  1. Yup, sounds like the trigger sear, or it could be wear on the piston, especially if it's plastic. The sad truth is that airsoft parts are typically made of Chinesium, and sniper trigger parts in particular are prone to premature wear. I'm not sure what "upgraded version" entails, but if it's got a stronger spring that'll also have contributed. Sight unseen, I wouldn't like to recommend a particular part or solution, you'll want to inspect the trigger sear and piston for signs of wear first.
  2. You see him adding hit markers. Much of the time, you can see his BBs curving off into the distance as he snarls and swears about cheaters. This is one of the reasons why so many sites have banned him: he deliberately gives a false impression about the amount of cheating that goes on. There are, since every site has different attitudes to marshalling, chronoing[*], head shots, power-play, overkill and such. It's only an issue if sites aren't honest about what to expect, or when Phoenix attitudes are taken to other sites. [*] Ouch, Phoenix allow auto fire at 1.3J, tested on 0.2g. I guess their insurers don't know about Joule creep.
  3. The "frangibility" argument is the one I keep hearing in respect of paintball guns "markers", although I'm still wondering what their case law is on that, since that word doesn't appear in the Firearms Act definition of "a barrelled weapon of any description from which a shot, bullet or other missile, with kinetic energy of more than one joule at the muzzle of the weapon, can be discharged." Those gel blasters clearly are realistic imitation firearms, and are intended to be so. And the only argument I've seen put forward for why airguns can't be realistic imitations firearms is because they're actual firearms. That's not an interpretation I agree with (why can't they be both?), but even by that standard, claiming that gel blasters aren't firearms means it wouldn't apply. The thing is, it's not really a serious issue, since they are by any reasonable common sense interpretation even less lethal than airsoft guns, and can be used for the same purposes. It's just that they haven't been blessed with a Holy Circular from the Home Office saying so yet. I don't wish them ill, but...
  4. It's true though. I don't encourage or assist buyers to obtain RIFs without a genuine airsoft defence, but neither am I going to pretend that it's a problem for them to do so given the number of private and business sellers who don't care. Is telling the truth a problem? "Nobody cares" also means that nobody is monitoring this forum in order to cry "Ah hah! Shenanigans! Remove their defence!", because they could prove that with a few test purchases. In fact, gel blaster sellers could be prosecuted right now, given that they don't enjoy the airsoft defence. And yet... https://gelsoft.co.uk/gelsoft-rifles.html
  5. It's real life for his victims.
  6. The Edge 2.0s with the Asters do represent pretty good value for money compared to the price of adding an Aster to a base gun. That said, the Double Eagle Fire Control systems have pretty much the same features, and can be had for even less. As you say, given stock numbers at the moment it's more a case of buying what you can.
  7. Mushrooms are magic, THC is science. https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2014-07-16-how-cannabis-causes-paranoia https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4332941/ Anyway, sorry to hear that Licking Mustard was allowed on site, and that shenanigans were afoot. Regardless if it were he, the latter is somewhat inevitable at any large event. Inhibitions get dropped, "holiday rules" apply, there's anonymity for the few genuine wrong 'uns. The same thing used to happen in big reenactment events, which were also effectively unregulated on the day. You can publish all the rules you like, but psychopaths gunna psycho.
  8. Normally I'd get all <ackchually> over this, but just for once I'm going to take a higher level view: OP lost a sale and created this drama through being overly paranoid, because nobody cares. Police forces and Trading Standards don't care. Nobody is enforcing this. No private seller is ever, in practice, going to be asked to provide a defence. Even if they were, there are no standards for it. A simple declaration by the buyer about the intended use would satisfy the letter of the law. UKARA, and all equivalent schemes, are suggestive, not prescriptive. Given any evidence that the buyer is a regular airsoft player, I'd have no qualms at all about selling to them. Oh, and nobody is going to care about GDPR complaints either. Not while there are feelings being hurt on Facebook.
