  1. LOL, I made my own defence, seems to satisfy people. ?
  2. Are goats optional ?
  3. Completely agree, 100%, you give a kid a rifle & they fuck up, gotta take part of the blame for not driving home the responsibility of gun ownership. My son was around 9 when he first attended a skirmish, presented himself well, obeyed the rules & didn't let me down. BUT, he has an annoying habit of saying "I know" when your telling him something important that needs to sink in (I blame his mother lol), so when I bought him his first rif & gave him "the talk", & he said "I know", I made the conscious decision to allow him to keep his guns in his room, secured in gun bags, but with no bb's, batteries, or gas, that way I wouldn't have to replace any flat screen tvs, or explain to his mates parents why their lad lost an eye. Fast forward, the rules still apply, he's 26 & still lives at home, & has quite a few rifs. Some might say I've been too controlling on this, but to explain a parable situation, he's been with his longtime gf bout 6 years, pair of total nerds who would always both admit to having no maternal instincts, never wanting kids, so I'd always warn him "belt & braces son, take nothing for granted", & of course his default response would as always was "I know", & I'd roll my eyes lol. BUT I now have a 3yo granddaughter, love her to bits but who was right, me ffs?. I think when it comes to involving anybody else in ANY shooting/projectile pastimes, whether that person is young or old, I take the same attitude as when I'm driving/riding, assume everyone else around you is an idiot lol.
  4. Welcome, take some time to look around, then you'll realise no ones actually endorsing "pellet" guns, we use Airsoft rifs here, specifically non lethal to pretty much everything. Are you here for the Airsoft ?, or trolling & spam ? ?
  5. You read all the same text as me, but I was able to deduce that it was highly likely he was a kid (no offence op), there's the first no-no. Regarding the legal text as to "use" & being satisfied of said use, the seller cannot knowingly guarantee the op has the best intentions, he doesn't reside within the same household & a court would likely argue that the word of a developing teenager wouldn't be enough to guarantee a rif would be kept appropriately. Let's be honest about it, even the gifting clause was never meant for anything more than a parent to buy their offspring the equipment to enable them to play together, who's ever gonna spend £150+ on a rif & freely give it to someone else's kid, that sounds more like grooming to me. The law on airsoft rifs isn't perfect, & can be difficult to navigate, especially when every month or two forums such as this get enquiries about how to circumnavigate the law, sometimes new players who genuinely want to get in to playing, & sometimes blatantly just want a rif, often with no wish to follow a lawful route to ownership & who I frankly wouldn't trust to not wave it around in public at the first opportunity. I personally feel that the genuine players amongst us have a moral obligation, just meeting the vcra requirement verbatim isn't necessarily enough, all too easy to sell to a legal but clearly irresponsible buyer, who's actions down the road might affect all of us & our ability to play (to that end, on the rare occasions I've sold a rif, even pre vcra, I look at post content etc, might sound a bit 1984 but that's my choice). The flip side is I've known plenty of mature teens who I would trust to behave properly.
  6. @Cannonfodder, cheers mate, talk about kill the mood, now everytime I think about his mates mum, I picture a woman that looks like Jimmy Saville ?? ?
  7. Dude, if your gonna give advice on a public forum, make sure you know what your talking about. The op cannot purchase a rif, he has no defence of any sort, he's never played before, & the tone of his posts indicates to me that he's probably under 18. The absolute only way he can get a rif without infringing on the vcra is if it's gifted to him, with no payment of any sort, my earlier comments were purely banter. Personally I'm not a believer in the vcra as a way to legitimately curtail gun crime, & if people with 100% honourable intentions want to sensibly fiddle with the grey areas in order to use rifs on an insured skirmish field, good luck to them as long as they use common sense at all times. OBVIOUSLY I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THAT COURSE OF ACTION ON A PUBLIC FORUM. ?
