are better suited for my needs?

  2. I know this is reaaallly off-topic but does anyone on here have much experience buying and owning one or more (most of us are geared towards collecting!)?

I am considering getting one, ideally <£2500. So any tips etc would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Full-auto pistols are proper ashtray on a motorbike uselessness too. Either you're too close to use full-auto, or you're too far to use a pistol. Not to mention most just dump gas while spraying BB's on random trajectories.

Pistol drum mags are also fragile and suffer from cooldown way before you're through a decent number of BB's. I don't even like the 50 round Glock mags. My stock TM Glock 26 can't get through one before it's out of gas.

  4. Let's face it, most pistols are "upgraded" purely for the sake of messing around with it. If you just want a reliable sidearm for the odd occasion you are close enough and actually remember to use it, then you could get pretty much any of the TM line and stick 0.20's in them. As I say I've got the AA CNC chamber, with stock rubber and nub, plus a 150mm Maple Leaf Crazyjet Barrel. I can hop 0.40's more metres than I'd ever try with a pistol. For use at up to 30M, I've currently set it up for 0.25's (also as this is the weight of the tracer BB's I may eventually use in CQB). I find much heavier and the BB's casually sail through the air, leaving my target plenty of time to duck for cover.

  5. Interesting! I wonder if it'd be possible to access in a black mamba upper, the ejection port on those is quite a bit smaller than stock. Not that I have any issues with my AA CNC chamber.

  6. So on the TM G26 and a few other older models (actually the AAP-01 does this too), the trigger doesn't sit back when pulled on empty. I've noticed that Guarder have fixed this in their complete lower for the G26, but does anyone know which part affects this? ie is it the hammer assembly, trigger lever, trigger spring?

  7. Does anyone have one of these? They look interesting, are cheap atm and seem to share some internals with TM spec guns.

Are they at least half-way decent though?

  8. I bought myself one of these the other day and as someone who'd never buy a Vorsk pistol, I have to say it seems really good so far. Obviously I can't speak for the longevity and that is of course important but it's snappy (despite the somewhat spongey trigger), doesn't spew gas on every shot and shoots super-consistently at 335 - 345 on a 0.20g (I haven't played around with the hop yet). You even get a spare nozzle in the package, although yeah hopefully I don't need it anytime soon. It really does seem like a KWA in a modern polymer shell.
