Yeah that's fine gifting a RIF but remember the person gifting it to you has to have Ukara or some form of defence to be able to buy a RIF.

Yes this is fine. You dont need to be over 18 to own a rif you just need to be over 18 to buy one. If its gifted thats totally legal. The only time the police would search you is if you were waving it around in public.
If you do that then whether you have a defence or not its being deatroyed and your being arrested.

Hm. And this is why a shop should be really careful with choosing who represents it in public.

May I also add that not at a single point up until now did I ever critisise your character - just the product that you were - by extension - selling. A simple answer could really have saved you all this trouble.

How charming. You are aware that Hef is making reference to the fact that UK law dictates no one under the age of 18 may own nor purchase any airsoft gun - 2-tone or otherwise, right?
You're the sort of person that could get this banned for all of us and yet you're stooped in ignorance to the point that you'd call him the 'asshole'.

Good post. Luka, no one is trying to unfairly deny you the pleasures of going out and buying your own gun, but you must understand what a legal knifedge this hobby sits on, and how careful we must be to ensure its longevity for all.

Every time someone goes out and bends the rules we open ourselves up to losing a very enjoyable past-time, and we certainly wouldn't be the first country to have so. As I said before, most rental equipment is going to be as good - if not better- than anything you could afford to buy right now, so it's not too bad.

Get out and play first. The rest will fall into place.

Proffrink, if you had read the earlier messages, I'm getting an adult/relative to get a ukara and then gift me the gun

I'm thinking it's illegal for you to buy one if you're under 18.

A few steps to buying your first gun:
Choose a few guns you like the look of If you see anyone with one of those guns at a skirmish, ask them if you can handle or have a go with it. Most people will be more than happy to show their weapons off. After deciding on a type of gun you want, look around on retailer's sites for the manufacturers who make that type of gun- there can be multiple manufacturers who do this, there are great multitudes who produce M4s, G36s, AKs and the like Ask what manufacturer is best for the model of gun you're looking at. Some manufacturers are good for some models of gun and bad for others The most money you'll be looking to spend on your first gun is around £130 or more RRP.

Many of the 6 shots can be switched on the fly between 3 and 6. Of course, you'll probably save money avoiding it. But I don't think any of them are locked at 6.

The breacher gets about 60 shots out of the gas tank which is in the handle, the full length TM M870 has a larger tank in the stock which gets about 100 shots out of it. I thought 6 shot would be amazing, it isn't it just fires a second shot directly behind the first rather than giving any more spread.

Some people buy tons of shells(the TM ones are 15 quid for 3) and extra gas tanks, i'd rather take a bottle of gas and a speedloader out with me. It'd probably be worth doing if I played CQB more though, I just run one of the angry gun shell holders which is mounted to the side of the receiver.

You're a new player, it's not unreasonable to think that you might not know how specific guns work. (And judging by your above post it looks like i'm right- not many shotguns have a function to change the number of rounds fired, it's pretty much just the TM m870, and possibly a couple of others).
    Calm yourself.

I'm just saying the term DMR, is a bit lose regarding airsoft for the above reasons.

And to be honest you don't seem stupid, you probably already know whT you're going to do.

But the premise is simple, polarstar powered rifle, 400fps and locked. Job done

Just make sure you get vn mags and at least a x4 scope so no one mistakes you for someone who isn't totally awesome.

So it has been brought to my attention that their are a number of people which believe that I am now a Dishonest member of the airsoft community and UKARA but the steps taken were no different to what an investigative journalist would do. Also a quote has been made to me which I will put to the public and them to make their own minds up.

They have blocked people for calling them out on data issues like this. Instead of addressing things properly they make up a half arsed, poorly written excuse, with made up statistics, that will tide over the majority of people, and block all the people who won't let it slide.

I personally have no issues with selling RIFs to anyone at all. If they act like a dick with it, so what? They'd have only bought it from someone else anyway, or bought a two tone and painted it, or bought an air gun. Then they'll be let off anyway because there's a million and one loop holes they could've obtained a RIF through anyway.

It is the principle of a defence that I stand by and that stops me from just becoming an underground black market gun launderer for the non-defence holding masses. The need for a defence is an utter waste of everyone's time and effort.

But BAC are shitting on that principle by pretending they have all these things in place to legitimise it, when they clearly do not. If they did, then they wouldn't have had to make up those percentages they stated.

At the Mall the mood was getting quite horrible and the organisers got us all together and gave us a good talking to. The key point was that in all the big fancy gear it was easy to miss the fact we had actually been hit, especially when moving when you can't hear the impacts over the other noise. They made the point how often do you call a hit in the area of your chest rig verses the rest of you, and I realised how many hits I must have not taken in the past. Its odd how you mostly get hit around your rig but rarely on it especially when moving? Even odder for when its the centre of your chest no?!

Made me think. Its one of the other big reasons I don't use a plate carrier and why these days I use an african assault vest. it all sits on the sides and rear and it dramatically improves the chance of me feeling a hit. I wish more people had been at that talk and felt like I felt about the very likely situation that you had been hit and not noticed because of all your gear. I care so much about it I now wear a very different loadout and I wish others would as well.

Losing an eye is not a physics problem

And I want the data to figure out just how much difference joule creep can make to muzzle energy, and see just how likely it is that guns can be made to shoot hot by changing ammo, and if the effect is very consistent or if properties of the gun (bore, length, type of barrel for example) make joule creep more or less significant

There are two ways to figure out how joule creep affects muzzle energy. You are right. It is technically possible to do it with some calculations and a detailed understanding of hydraulics, gas physics and mechanics, but I don't have that understanding.

The other way is to get a load of guns and a load of ammo and test Them, and since I can't afford dozens of guns, I thought the people here could lend a hand.

Kind of reminds me of the Aperture Science way of doing things: don't botger with the Complex maths and research, just get your hands dirty and figure it out like a real man
