Anything that means getting up before 0900 hrs at the weekend is too early. However, if I want to go to an event then I just make the effort to get up early and go. Not being relient on public transport makes this possible. Advantage of driving is that I can go door to door and carry as much kit as I like. The downside is feeling knackered on the drive home and not being able to have a nap unlike those using a train. I accept an early start time for a full days gameplay, I suppose sites could have variable timings based on the season and available daylight if playing outdoors.

Yes, I should have expanded the abbreviation CQB to Close Quarter Battle. Which is what an indoor site would provide.

Maybe a few relevant details would help. Where are you planning opening this site? Is this arena going to be an indoor venue or open air? CQB? Regarding Question 4- How far would you travel to play airsoft? Is this one way or return trip? I have no sites under 20 miles, for a good one I will do 250 mile round trip. Regarding Question 6 - How much are you typically willing to pay for 120 minutes of airsoft? Answer nothing, unless I can get actual gameplay of 3+ hours in an evening or 6+ hours for a day then I am not interested in travelling to a site. Regarding Question 8 - Would you consider using airsoft for a team building or party experience? Are you including a private game day/night for airsofters to have a forum meeting? If you are serious about a opening a new site, then it would be worth reading this thread about market research and forum views: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/29709-hertfordshire-potential-new-site-market-research/?hl=hertfordshire And this thread about Whitechapel: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/29856-blitz-cqb-whitechapel-airbourne-airsoft/page-3?hl=heart#entry230894

But that company is in Hong Kong, so probably not fast enough delivery to the UK for the OP.

Personally I would not buy anything from JBBG, read some of the reviews/opinions on the forum. You would be better looking at Military 1st website http://www.military1st.co.uk/combat-gear-holsters/ I have two adjustable Viper holsters for my Mk23 pistol, and they are fine for the money and should last you until you want to replace it. I also have a lanyard attached to my belt so I do not lose the pistol.

From PC - goto your "My Profile" (from the drop down under your username at top of screen), use "Edit My Profile" black button (top right), takes you to "My Settings" page where the coloumn on the left has a button with "signature". This is the signature editor where you add your words and save. Edit: realised I misread your question. you could try putting text between [ quote ] and [/quote ] (need to remove the spaces in the square brackets) @Aengus uses them so he will have the answer of how to add username and date.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Jedi_Master replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I would go by for the yellow as it is brighter; and then add a long ribbon streamer to help find it again. Purple being an imperial colour means less people my have one though. https://jdairsoft.net/uploads/images/medium/6632b85afcba60ba5de454ab06c0ac74.jpg -
Now if they were 8 TM recoil mags then maybe, but it does seem incredible that someone with any knowledge would buy them. Now I just need to dig out some of my spare crap...

At least one bidder (hard to tell with eBay masking usernames) has no feedback so could be a way of bumping up the price.

Not quite on site but a better option than sleeping in a tent: https://www.handpickedhotels.co.uk/rhinefieldhouse or http://www.christchurch-harbour-hotel.co.uk/

If you want a good scope then try VisionKing, many of us recommend them because we use them, either on AEG or GBB. It is within your budget, has clear optics (an important consideration), and enough magnification with adjustment. There are several websites that sell them, I bought mine from eBay for convenience. Example of VisionKing 1.25-5x26 short dot scope - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MLEmart-VisionKing-1-25-5x26-Red-Blue-Dual-Illuminated-Hunting-Scope-/331543514636?hash=item4d31888e0c:g:pOMAAOSw9N1VwJcj 1.25 to 5 is the range of magnification, the size of lens is 26mm. Can also get a 32mm lens for a slightly wider view and higher price.

hello any info on sites around hertfordshire
Jedi_Master replied to poachers's topic in New Players & Arrivals
Welcome The best place to start is having a read of the forum New Player Guides & Information sticky, it is full of very useful info which should answer some of your questions http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/12854-new-player-guides-info/ A quick search has thrown up these 3 sites in Hertfordshire to have a look at: Gunman at Kings Langley http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/29792-gunman-kings-langley-herts-site-open-again-for-2016/?hl=hertfordshire AWA Herts http://www.awaherts.com/#awahertsairsoft Red One Airsoft - The School https://www.red1airsoft.co.uk/game_sites -
The National Airsoft Festival (NAE) http://www.groundzeroairsoft.com/nae/booking/main.php Considering the NAE is being hosted by Zero One, the airsoft shop (and forum) it does make sense that they are arranging something at their Ground Zero site in Hampshire which is local to them.