  9. I'd note that the best thing you can do with those AEPs is to switch to using a 7.4v lipo battery, either by wiring in a new connector, or by using an aftermarket battery like this one: https://www.airsoftworld.net/world-exclusive-lithium-polymer-aep-battery-li-po-lipo-7-4v-550mah.html
  10. Yup to the above. The iron/plastic sights are neither here nor there given that you'll almost certainly throw some sort of optic on there. The X-ASR is only there for trigger protection, it doesn't add any features, and mine craps out with higher draw motors. I'd go Edge 2.0, or any of the Double Eagle FCS models.
  11. Hmm, sorry that happened to you, and thanks for letting us know. It's pretty concerning that we're being targeted. I hadn't considered that we'd be worthwhile, but scammers can net hundreds per victim on each bogus ad. I admit to being a bit lax on this, but I've just changed my password to a rando one now.
  12. Agreed, and I should hasten to add that I'm not criticising anyone for buying top end stuff. I mean, if we take the airsoft argument to its logical conclusion, there's no reason to buy anything more than a £90 CYMA.
  13. Pro-tip: Shimming with red electrical tape gives you the most Joule creep.
  14. But wh... ... oh. Fair enough, good point. Although it won't move by 6mm, so I'm not sure what sort of misfeed it would protect against. A fragment of BB? It's only going to be shoved in as far as the gearbox pushes it during assembly, and won't work forwards as there will be some spring tension against it, so it should be fine. I'd still wave a file at it though. It's airsoft, nothing is standard, and once you start mixing and matching, the onus is on you to make it all fit.
  15. Well, you can, if you want to deflect (badum tsssh) from the question being asked. I'd rather have the cheapest rod dot than any iron sight. Whether it's worth having anything other than the cheapest red dot for airsoft use at airsoft ranges, dunno. Cheap I was raised, and cheap I will remain.
  16. Oh, wow, remember his 6.44mm "full thrust" system. At least he's still selling BBs for it, in any weight you want, as long as you want 0.58g bio or 0.62g non-bio.
  17. You may even be able to flog it for more than you paid for it. At least, PatrolBase seem to think so.
  18. How good an optic do you need for slinging plastic out to 50m, when the slightest breath of wind will produce more of a deflection than the cheapest Chinesium red dot? 🤔
  19. Ah, he's OK. Pushing the marketing pretty hard, but he's making a living from it now. Gameplay wise, he's never gone full Licking Mustard as far as I'm aware. As much as anything else greenish-brownish based, in European woodland, at airsoft ranges.
  20. That's a 1990s solution that deserves a 1990's emoticon 8O Really though, it's a bot, it'll have used something disposable. Manual action or reaction can't keep up with automated spam, thus the suggestion that some sort of scripted solution might be better. If I wasn't so lazy I'd have a look at what Invision offer. But I am, so...
  21. £800 https://www.uttings.co.uk/p134314-vortex-amg-uh-1-gen-ii-holographic-sight-amg-hs02/ £600 if it were in stock here https://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/vortex-razor-amg-uh-1-holographic-sight-24081-p.asp I guess the extra £200-£400 is because it's being marketed to airsofters. We do rather ask for it.
  22. It's the exact same link in every post though.
  23. Just wondering if there's anything that can be done about the spambot that's obsessed with creating new johnnyufafrN+1 accounts, reposting old content, and adding the exact same link to https://electroambientspace.com/how-to-play-slotxo/ every time. It feels like there should be a very-small-shell-script solution to this rather than having to manually clean up multiples of them every day.
  24. Hijacking random accounts on forums seems like a lot of effort, but when we're talking about £250 of free money from each victim, with zero comeback, I can see why it might attract semi-organised crime. There's no way that sites can keep on top of these, we're just going to have to caveat emptor harder and harder. At this point, I consider anything other than PayPal goods and services (or cash face to face) to be 100,00,0000% a scam.
