So basically what your post is saying is unless all sites only allow their own rental guns to be used on site then there’s no point in chrono’ing anyones gun as no one can be trusted to any degree not to cheat ? In that case it comes down too when you book on a game they ask just one single question “are you a cnut yes or no ?” Simple as that really .

My new home site has two chrono stations running at the same time , everyone has to go line up at the same time , one does .2’s the other .25’s and once all the .2’s are done they then do all other weights AND the marshal has a laminated sheet with the BB weight +fps variants on it to workout if it’s a yay or a nay . Chrono takes practically no time at all compared to basically every other site I’ve ever been too , chrono stays open till safety brief when it then closes any late attenders or anyone else who missed it as they were too busy gob’ing off to their mates have to wait till the start of the warm up game to chrono so it only eats in to their game time and not everyone else’s on site . Me personally I think it works bloody well as a system . Not denying your going to get variants in fps output shot by shot but some of the discrepancies I’ve seen over the years at different sites I’ve attended have been farcical ! 😳 hence I always try to stay mid to low 300’s with my fps and I have my own chrono to check my guns before game days on the off chance the fuckup fairy has been and sprinkled some powdered bollox on my gatt’s while they’ve been laid up ! 🤦‍♂️

Not saying I’m ‘deadshot’ or anything like that but even when it’s a small amount of player visible I can still usually hit them no problem without ‘optical assistance’ just through having a pretty good idea were the bb is likely to go as I alway try holding my guns the same way and aim and shoot from the same position every time I engage a target ? wether that’s because I learned to shoot with iron sights and never with optics of any sort I don’t know , could be I suppose .

My take on the whole “high rise/low rise” argument is as airsofters why are we arguing about which optic setup is best when we are working at ranges where you don’t actually NEED optics to hit a man sized target ! 🤣🤣🤣

Sorry but all I’m getting from your posts is you appear to be defending the site owner for his own site incompetence , as @Kls77has said on several occasions the marshal chrono’ing at the start was fully informed about his mates set up for the day and passed him to play with that set up so that should be the end of it , but the owner then comes along random chrono’ing (which is perfectly acceptable , I’ve always been a fan of it) but to decide no he can’t play with that set up and telling him he has to leave the site with that set up is outrageous . In no way shape or form was the player at fault it’s ALL on the site . The one giant elephant in the room I’ve not seen mentioned yet is the actual chrono’s being used and how accurate they are ? was the gun re-chrono’ed on the same chrono or a different one ? When was the last time anyone checked them to see if there actually recording accurately or not ? As I (like many others I’m sure) am frequently quite bemused by the variation in the upper and lower FPS numbers my guns are ‘recorded’ doing at different games days I attend especially as all my guns are kept stock and never ‘up-graded’ as I’ve always been a believer in “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it !” So there shouldn’t be a particularly noticeable variation in the output once there bedded in . I do think it’s fair to say most sites get the chrono’s out on a Sunday morning check the guns and then end of day or some time during it there either chucked in a box or in to a cupboard until the next game day , hardly the way you’d want a machine used to accurately check energy output treated is it ? just saying .

Have to disagree about the Cyma AK , having had that very same model for a good few years as one of my ‘lenders’ I can happily say yes it may be a TM clone BUT it’s certainly not even close to being as bad as those old school TM ones were back in the day . Plus as that’s one of the staple rentals of an awful lot of sites one would think it can’t be that delicate in the wider scheme of things ? 😉