New member seeking advice, players & events in the midlands
Jedi_Master replied to K12K13's topic in New Players & Arrivals
Welcome . Find a local site, rent a gun and try it out. The sooner you start the better, that way if you want to get site membership and a valid defence for a realistic imitation firearm (RIF) you have not wasted time thinking about it. Best advice would be to read all our sticky posts at the top of each section. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience there. New Player Guides & Info http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/12854-new-player-guides-info/ Beginners Guide to Airsoft http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/3779-the-beginners-guide-to-airsoft/ -

What is this survey for? What purpose?

I only have the remote pressure switch on the 200 lumen light because the other one is a short light which can go on rifle or pistol but has no tailcap fitting http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/G02-600LM-LED-Flashlight-Torch-Tactical-Gun-Pistol-Handgun-Lamp-N7JG-/361104194318?hash=item54137cbb0e

Appears that you had a good time and like many a typical skirmish day at least 3 fail moments which certainly will not be the last time that happens. Just taking the plunge and making the initial effort is so worthwhile and now you have a taste for the hobby it gets easier to go again or try somewhere new. I started out solo but have met and played alongside some great people through this forum, which has meant also trying different sites. Take your hits and have fun

If you like the 1911, then you may want to look at the Elite Shooting Centre who specialise in TM Hi Capa 5.1 (which I believe is based on the 1911). They can do all sorts of modifications for you. http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/ Edit: A more realistic plain black pistol (they used to do full length RIS rails) http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/Gas%20Guns/Gas%20Pistols/Items/5.1%20Hi%20Capa.htm or http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/Gas%20Guns/Gas%20Custom%20Pistols/Items/blk%20inf%20TS.htm

I had two gun mounted tac lights for my last visit to The Mall. One 200 lumen light with tailswitch that I used for navigation in the basement, just a quick flash to check my footing, and then a brighter 600 lumen light with strobe for illuminating a corridor or room. Worked well, using the brighter light when the other team knew where we were, i.e. exchanging shots, or to dazzle when moving. The lumen rating is just base on the two cheap lights I was using. My Fenix PD35 torch has a range of 5 levels between 50 and 950 lumen plus strobe.

Welcome . Read the guides, they have some very useful information and are a good starting point to answer questions.

Is the Facebook ban going to ruin the forum?
Jedi_Master replied to ImTriggerHappy's topic in General Discussion
Once I work out how to take a decent self portrait with my SLR camera, due to lens shake when my arms are outstretched, have sent off the 35mm film to get it developed by Kodak, then selected the best 6x4 photograph, I will need some advice on how to scan it into my computer and attach it to a post. Maybe that is why we never took selfies... much better to snap other people, and there were some great polaroids in magazines -
There was a good review of Bush Valley http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/27123-bushvalley-airsoft/?hl=valley It would be worth a quick review of your experience there. After playing my first woodland site I ordered a VisionKing scope; they are a good price, recommended by other members, have clear optics for the price, and enough magnification for spotting targets.

Question/Advise weapon of choice?
Jedi_Master replied to CallsignPredator's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I would advise you to buy the best quality gun that you can afford, so that it plays well straight from the box with no modifications required. That way you can go to a skirmish on a more equal footing rather than buy a gun of less quality and then have to keep spending money to fix/upgrade it. Then if you really want to modify it you can at a later date. Start with a conventional AEG, you can still dress like a bush but with the flexibility to get stuck in up close, or play a CQB site, without the Minimum Engagement Distace penalty of a DMR or sniper rifle. Play your 3 games to get site membership and a valid defence. While you are waiting to get your defence do some research and think about what guns you like and narrow down your options so that after the 2 months you are prepared. Do not bother with a two-tone but buy a RIF, and register with UKARA if you want to. -
^^ so that is about £334 total on invoice.
