It's a valid point but I always found that ghillie suits are a pain in the arse to move around in undergrowth so unless you have a role that suits being stationary for a while (like being a sniper) they're probably not worth the hassle.

You Sir are doing it the right way.
 
I did the transition slowly. My AEG is sub 350 but can't shoot in full auto. It's not intentional, it just doesn't feed and because I never needed it, I don't fix it. But it's very-very accurate compared to the AEGs people use. Sniping with that is easy. Sometimes the noise gives away my position but the firepower compensates for that. So if the game style is not very suitable for my bolties I use that with sniper mentality.
I also made a ghillied hat that covered my shoulders too, but since I switched to leaf suit, I never looked back. Leaf suit is just awesome. I got mine from aliexpress for cheap. Get a green one for the UK. They only had brown-green when I ordered and I spray painted it more green. You can attach loops on it with glue gun to add natural vegetation or jute.
 
I prefer to use my sub 350 boltie. No MED is great and it's very silent. But if there are bigger open spaces I bring the meaner one.
 
Sniping is not about the gun. It's a playstyle. Yes, it's done best with a bolt action rifle but 90% of it can be learned with an AEG too.

Ok so before I start I want to establish that no I am not new to airsoft and no I'm not 14 and no I haven't just finished watching American sniper. So on to what I'm here for. I'm really liking the idea of sniper gameplay. it seems to suit my style of hanging back a little to see what happens and always trying to out think enemies. I don't want to just jump right in and buy a sniper rifle a gillie suit and hate it after a game or 2 so my question is, has anyone made this transition slowly? My AEG is a dmr style rifle but staying under 350 as a normal AEG, today I was at a surplus and bought some scrim net and a new hat and 1 bored hour later id stitched a pretty usable gillie hood, so the plan is next game get down and dirty and start hunting with my AEG and see what results I get and how I like it with always the opportunity of pulling the hood off and going full auto. Many of you tried this play style? Just looking for a little feed back.

No Mr monkey nuts it was to increase the atmosphere as a lone zombie was hunting around the bunker in near pitch black so having little foam ear defenders in made it more harder to hear him sneak up on you before squeezing two rounds into the chest to get 10seconds grace ,it was intense as when there are around 12 zombies and 2 insurgents it scared the the crap out of you.

So Iv been looking at the umarex mp7 aeg as it's only 110 quid on airsoft world.net and 6 100rd mags are 44 quid. That's a whole loadout for 155 quid and I love the mp7. However it's only stated as having 240fps and I'm not sure how that's going to fair as I haven't used a gun that low before. It's for indoor cqb 50 foot max engagement at the most (maybe less). Any experience with this gun and would you recommend?

Got a little busy this afternoon with my Firehawk and SAS-12.
 
I've always liked the whole "post apoc" and battered feeling! I'm looking to add a few bits, maybe some rope/tape. Maybe give them a steampunk feel!
 
I've only ever painted a one coat on RiF's... Thought I'd get the paint brush and sponge out and paint away! Also have this "post apoc" looking chair in the garden so thought I'd use that to stage them on

It looks just as big (Maybe bigger) than Bunker 51 but it looks more open and without the choke points. The buildings will add a different dimension to the game play here compared to B51. Very much looking forward to this. When they release an opening/first skirmish date, anyone fancy forming an AF-UK team?

When painting guns I just put screwed up newspaper in the magwell and the end of the barrel and crack on. The gearbox is pretty well sealed up and the hop unit can't get paint inside it if you seal the magwell and barrel.
 
Complete disassembly and taking gearboxes out etc is massive overkill.

But that doesn't automatically exempt the site operators from any sort of liability.
 
For instance; the site (probably) won't be liable for a player sustaining an injury from a bb, but they will be liable for a play sustaining an injury from say part of the safe zone collapsing or a player sustains an injury from unsafe structures.
 
Yes, there are risks in this sport, but there are risks in other sports and organisers will have to have public liability insurance. A quick Google search for 'paintball public liability insurance' brings up lots of insurers that are willing to offer public liability for paintball as well as airsoft.
 
I think site operators might be getting confused with the classification as a 'extreme' sport. Lots of personal injury insurances don't cover in the even of an injury sustained during an extreme sport, but companies do offer personal injury insurance for such occasions. This does not mean that a site operator doesn't need public liability insurance as a minimum (as there are lots of other insurance products that a site may need).

Best bet for a metal slide pistol is going to be one the WE gas blowback variants, they have a fair few to choose from.

A lot of hostility to the term "kills"

Im still new enough to it all just be buzzing with adrenaline about the fact im in a firefight. I dont care who dies me or them lol.

I only track them if I'm on a roll (which is rare). Highest I reached was 9 at The Gaol (six of which were knife kills, the other three shotgun kills). I somehow on my own managed to flank a good portion of the other team who must have mistook me for being on their side.
 
But usually I don't keep it in mind - too busy having fun shooting and being shot back.

In game I don't call them kills, it's whatever creative words flow at the time. I hit that guy or got him or snagged him or w,e. Just thought kill/death leaves no room for confusion for readers. Imagine gots/got got/ lol

Nope I've never counted either and I tend to call them hits. Could ruin the day if I counted as I'd realise how crap I am.

Seems like a good amount of no's.. Glad I'm not the only one.

I get more satisfaction from the kills I do get and the way I got it either sneaking up or outsmarting the enemy in an even gunfight more than the sheer numbers which I'm sure will get better as I improve I just wasn't sure if it's how other people track or rate their success. I thought opinions might be mixed.