  8. But it happens all the time with no legal complications........ On Pornhub?
  9. No, definitely not. But if your friends mum wanted to buy it & then gift it to you, that would be fine, just so long as no money changes hands. Although, How you show your gratitude to your mates mum is between you two ?. ?
  10. Edit, I should say back in my ice hockey days, freeze spray was "medicine" of choice for everything that hurt, probably helped by the fact that I was lean & muscular, unlike now lol. You & I are targeting similar issues, but approaching them from different ends of the age/fitness spectrum, so hopefully all our experiences are of use to other members going through similar stuff?. LOL, I've definitely got no shortage of bigger softer areas?, been a very long time since anybody described any part of me as bony?
  11. @SeanM, I can't comment on what works for you mate, only my own experiences, thing about deep heat is it's not like calamine lotion, wiping a bit on the skin isn't gonna do much, it needs to be worked in to the muscle like a deep tissue massage, applied properly it will last most of the day, so much so that if my lower backs niggly, I'll get the missus to give it a good rub in, much easier than trying to do it myself. I've tried the tiger balm, yeah the reds just mental lol, but then I've also tried most of the other stuff, the over the counter gear like volterol, or the prescription gear like fenbid (feels cold when applied), or the higher percentage capsaicin creams, much of it is counterirritant based, half beneficial ingredient & the other half annoying placebo, as you mentioned, designed to distract you from your pains, but ultimately its about what works for any one person, not every person. Which is why people need to act sparingly with this stuff, especially the atopical gear, throw a load on when your not used to it, then wrap the area in some kinda support made of artificial fibres could lead to some serious skin irritations?, that will definitely distract you from your usual aches & pains. As for the the various stretching exercises & warming up, definitely, fill yer boots if your able, unfortunately Ive got 29years on you, if I tried to do the kind of warm up exercises I did when I was 27, I wouldn't make it out of the safezone ?. When you start carrying the long term wear & tear, & associated injuries, acceptance plays a big part in enjoying the game, not feeling the need to behave like red rum when the whistle blows, but rather employ a more tactical approach, aka sneaky mofo, & let the young gazelles on the opposite side run in to my occasional well placed BB, it can be very satisfying?. It is what we make of it I guess?
  12. Here's a good deal, nearly pressed "buy" again myself, then I remembered I clearly have a problem lol? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225890743148?hash=item349823336c%3Ag%3AHFMAAOSwFThlZJ4C&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4PUOU4TkpYfVO%2F84yr04sltQg5k0U9ZcVDUbbbXdCcc4ABup8ngxb4B82t5G6f3f8cZlG9x72YKvPNJvu2wTjN92sXJ%2FID%2BYiSFezxM8rtrlBRwkHzsj15Ifc5rQ50qtqoq4iSaVfcpAftI8MsfzF%2BZL4w4ldIXy81DxGLnVEh%2Fl2wpWgH7yVjUoCKw5QEG6kRYgkjuY130F%2FFkocCqYoUcWgqDHI4GzOS4O3%2B49wkA21Ec0pr7ICEGkuFE8YiskEH0a%2FBlmAqkDp422ZEFOggYO6yRlWiiRnikd3eaVzaKU|tkp%3ABk9SR8bBo6WEYw&LH_ItemCondition=4
  13. I think they were pretty much identical in size & capacity, available colours & a couple of tiny features were the difference. Been a lot of years since I've seen any in use?
  14. LOL, Poxy covid is affecting my vision, had to really blow the picture up, thought I was looking at some kinda orthopaedic gimp boot?
  15. The denali was definitely the daddy of overkill when it came to magazine capacity, on top of all the vertical BIG mag pouches you had the zip on lower section that had further horizontal mag pouches, at a guess I'd say 20-25 stanag mag carry was achievable, my back hurts thinking about it. Recently picked up a helikon tmr, added a condor hydra back panel & I'm modding some kydex type mag inserts to allow instant switching between 7.62, 5.56, & 9mm smg mags without swapping inserts. Yep, I know I always recommend the bulle mle when asked, but I think my decades long search for the perfect loadout (for me?) has triggered a bit of ocd, not helped by my recent forced downtime.
