  1. Of course they went for the one that closest resembles an M4. Yet it's 10/20% heavier then the rifle it replaces. Aesthetically I didn't like any of the three rifles, Though it would have been cool to the GD with Plastic ammo.
  2. UNCompany are one of the oldest Airsoft Companies in existence. However they are also a company who wont get with the times and have a decent website. They are a very trusted name though. Bank Transfer will be fine.
  3. That is an old school G&G Mp5 SD GARS Handguard. They are expensive and no longer made. However the Gunshop in Lille France has one. GG KIT MP5 SD GARS - Gunshop (gunshoplille.com) You'll need to convert the front end of the RIF to an MP5 SD, So new cocking tube, Front Sight, Cocking Handle, Handguard holder and G&G Rail covers. It will require some technical skill and some tools to mate the G3 receiver to the SD front end. ::GTapex.com:: Tokyo Marui G3/MC-51 to MC-51SD (aka the G3 SBS) conversion guide
  4. Thinking either hiking across Dartmoor, or travelling somewhere long distance to play Airsoft this weekend. Anyone got any recommendations on sites that are worth travelling and staying overnight for? Maybe a Saturday and Sunday? Restricted to Public Transport. I was looking at some of the sites in East Anglia. But looking for other suggestions.

Hiking across Dartmoor beats airsoft every time; my son and I had three days on the moor last weekend, our first visit this year.

@Tactical Pith Helmet Getting to Tuddenham on Public Transport from Dagenham has always been a no go! I have been before, it's not bad at all. But not worth the ballache.

@colinjallen I decided against it this weekend. I just did a 17 Mile hike around the North Downs and Lower Weald. I may go Airsoft tomorrow, haven't decided!

@Asomodai Nice!  There are some great routes around that area.

  5. French Daguet Warm Weather Cap. My Légion étrangère loadout is nearly complete. And second time lucky "Hopefully" a pair of Swiss M83 that will fit me.
  6. I think the biggest barrier is weight limits at this point. Post Office/RM wont take anything above 2KG I think. So most rifles will still be PF48.
  7. Oh wow. Has that changed recently??? I stand corrected!
  8. He sent it Royal Mail. Not Parcelforce. Thats the Parcel Force prohibited list. Will it get seized? I have doubts. But no experience. I did accidently send out a rifle PF24 before and it got through. Probably doesn't help in this instance.
  9. Classic Army Proline Aug? Long barrel A1 with scope
  10. Pretty sure its the other way around. A&K = V2.5 and G&G V2
  11. New SE Tour Review now up. RIFT The Ridge.

