The point is measuring in joules compared to fps is no different. If a gun reads high in joules on a chrono it will read high in fps as well. Joule creep is impossible to police unless every player tests on the ammo they use and is honest, which they wont be and no site has time to weigh and adjust chrono each time. Also most sites use cheap chronos which give wildly different results compared to a decent calibrated chrono so people will regularly fire over but get low results and vice versa. Using heavier ammo to test won't stop it as some guns struggle to feed and hop heavy ammo and this can lead to them firing ridiculously low on heavy ammo as it doesn't seat properly with a bad feed. But stick in 0.2s or 0.25s and they can be hot. Joule creep is not as common as people seem to think and it's effects are rarely of much significance. The normal way of testing on 0.2s has been fine for years and I am yet to see anyone get severely injured from being shot with a hot gun. So why people need to cause so much of a fuss about it in the last few years is beyond me. Actually it doesn't suprise me as we have created a society that has nothing better to do than build mountains out of mole hills.

Easiest way for any site is to test using their own bbs and run one standard weight. When working a chrono and trying to rush players through all the faff of different weights is just to much hassle. Testing in fps is no different to joules and people like to make some big issue out of something that isn't. No marshall will spot an overhopped gun on chrono as they are looking at the reading not flight path. If players will want to cheat they will changing gas on gbb is the easiest and impossible to police. I wouldn't worry about safety either as I used to play cqb games running over 500fps and had nothing, but a springer tri shot doing about 280 fractured my finger so it is just luck of the draw. So a few fps difference with joule creep will not add much if anything to the pain or safety of it.

I bow down to your expertise it is not like I have made a decent living out of this sort of stuff for the last 28yrs.

Decent screw extractors would be fine but it would need heating up first as there is probably a too strong threadlock involved in this problem. Cutting slots is quite often a recipe for disaster and makes me cringe every time I hear it mentioned as quite often that will just tear as well. Easiest option is to heat the screw with a soldering iron then tap it round with a punch or flat bladed screw driver. As long as you are gentle this always works. Then buy some Wera Hex Plus keys and stop it happening again as this is often caused by people using poorly made allen keys that they bought from amazon or halfords.

Worth setting full auto to 2/3rd burst then so you still have the snappiness without it being able to be used wrongly.

I think he means that anybody getting hosed by that on full auto is going to be a bit pissed off. Site legal is one thing but taking 15 hits when one or two will do will annoy some people to the point words will be had.

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread
ImTriggerHappy replied to Mack's topic in General Discussion
No because some of the most fucked up guns I have ever had to sort were put that way by so called reputable shops/techs. There are very few people out there who actually do good work as most techs just change parts without ever really understanding just because part a and part b are good that they don't actually work well together. Most guns that are built require a certain amount of matching parts and then fine tuning of those parts to get the results and reliability to be what I would call an upgrade. There is a reason that all my personal aegs have the gearbox shells made not bought off a shelf to match the build. -
If you want to do the training because you will enjoy the experience then go ahead but if you expect it to improve your game you will just waste money to be honest. In my experience people who try the real world room clearance stuff are actually at a disadvantage as the steady controlled aspect does not suit airsoft at all. Real world stuff is based on the fact of tension and the fear of death or taking a life so they expect some hesitation. But when facing 16yr olds hopped up on monster it becomes about reactions and you will get rinsed. Airsoft room clearance and cqb is a war of attrition where it is about fast movement and faster reactions. Clearing a room is about going in fast probably dying but hoping to take someone with you and lessening the bodies in the room or even better just chucking grenades in. Without grenades a couple of good players can hold a room against overwhelming numbers for a very lengthy amount of time. I have seen so many players and teams try the whole tactical bit and inevitably they get rinsed and generally get upset and most often are the biggest arses on site.

