  1. So a scorpion style but with the ar mags? Yeah I dig that
  2. Yeah, that poncho roll really is an awkward place. That makes sense that it is bug out kit rather than acessable stuff. Pistols as well, I may just bite the bullet! @gavinkempsell great recommendations holster, hadn't seen that store yet. It's not a hard core milsim more filmsim with day shooting and evening social. I will need the grab a hex burner for tea but that'll be the limit. I have volunteered to be medic so was hoping to shove those supplies into the kidney pouches. But I might play around strapping and such like to see if I can get the pack to work over one shoulder instead....
  3. To reach/be able to close them... As to the modified set ups, they do seem to focus on not using kidney pouches and just adding water and ammo pouches instead, but this then hits the other conundrum I have with finding bargains - I don't see the value in spending the same as I did on 1 pouch as I have just done with the whole setup 🤪... It's a real issue!
  4. I wanted to "sad" react but I can remember if it has negative response on your profile. I am personally hoping for a very long hot summer.... This is very useful and I have encountered Rilfleman Moore and his "setup" video, the alternative setup discussed and the comments were very enlightening, I have swung the kidney pouches round, so only one linked to the yolk, the set I came across had 1.5 pouches so I have kidney pouches both sides of the ammo pouches. As to what I'm missing, just the holster and attachment aids. All (some) of the ancillaries will be added slowly. And I may even get it comfortable....
  5. So I have taken a deep dive into Cold War filmsim, being booked in for the next Red Mist game in October. Due to its added rp nature I thought to myself "go whole hog" go kit crazy 🤪 But then I started looking at prices of the pattern 58, and damn that can get expensive quickly. Then come many days of ebay trawling, thinking "you know, I have the 80's rig, maybe that'll be fine" Then the worst thing happened, I find a full set (-belt), with rare extras.... Starting bid £10.... £10! When all of the other partial sets had gone for £30+ So I did what any "sane" individual would do and took a punt. £15 (postage inc) and a few days later I have this mess of pouches and straps in front of me that I spent last night trying to get into some semblance of usefulness. What I found out? Oh my Gods what an awful setup, yes I picked up a belt to get the c clips in but still! The kidney pouches are almost unreachable and more so with the pack on. Had to move them round to be slightly unbalanced to be able to reach one of them effectively. SO much time fiddling with one strap or another to get things to stay still. It's madness and heavy! The damn thing weighs more than the kit I'm going to be putting in it. Next gripe, pistol holsters, these seem to be heading towards hen teeth level rarity and sellers don't mind charging crazy amounts which I may also have to suck up due to the "no s95" kit so if there are any other suggestions.... Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
  6. @hunter511 I am also curious as to what you mean. What I've seen here has always been adherence to rule#1 (baring a few notable exceptions) and mocking load outs is not really the done thing given everyone is able to wear what they want. If you are talking about the many posts on faceache with them shooting out windows ....many of us purposely don't interact with content like that...
  7. Still convinced you would get the low baller offers and dumbass trade offers.....
  8. @Skullchewernow that is a very particular rum. Good show
  9. Trying to get in on the "competitions" game. Don't get me wrong, I buy an AC ticket every now and then but this is taking the largest of pisses
  10. Obviously to pay for the laser engraving they had done....
  11. That explains alot, this is where I have played the times I have been. As in the hay bales were the limit...
  12. That's not ambush activities Botley is it? Thought the site was squarer than that? There was a white board with some x's and y's but no other marks as the game was explained using named locations...
  13. Count yourself lucky you may still get one! I made the mistake of losing mine along with a hard to replace pickupool patch... I may order another at some point, a forum patch that is. I replaced the deadachiu patch very quickly....
  14. I swear I started a similar thread a while ago with the intent to post all maps I find..... But yeah, it doesn't need to be a work of art or even anything beyond simple line drawing with basic features and names. First time (awhile ago now) at a new site (ambush Botley) and they start talking about locations "yeah, but where is it?" - oh just follow someone.... By lunch we had a conversation with owner about it, we had done a very rough sketch of the rest of the afternoon by the end of the day, someone had found a dnd map maker and boom, a usable map was born. The Gaol do theirs very well, with the "long game" locations, timings and scoring options all listed. Shout out to Justin as it hits 10Years in May. CS used to hand a copy to all site first timers. Many smaller sites might not need to bother, Red1 chiselhurst for example is compact enough to have have its areas clear and easy to navigate. As is mentioned already, it doesn't need much. For me, the effort of getting a map either on website or handed on game day speaks volumes about the sites level of welcome to new to site visitors. Excluding of course the smaller sites that don't need to...
  15. Found this gem in the Gear section https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/item/49315-accession-research-goliath-sling-and-jagd-shoulder-pads/
  16. Aren't these the folks that bought a certain cringe airsoft FB page with how they are going to "change the face of airsoft"? Follow up question, How high were you when you posted this ad? Can I buy some of that?
  17. It's OK, you can admit swinging the ban hammer gives you Thor vibes, this is a safe space...
  18. Maybe @Alex89Typecould say why we shouldn't fall for it.... Other than the day glow orange other side of Atlantic feel...
  19. Saw your picture on FB, been meaning to drop by that comment section to see how it's going. The orange arm bands are shiny new, I was there in mib Feb and we used blue and yellow, both sets needing a wash.... Big fan of sites that do double arms, and also red right other left, although I do have a hi team kill count from not having coffee that morning..... Ghillies? Fuck em, both arms above what ever foliage they have but on themselves
  20. It's completely not what you are looking for but the pattern 58 pouches are perfect....
  21. Definitely sounds like something Warzone could be talked into....
  22. My grip, was mostly due to the length of game with little in the way of gameplay...sure wet days need a touch more grace but still it's the time between games and the allowed bombing up time. It was the "your lucky we are using the whole site for this game" but what that game needed was a little more focused area. I will go back in the summer to give it another go, but on wet days I'll head somewhere else
  23. I mean, when I was there the marshals couldn't id which ammo crate belonged to which team as they had no markings... So needing cameras....yeah, ick
  24. The NAF is not a milsim event...it may have kit restrictions. Depending on which team you sign up for. Have a look at cold war airsoft, these is a site near Newbury called Gunman that run regular film and milsim style events. Have a look at kit requirements there to give you a better idea. Some will even have hire kit.
