  1. I get any hard to find spare parts from KYAirsoft Very reliable
  2. OK gotcha ?
  3. Err, his profile page is still there... Philipp - Airsoft Forums UK (airsoft-forums.uk)
  4. Nope, he's still here: Philipp - Airsoft Forums UK (airsoft-forums.uk)
  5. He should definitely be banned
  6. The first one with the lights looks damn cool. (No lights on the last one I presume) Do you need to fill with oil? A bit too expensive for me unfortunately.
  7. Expect lots of disruption at this time of year. Could be that staff are on holiday so it'll be difficult for them to deal with returns/refunds. Not good of course but understandable. Best to pursue in the new year.
  8. You can get a riser for any weapon to mount a red dot higher
  9. Make sure the magazine is out of the gun. You'll have to somehow get the guide rod to come back forward. Failing that you may have to return it for a replacement.
  10. Then definitely locked up gearbox. Could be something broken blocking the gears or rust
  11. It could be either. Does the motor make any noise when doing a quick trigger pull? (like its trying to turn) If yes then gearbox is seized. Either way they will both need cleaning and lubricating to see if they are still viable.
  12. That does look quite rough. Definitely don't keep trying if it doesn't want to move. You'll have to open up the gearbox to clean and see what the problem is. Since its old and in poor condition its perfect to have a go at tinkering without risking breaking a working one.
  13. The amount we spend on our hobby is a closely guarded secret even from ourselves ? Think of the toys as investments. Take care of them and at least you'll get some money back. Some of my best purchases have been broken which I fixed to sell for a small profit. Or occasionally where they increase in value due to rarity etc. I've definitely turned into more of a collector which is getting ridiculous and I keep saying "This is the last one, I don't want any more" but then something comes up which is a great deal, unique looking or collector classic ? I don't have enough wall space to hold them individually and its getting to the point that its a big job to take a picture of all of them ? (I have to do an update next year) At least I don't spend too much on clothing and tactical gear. I've learned to go lightweight My son's inheritance isn't going to be money or property so he'll avoid any taxes ?
  14. Welcome back ? Pity about your old toys being destroyed. 1. Do a search on the forum as there have been many discussions about 'best starter gun' In brief I would suggest to look at JG, CYMA, SpecnaArms and (Double Eagle for certain models) Painful as it is, we would always recommend renting for your first 3 games to get UKARA registered again. It will also let you see (and probably try) some other toys to get an idea what's out there now. 2. Yes, I think most Baofengs need to have their frequencies adjusted to legally use without a license. But most sites have a radio license which kind of covers you I believe. I'm sure someone will give more detailed advice. 3. Not sure on this one. Google search? I'm sure others will chime in...
  15. That's great news! All the Classic Army toys I have are really nicely made and perform well.
  16. I have a Classic Army MP5 and really like it but I thought they stopped making airsoft toys years ago. EDIT: Did find this one which I assumed would be old stock Classic Army AEG PM5 A5 with Flashlight Handguard - Zero One Airsoft
  17. As far as I know all AEG MP5's have polymer lowers. I think your best option for your budget is the CYMA blue which is a good performer. EDIT: This looks good CYMA MP5 CM.041J (davescustomairsoft.co.uk)
  18. I agree but then they'll probably start posting in existing threads. So any post by a new user would need approval which is probably just as much or even more work for the admins.
  19. To re-iterate whats been said before. (too late to the conversation ?) You have done well to wait until you have UKARA number and then not go out and buy the most expensive toys straight away. The Specna's you chose are good starter guns which you can upgrade or keep as backups in the future. They should perform noticeably better than the rentals as the hops are new and you'll be able to set them properly. Keep some budget aside for vests to hold the magazines etc, good ankle support boots, LiPo batteries and decent charger. (search for recommended in the forum) You probably know, your son will need a one piece full face mask.
  20. OK, well that would be my choice ?
  21. Did it come wired to mr30 from new? Might be a new thing
  22. Yep, totally up to you. (I thought the gun was wired to Deans) Doesn't make much sense that there are 3 wires going into the mr30 which then connects to only 2 wires on the battery. Two wires must be going to one. (Likely a sensor wire for a MOSFET)
  23. Yeah, just chop off the mr30's and replace with Deans. (One wire at a time of course ?) More connectors = wasted power and less space.
  24. That's an easy choice: The R608 is cheaper, looks cooler and most importantly it has a full size hi-capa magazine. The Nighthawk 1911 mag doesn't hold much gas at all
  25. Hey again ? On the AEG front the budget contenders are JG (JingGong), CYMA, Double Eagle (very good for certain models) and SpecnaArms. Generally you can get a decent performing shooter for £120-£200 so I'd guess prices have come down a bit with quality and performance going up a bit. Probably the main difference with AEGs are the batteries as we generally use LiPos now with intelligent chargers. More power in a smaller package. For GBB pistols & rifles the most common is WE-Tech (WE). Decent performers but materials do tend to wear relatively quickly. TM are still going strong and GHK are highly regarded. I'm sure others will chime in so maybe we should do a poll of everyone's opinion for the rankings