  12. Site Name: RIFT The Ridge Contact details: 07751586781 Website Address: https://riftairsoft.com/ Facebook Page: RIFT Airsoft "The Ridge" Barton Le Clay | Facebook Site Address: Luton Rd, Barton-le-Clay, Bedford MK45 4LG I had put off going to airsoft recently despite having been packed ready to go for the past 4 weeks. A last minute dash to celebrate an anniversary resulted in me looking at Airsoft sites close to Dunstable for Easter Sunday. A second visit to Red 1 The School was on the cards but I did spot that RIFT Airsoft were playing The Ridge which was pretty darned close. A quick message to @Albiscuit and we got booked in. Despite doing these reviews for years, I had never visited a RIFT site, Always wanted to do COM 3 but never managed to get around to it. RIFT Airsoft have been going for years and have a knack for acquiring fairly unique sites. General consensus about the site from previous reviews: "You get a work out, but it's fun". Medium sized ex Quarry turned 4x4 Trail of which the entrance is scarily located right on the onramp to the A6 (As in you are literally about to merge onto the A6 blink and you'll miss the site entrance on the left and have to come back around from the next junction). The Ridge is a Sandy/Woodland site which has huge elevation changes around the North, North West and West sides of the site. Very steep hills which need careful footwork to navigate. Despite being promoted as a Quarry, it has lots of Bush style woodland vegetation which provides some cover and a challenge to walk through. Short/Medium/Long Engagement distances, though due to the stronger wind in the large open area long distance engagement was difficult. There are no man made structures at all. It's a pure site in that regard. The site has no permanent Airsoft event infrastructure. It is all brought in from outside in a van for the day. Good: USP: Not many sites like this in the UK. Sandpit closed down years ago, Imperium's Quarry is quite small and the one used in Kent for the RUCKUS games is almost never used (More of a "Guest" site.) The Ridge quarry is not as good or featured as the other quarry sites, but it's open more often. There is no quarry machinery etc. Just the sand and rock left over. Very glad it exists though if you want a somewhat different game day to usual. (Roll out the desert uniform!) Safety Brief: Very much a "mall" style safety brief, long, but covered everything and it was needed due to the natural dangers the site has. Shop: Pretty good shop. A large selection of low/mid tier pistols and rifles. Gear, gas and bb's. Game Modes: More complicated then your average skirmish, with multiple objectives (The pole game was quite interesting). You need to pay attention in the game brief to make sure your team win. Even if you dominate the opposing teams spawn point, they can score points if you aren't playing for the objective. Chrono: Mandatory, nothing was tagged, but everyone's rifle was noted and FPS was ticked off on a sheet. I do prefer tagging, but this is a reasonable way of doing it. (As long as people don't switch up to a different "M4". FPS limits are 350FPS for AEG, 370FPS for LMG (With MED) 450FPS for DMR and 500 FPS for BASR. Green gas pistols were not chronoed. Average: Playing Area: It's sandy, which makes it different, but with more woodland then you expect, and the woodland is where most of the play occurred. The sandy areas were "mostly" open and flat which did not encourage people to use them as anything more then a shortcut to get to the woodland. The woodland was dense, but passible to the West and North West, North was higher foliage and passable, The South East and South was more dense and mostly impassable. All woodland sections had open clay paths. throughout. Not as many brambles as you might expect for a Quarry site, but still enough to keep you looking to avoid. Value: £30 for a quarry site is perfectly fine, despite lack of features. Clientele: Appeared to be 18+, A mixture of serious and casual players. Seemed friendly enough and stayed within their friendship groups. Had a laugh with some on the way to the safe zone. Despite a zero policy on drugs there were a couple of players hotboxing in a car in carpark at lunchtime. Turn around time: Could have been shorter, but it was quite a hot day so appreciated the rest. (The walk down to the car was pretty steep as well) Food: Pork Hot Dogs cooked on-site, No veggie/non pork option, when we asked if they had an alternative they said we needed to have contacted them before hand, but I couldn't find that information on the website. There was a fair selection of Sweets, Crisps and Drink. Hit taking: Mostly good, but with a few of the usual teflon Multiglam and casual players. Frustrating at times as they wont take their hits until they hit you. The determination to kill someone before admitting to being hit before is strong to those people. Marshalling: Mostly hands off. I didn't see them get too involved in the non hit taking aspect, but they were always within shouting distance to query the game objectives, directions and current points total. All had radios. Bad: Car Park/Entrance: Rough going. The Entrance to the site is right on the entrance to the A6. You need to go slow to catch it before you run out of On Ramp. The car park is split into two, an uphill dirt track where you park on the side of the road (I recommend parking as close to the top of this) Or a largish car park at the bottom of the track though whilst level, it means you have to haul yourself down and up the hill in-between games. Safe Zone: It's basically the Car Park and Entrance. People setup out of their cars. No cover. As mentioned, the site has no permanent infrastructure. All brought in on the day. Toilets: A single Portaloo for everyone to use. It was a hot day so I didn't dare use it. Conclusion: We liked the site, it's different. We can rock up here more often then other Quarry sites. But as much as you want it to be, it doesn't give you that "Quarry experience" It seems more like a Woodland site with large open sandy/rocky bits. Going up and down the elevated areas does sap the energy and can be dangerous, but taking it nice and slow through the dense woodland bits tends to work better and require less effort. I am sure we will return as it is really quite close to London (With a car it's a doddle as it's all Motorway/A Road). Definitely a site for the more serious and experienced player. Bullpup Watch: LOADS, 2x FAMAS, L85, L86, UAR, TAVOR etc etc. Best Guess Map:
  13. On the other hand. I have an FN57 that needs a Guarder Frame and Slide kit installed...
  14. Yup. It's a pretty good upgrade and may do exactly what you need it to do without opening up the gearbox. The stock Ferrite ICS Motors are pretty pants.
  15. I would just get a better motor at this point and stick with 7.4v lipo. SHS/Rocket Green 16TPA should do the trick.
  16. I am mildly interested in a KA VSS with Midcaps. But dont bust a gut about getting a price atm.
  17. It's got gas in it. You must love them.
  18. On one the gearbox had major work done to it and made it worse performing (Drained a 7.4v 1450mah lipo without firing a full high cap mags worth of bbs), noiser then before and made irreversible changes to the shell. I had to replace the entire gearbox. The other sounded and performed fantastic, but was reassembled in a hurry to the point the trigger wouldn't reset in semi. Both were longer then usual jobs and I was charged at a premium for. Because it's a real pain to ship back and/or drop off I couldn't be arsed in pursuing it, sold one at a big loss that didn't recover even the cost of the repair work let alone the rifle and parts. I know that's my fault I didn't pursue the issue. These are things that could have been picked up on if tested for a reasonable amount of time before being sent back to the customer. Going by conversations with other people in private, I am not the only person to be left a bit disappointed. I think better decisions could have been made whilst the work was being done to reduce the cost and get things performing as they should have. Either way, I have put it behind me now.
  19. Still unable to view my attachments. Can there be an investigation as to why that might be?
  20. I think a boneyard section is a great idea as well.
  21. @rocketdogbert Is the man. Otherwise Shoutyman on Youtube is pretty competent with GBBP's (Negative). Not a fan of what he did to my AEG's I sent him though.
  22. Removing the tooth of the release side of a sector gear can cause nozzle and tappet timing issues, potential misfeeds etc.
  23. This advert is COMPLETED!

