Where did you hear that? I'm not an expert but I believe its the OPPOSITE. (I do have 18 GBBP's and 6 GBBR's which have zero issues using Ultrair) Gas guns NEED to have the oil in the gas to protect the seals in the magazines. (That's why all airsoft gas has some silicone oil mixed in) You just clean the barrel and hop rubber after heavy use. Use Isopropyl Alcohol on a strip of cloth with the cleaning rod. DON'T go into the hop rubber. Use a Q-Tip with a drop of Isopropyl for the hop rubber. Dry gas such as Propane needs silicone adding to it because its not meant for airsoft and without added oil the mag seals will dry up resulting in leaks and needing replacements... The only reason some people use Propane is because its cheaper than green gas. The airsoft fill adaptors have a port to add the silicone oil.

Now where have we seen this monstrosity before?

I didn't know it had a bearing on the piston end. Yeah I think one bearing is enough but its less efficient on the piston because of the added mass.

Personally I'd rather get a lower power spring or cut some coils rather than take out the bearing.

Funny I've been eyeing up one of these even though I already have a CA MP5 and JG MP5K. I was toying with the idea to get an SD to put a longer barrel in but duno if it will need one. For your build the Unknown spring at 325 seems ideal. Are you thinking of changing the hop rubber?

Yes, if its damaged its the likely cause. Duno about a replacement but I suggest you take it out so you can try to visually match it with another make.

They certainly can work but the cheap chinesium will break at much lower torque loads. To put it in perspective, a really GOOD set is quite a bit more expensive.

Agree with the above ^ BUT get a good set from a known brand otherwise you may end up with two bits of metal to extract ? (I'd go for THESE) Put some oil on it and leave for a couple of hours. As the aboves... A slightly larger Torx head or flathead A flathead screwdriver on the side and tap gently but fast with a small hammer. (Counter clockwise of course)

I'd suspect the battery as well. Especially if its the same age as the MP5 You shouldn't be able to hold the motor pinion As Sewdhull said, its probably worth doing a service anyway. Reshim etc...

Could be worth trying your salvage idea just to see if it works. Then keep it as a backup

I know the feeling as I always use single shot even with an AEG and Hi-Cap. (I tend to die when moving up so needs good co-ordination and suppression from fellow players to work) I may give my GBBR a go when I can get enough mags. (Though my main at the moment is a Lonex BAW ? which kicks as much as any of my GBBRs)

So 150 shots maximum before you have to stop and reload mags ? Its going to be tough going up against AEGs and HPA with hi-caps at 20+ rps ? Eh? With a GBBR that's the ONLY way to play ? Gunman FilmSim days have single shot rules and ammo restrictions of 600 BB's for general players. (Other rules for machine gunners, snipers etc) I'm tempted to take a GBBR to one of those games.