Won’t lie I’ve NEVER seen a night game work , wether it was the ones at the NAE , at my home site wknd’er or other wknd events I’ve been too none of them have worked to some degree(from this is just silly ! all the way up to this is a total clusterfuck !) the ones I’ve been involved with have had every player imaginable from guys wandering around with million candle power torches permanently switched on lighting up the entire site , players with weapon lights blipping off and on as they try to move all tacticool through the undergrowth to guys with ridiculously expensive NVG’s and every thing in between . The main reason I think they never really worked is the same reason I avoid ‘Milsim’ games as well , ‘Discipline’ or more precisely LACK of Discipline . For events like these to work you need people who will follow the rules to the letter , but if a player drops a big wedge of beer tokens on an event and is then told “wait over there we’ll be back for you in 8hrs” there not going to do it and I don’t blame them either ! For any plan heavy event to really work you need the people taking part to be prepared to sit around for hrs on end doing absolutely F*** all for just a few minutes of frantic activity and most just won’t do it . So endeth the sermon ! 😉 Seen one a good while ago , it was shite . Went off , wouldn’t go off , wouldn’t stop , was loud and bright then quiet and weak . You get what you pay for sprung too mind ?

1st thanks for having the balls to stand up and say who it was , way to many chuck allegations around but won’t back them up with names . Any whoo what you’ve said here convinces me even MORE what a pile of shit you were dropped in through no fault of your own . This is just a right crock of shit , he chrono’ed at the start and he passed with the ammo and set up he planned to use through out the day but he then gets random chrono’ed later by site owner and told “nope you failed due to joule creep so get off my site !” That’s the marshal running the chrono stations fault and the site owners fault for either not having good enough instructions for the marshal to follow or employing a right Mong of a marshal which is all on the site management and most DEFINITELY not on you or your mate ! Were you even offered any remedy to this seeing as the site created the problem that stopped you and your mate being able to play and so have to leave ? I'm sorry but That’s not just moving the goal posts that’s sticking a stamp on them and shipping them off to the other side of the country with Parcelfarce FFS ! Yes I agree name the site they deserve to be named and shamed .

If it’s just you and your son keeping in touch out on the field yea definitely go for the cheap’n’cheerful PMR option like the kind you can pick up from Argos for a couple of 🦑 but do be prepared for a bit of bleedout from others users when on site with a lot of players all using a limited number of channels . There are many different more ‘professional’ radios available but I do think it’s fair to say for 90% of players the next step up is to go for a Boefeng handset that has a myriad of programmable channels BUT as Tommikka said you should have a licence To run them , I will also say in all the yrs of playing I’ve never actually spoken to anyone who has a licence to use them . Now I am not advocating breaking the law in any way shape or form BUT I’ve also never encountered or heard about anyone being prosecuted for using said handset for Airsofting either . So ultimately it’s up to you what you want out of going with Comm’s and how you want to go about it . 👍

Me and my best mate and various other friends used to go every year(obviously the pandemic put the mockers on that !) but we never went for the gameplay just for the social side and an excuse to act like kids again and decompress (we both have quite high stress jobs) , your NEVER going to have even a hint of control or mission effective planning with that many civvies ’playing war’ in the woods BUT did it really matter to us ? no not really , the huge numbers and the absolute cluster fuck those numbers caused was one of the very reasons we enjoyed going ! It is funny as hell when you’ve got two or three or even sometimes just one bloke holding up 10/20/30/+ players at a point for literally ages ! And to be honest we just played our own game we never followed the ‘game plan’ (hence we always play ‘others’)we had real satisfaction from spending our time slowly slowly making our way through the undergrowth to get as close as we could to an enemy objective or even their main base to try and pick off players who then act totally bemused when they get hit ! on more than one occasion we were found out not by the skill at arms of the other teams but by them hearing us giggling like a pair of school girls due to the confusion we just caused ! 🤦‍♂️🤣 it started loosing its appeal for me when they stopped bring the shop to the site , I do fully accept it must have been an absolute nightmare getting it their and set up and yes you can still order on line and they’ll deliver to you on site BUT for me personally and my mate the thing is there are no Airsoft shops even vaguely close to where I live so this used to be my only experience of a shop(and from talking to them it was the same for a lot of other players too)so it certainly was a ‘kid in a candy shop’ for us and we certainly did a lot of impulse buying due to the goods being their in front of me but equally there were a few things I’d wanted but no longer did after seeing them ‘in the flesh’ either . So to finish my ramble all I’d say is if your thinking of going just do it and make your own mind up and don’t rely completely on others ‘opinions’ . Savvy ?