Decided to put Airsoft on the back burner for a while and clear out some of my more esoteric rifles. I have gone full on AK/Russki Recently, so don't see these getting a look in anytime soon. SRC XM8 in Olive Drab Airsoft Pro G36 nozzle AirsoftPRO G36 Hop unit ZCI 363mm Inner barrel SHS 14 ½ Tooth Piston ZCI 18:1s Perun Mosfet SHS Selector plate Maple Leaf Macaron 60 degrees and 0hm nub SHS Neo high Torque motor One High Cap G36 Mag. Wired to Deans. It's in almost new condition, very little wear. Has a very occasional issue which causes the trigger to stop resetting fully. Pushing the selector ever so slightly in the right direction makes the trigger reset. As the usual saying goes "Could be a simple fix" But I really don't have the inclination to work it out, likely to be the Selector out of line on the receiver and just needs reassembling better. Could need new G36 style selector. The advertised price reflects this. Used for 3 Skirmishes max. Gearbox has been nicely shimmed. Collection from my house in Dagenham/London. I can travel to you within the London area as well. Postage will be £16 via PF48. Reduced to just £170. Very firm on price. No haggling Ta. Please see video below for proof of operation.

    £170

  24. Cheers for that. Fire Selector wise, I think it can effect all of them depending on how it was put back together and just takes a couple of adjustments to fix it. There is a knack to it. I think mine are fine though. I forgot I had a spare gearbox shell and Motor Cage as well (Motor Cages are sold out world wide being the weak point in high FPS builds) So that would be worth something. Still on the fence about selling. I did ask elsewhere but people seem to think £280 is the max I could get for it... But they also tried to offer that same amount to me in PM. (Despite saying no PMs!)
