Hahaha, you just beat me to it FreeFrag.  I also think rate of fire should be closer to the real weapons but unfortunately that's never going to happen.
I tend to use 2x hi-caps to keep mag count down (cheaper and easier to carry) but I still use semi most of the time.

I think full auto in the woods is fine but some people over do it and I hate those stupid high ROF sprayers.

Last game I went to I got hit by a burst of 7 shots in my back when I came up to a guy and tried to duck behind cover.
Didn't say anything but was annoying.

@B.S - I can't help but think your kit is missing a Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife

Great kit, absolutely fantastic. Admittedly I think I'll probably put together a WW2 kit once a Lee Enfield becomes available although I have considered an MP40.

When other airsofters started lobbing 1.13J 0.32g at 30rps?

However, I'd say that's a problem with ROF, not with auto.  And it's perfectly possible to make a semi-auto wanker gun - I won't give the twat the reward of a link, but we've probably seen the "Semi-auto, dude! / Brah, this is full auto!" video.

I agree, and if I get into woodland again, I'll likely end up going DMR.  But I can trust myself to follow a 1-in-flight, or 2/3 second delay rule both in the letter and in the spirit.

Eh. A hose-beast could have 20 or more bbs in flight before the target reacts to the first hit, shouts, add another .15 seconds for the sound to reach the shooter (that's 4 bbs at 30rps just in itself) and then for the finger to come off the trigger.

Again though, that's an issue with ROF, and unless you're dumping your load at a few metres or you really do have the mythical "shoots like a laser" toy that's actually accurate at 50m+, it's unlikely to ever be that bad.

I've never felt overshot in woodland.

I have felt pretty aggrieved when a whole squad was taken out by some joker trigger-spamming a DMR from beyond our effective range though, and if you only allow semi auto, I agree that's where the game will go.

Not generally enforced here, but to perhaps shed some light perhaps its a way of forcing the hicap heroes to stop dumping half a mag into every bush that twitches then claim they couldnt hear the screams of hit over the sound of their arp.

I dont mind auto, but it does strike me that a lot of folk dont seem to remember their rifle has a selector switch.

So basically fuck you if you've invested in an LMG. Now I'll admit I spend the vast majority of my time in semi auto. I run limited capacity mags and have set my gun up to have maximum range and accuracy with a great semi trigger so I don't need to switch to full auto to get kills. That said limiting everyone to semi in woodland games is going to cause two things.
    1) less dynamic gameplay as everyone has less firepower to hand, especially those with stock or low end guns so you're going to have less people willing to play creatively.
    2) and I think more importantly you're going to get people like you said with HPA, DSG and precocking builds intentionally trying to skirt around the rules, widening the gap between those with low end guns and those with expensive trigger response builds.
In general you're just going to end up with everyone except a certain few having less fun and likely going somewhere else.

I've just put my first proper WW2 kit together after years of spending all my money on guns instead... I went for a British Commando look mostly because... Well I'll be honest, it was the cheapest. And having just mostly drained my funds getting the new Northeast Sten MkV, it needed to be!

It considerably helped cost wise that I already had the bergen, scarf, and got the boots off my dad, from his time in the navy.

I will be replacing those ill-fitting gaiters as soon as possible.

For a more early war look, removed the scarf and grabed the M1928. Now I've just got to get to a game in it!

I love my impression kits and I have toyed with the idea of putting together WW2 and/or various Cold War kits but one thing which tends to hold me back is that I need something protecting my chest (health related) which inevitably generates some issues. The Lee Enfield No.4 which has been teased a lot over the past year or so looks incredibly promising.

Your kits look incredible. As far as WW2 kit goes I'll admit I've got a soft spot for the 352. Infanterie-Division from Normandy along with the kit used by British Para's during Operation Market Garden.

I've never really investigated the WW2 weapons but your write up indicates some great pieces of kit, with a bit of technical know how.

    Sounds absolutely bang on though.

It's why I'd always suggesting buying a sub-£100 VSR-a-like just to see if you enjoy it.  Throw in a £20 spring and piston and you'll be up to 500fps, some cheap tuning and you're much of the way there.

Nobritsch is selling a dream - his videos are basically marketing for how effective sniping is.  And like all marketing, well, if you believe that, I have a bridge unskirmished fully upgraded SSG to sell you.

I find it interesting the trend with 2nd hand Novritsch Sales:

A.) How many Novritsch items come up for sale unskirmished.
B.) How similar so many of the listings are (only used for backyard plinking)
C.) I bought this two days ago but now I’m leaving Airsoft forever, press F to pay respects.

It makes me suspect that the Novritsch team has become less stringent on checking for a defence as so many of these seem to have been bought by people who are not active skirmishers. Maybe a “sales a sale” attitude has been adopted to get through a tough time?

Still, it’s a second hand item and the price is silly if he wants to tempt someone to by his one instead of just buying a new unit from NV.

Given they claim it's "brand new" I'm of the inclination to agree with you. They've not listed any upgrades/changes to the internals so I'd suspect the FPS is much closer to whatever the stock figures are.

Depends what era TBH.  Cold War stuff I usually get off ebay.  More modern stuff - probably grey-shop but most of mine is off ebay.

Note that if you are intending to come as Soviet - let me know and I can sort you out loaner kit in advance.  Next game is 14 Nov 20

I carry a basic boo-boo kit as I'm on anti-coagulant med's along with a variety of others medications. I don't see any point in carrying stuff you don't know how to use as you're only risking further damage. Admittedly I would like to pursue more in-depth and formally recognised first aid training, especially given my other hobbies, but at the moment it is on hold.

There's a great example on Angry Cop's YouTube channel of some muppet not only failing to apply a tourniquet but also trying to use one where it simply isn't needed by any stretch of the imagination.