  16. Sounds like you dodged a BB there (?), yep grab the refund, but he might not be so keen to refund the magnifier if he's ordered it from a third party. If you do want it refunded, better attempt it ASAP before it gets shipped.
  17. LOL, way way back I had one of those, looks like a copy (?) of a hsgi denali, remember thinking how good it would be for eating lunch in the field?????? (like half of my rigs I don't think I ever actually played in it)
  18. This?, lost count of the number of gamedays, & a few weekenders, where players turned with gucci vests & t-shirts, no snivel gear whatsoever, most of the time it's their lookout & they usually end up dropping out, wankers, although I remember one gameday getting cancelled less than two hours in, at the ammo bunkers at Lydden, most of the players turned up poorly equipped, & when the forecast snow arrived they all started snivelling. Remember that one @Duff Beer
  19. Just make sure you wash your hands?????
  20. Lol, Welcome to old age, & yep, almost every sport will catch up on you eventually, but especially the high speed & contact sports, but fuckit, how much fun was it getting to this point?. Last few years for me have been rough as fuck, right now I'm hobbling around with recent new right knee, the other knee still to be done, couple of fractures in my right foot from March that still haven't healed, damaged back from my childhood, & the spectre of cancer still hanging over me, not to mention a ton of ongoing grieving & the fact that we're caring for a loved one with a sad prognosis. Sorry for the life story lol, point is every negative in our life, physical and emotional, chips away at our resolve & ability to keep doing what we enjoy, often (but not always ?) made harder when it comes to Airsoft, not everyone around us gets it, half of my family think it's fine to spend thousands every year on new golf clubs/membership/green fees, but shake their heads when I'm sorting out my kit for a game. But if keeping playing is what you want to, you find the way to make it happen. Regards to supports, braces & all the other paraphernalia available, it's difficult to say, what works for one may not be ideal for the next, identifying the weakness in a joint is a priority, then deciding whether you want to overcome that weakness entirely with, for example, a hinged knee brace that stops the lateral pain of something like an acl injury might get you through the day, but at what cost, scar tissue forming & little prospect of recovery. It's a lot of trial and error, one thing I've found can help is snug neoprene joint & back supports, they don't provide much stability but their brilliant for keeping heat in the affected areas, especially this time of year & it's sometimes good to rub a bit of deep heat in the affected areas before putting on the supports, definitely helps with fluidity. Weight obviously plays a massive part, I'm a porker now & short of starving myself it's a vicious circle once you hit a certain age & add injuries to the equation. My answer is to change my playing style, change my load carrying equipment & try to stay away from the heavy guns, but it's hard, I'm an airsofter so obviously I have no willpower whatsoever when it comes to food & guns, which is why I bought an M60 last year which nearly killed me getting home on the train & a long walk at the end of it, but I will field it one day?. In short, step back & reevaluate everything, but don't be a Debbie Downer, only you know your capabilities. JUST DON'T YOU FUCKIN GIVE UP?
  21. Very much so, especially when buying molle platforms, the urge to fill every inch of molle is real, another reason why I favour chest rigs over plate carriers, if I ain't got it I can't fill it lol.
  22. You looking for kit retailers, or suppliers of very specific kit ?, if it's the latter you'll need to give us more info. The term milsim could be broadly used to describe anything featured in a conflict zone, which again is open to massive interpretation according to the region & which side your on. Usually requests for milsim kit is more in regards to larger scale & in particular games over a longer time frame, 24/36/48, maybe even 72hrs & referencing everything from ration packs to snivel kit to sleeping systems, & best kit to carry it all in. Hence the need for specifics ? ?
  23. Is this a pre-curser to you getting the "kids" to start playing with the old man ? ?
