i3666 reacted to Taxman22 in The new G&G GC16 range
Good shout I3666 I am also trying to work out what the difference is between the range as there are alot of simillar models but different prices with different models but no description of what makes them different. Tough for a newbie to workout what to buy!!

Has anyone got experience/used of any of the guns in the new GC16 range? I am keen to get feedback if so.

F&O do not allow smoke at the Outpost, as it would stay there for days. The temperature remains fairly constant at about 50F all year, so cool in summer and warm in winter. It can get very "up close" there, especially if someone is waiting in the dark to ambush you, so full face or glasses and face mask is recommended.

Went there for my first game an thoroughly enjoyed it! It's a fair bit cold down there but you tend to stay warm when running about the place. It may take a while to get your bearings and get an idea of the layout of the place but don't worry if you're clueless at first. Also, take the brightest torch you have because not only is it dark but a bit of a haze also seems to builds up towards the end of the day.

When I used mine with my AKs74u with the flash hider off, the barrel obscured the sensor. But then it did stick out nearer to an inch. So I cut the end of the barrel (cue posts banging on about crowning and needing a lathe), works fine now.

Xcortech XT501 is just as good as the Marui and slightly cheaper. If your clusmy though I would go for the B&T it stands up to getting whacked a bit better and is pretty good for the price.

I recently got one of these for CQB - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Tactical-Holographic-Reflex-Red-Green-Dot-Scope-4-Reticle-Red-Laser-Sight-/111677290439?hash=item1a007c37c7:g:89oAAOSwrklVSId8
It's a sight with integrated laser. I have no idea if it's realistic or has a real steel equivalent, but it look rather cool on an MP5 PDW with limited rail space! It also came with a tail cap for the laser, so I remove the remote switch if I'm outdoors and not using the laser. Although to be honest, the laser is mostly for coolness factor. I find it either gives away my position or warns people that I'm aiming at them - so I don't use it much!
Then I just run a separate LED torch which was cheap and cheerful off eBay but does the job! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UltraFire-Tactical-WF-501B-CREE-R5-LED-1Mode-Flashlight-Torch-Mount-Switch-Set-/261174307295?hash=item3ccf33a9df:g:0J0AAOxyD5pRKIlm
That does me - the sight doesn't take up too much space and the torch is easily removed if I don't need it.

I totally agree that less is more, especially when you are running around and getting hot indoors. I am a quick player and like to stay agile, so your points are duly noted

Lasers are not much cop, a lot of sites have strict rules in using them. There is also the fact that just because the laser hits something there is no guarantee your bbs will.
Tracer unit is a better option in the dark.
Torch is a case of preference I prefer to carry one in my pocket than weapon mount it. Gives me more options on how to use it.
In cqb less is more, being quick and aggressive will be more effective than any add ons you can put on your toy gun.

I just had a look on Amazon, and although some are not titled as thermal, i.e. Dye Paintball Goggle, Barrack Grey, but in the description is should say whether it has a thermal lens. There are genuine ones for £90-100. Mine is the Dye Precision i4.

To the best of my knowledge, they all come with thermal lenses but the color maybe different. I would recommend Just Paintball as they are UK based and free delivery. You can also ring them to check on the lens query too.

There isn't really any i can honestly suggest as i don't generally use them, i've tried out some guns with ones attached and yeh it looks tacticool but it's not something i have extensive experience with, hopefully some other members can be more helpful but most laser sights will state if they are Adjustable Laser Aim Module's (ALAM).
As for daylight most laser sights will work but it's always good to check reviews and see if there are any youtube videos showing it in action.

i3666 reacted to K@rl in CQB Gun Attachments
Anythin is suitable it's down to personal choice. I would suggest a tracer unit aswell

Not all lasers will give away your position unless you point it in peoples eyes, which if you are using one you best not do. But you do have to be careful, theres been a few times somone is using a laser and a smoke has been popped, as soon as that happens it's like mission impossible you can see the laser beams around corners.
If you are going to get one, get one that is adjustable (allows you to zero it in so it is a practical bit of kit and not just for show) also get one that has a pressure switch if you want it only on when you apply pressure.
I've never used an all-in-one jobbie so don't have any knowledge of how good these are but like i said above see if there are adjustable lasers so you know your hitting somewhere near where the dot actually is.

I run a very low lumen torch so i can see in the total dark but dont wreck my dark light adjusting eyes. And i also run a tracer. But thats about all i use on my cqb m4 and mp5

i3666 reacted to K@rl in CQB Gun Attachments
There are. I would recommend however getting seperate ones because it gives u more options. Torch, laser or torch and laser. Also means you can keep gun more ballanced. Just my opinion.