Looking for some Lipo charger buying direction
ImTriggerHappy replied to TommoThomson's topic in General Help
My problem with turnigy is everything is just a rebrand and while some things are ok others really aren't and when it comes to chargers I am always cautious. I use the skyrc t200 as need to charge 6s but did have the t100 for awhile and it is a brilliant dual charger for under £45. -

Best charger without spending silly money is probably one of these. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/skyrc-t100-battery-charger-444856 -
Partly generational as I am a bit older at 45 but I would say in my case it is more based on societal. As I said I grew in Bham surrounded by all cultures so my friend group was always very varied and that meant racial jokes were the norm and still are. There was never any real racism though it was just banter and no one got offended, my mates dad who was from Trinidad was an encyclopedia of white boy jokes and gave me hell for years and it was hilarious. So I suppose I am more thick skinned about it all, especially growing up on a council estate where giving each other shit was like a tradition. Also I see stuff from my friends points of view and quite a few black friends have said that their blackness feels like it is more of an issue now than ever with all the constant talk. I actually had a friend walk out of a job because he said the diversity there felt like stealth racism and he needs nothing handing to him because of some racial pandering. Racism comes in many forms and the only way to beat it is just treat people as people and lets stop looking for issues as that just keeps things alive.
-
No it is a bit stupid but not racism, mocking accents and appearances is just part of the usual man banter bullshit. I class racism as anything that is about dragging others down and treating them like they are less than you. While we can all do that to individuals who irk us doing it to a race based on some bullshit like skin colour or cultural differences that people probably don't even understand is just pathetic. As for someone telling you to go kill yourself I didn't see it and if I had my response would have been harsher than yours as that is crossing a line.
-
Never seen any real racism on here so don't know where you are going with that statement. Druids joke is about as bad as I have ever seen and while I don't think it is really necessary or funny I wouldn't scream racism. I do agree that what goes on between friends is different to how you deal with general public but at the same time people have taken the sjw bit to an absurd level lately. Seems like the only one who is really making generalisations and attacking anybody is you.
-
Bloody hell the I'm offended mob are everywhere. Funny thing is the ones who always seem most offended are those that live insular lives where they barely know anyone of different race. I grew up Birmingham during the 80s/90s and saw some real racism but funnily enough all the older people who actually experienced it just laugh it off and find all the shit going on now as farcial. The younger generation who have never had it as bad seem to be the ones who shout loudest, especially the white self righteous ones. While racism is bad people need to realise that what ever race experiences it is quite capable of standing up for themselves and don’t need someone who has never lived it trying to fight their battles for them.

The one thing you need to think about is your play style as while everyone here just shouts get a TM that might not be what is best. The correct ergonomics and weight can make the biggest difference to your day and to my mind trump everything as I can still do well with a gun that shoots like shit but is comfortable in the hand but not the other way. From arm length to hand to speed and agility of player all are things to consider. Take the glock mentioned above they are great performing pistols but for my hands they are not a good fit and that drops my accuracy especially at speed by half at least. Look at everything and imagine holding it all day, is the grip good does the trigger and guard suit your fingers, safety switch and mag release are they right. All that effects your day as comfort trumps everything.

Yep it would go from small news story to major headline and do gooders marching with placards if there was a fatal incident, cops did good.

Erm wasn't you going by the name Sboardley yesterday when you were trying to ruin his swaps post and l pointed out you were acting like a twat? Now you are using a misspelt version of my forum name? what sort of weird shit is that?

Or get one with a good body because you will still say in bed but get plenty of exercise.

I reckon this will be a common situation for a lot of people as the covid situation calms down. After over a year of less rushing around to do stuff and just concentrating on the core part of life I think lots of us have become apathetic to all the stuff we surrounded ourselves with before. I was an anti social bastard before but I have even less will to go out and put up with life's bullshit now. Kind of realised all the rushing blurred the rest of life too much and I am enjoying concentrating on the important bits again like family and sleep. I would guess for most the laziness will wear off but some will stick with the comfy insular slower pace as they will have learnt to enjoy actually stopping for 5 minutes.

Reading through the thread I can't see anywhere you have been like that and I am an expert on being offensive and confrontational. So if anyone is offended then fuck them and their precious souls.

Standard 144a is okay but can be too weak on a gun that is binding somewhere and can cause issues with the slide. Maintenance is full of lube and is not really designed for actual firing. Nuprol 2.0 would be fine and is ok in all but the really old tm pistols. Most times people claim that standard green gas knackered their guns they leave out the half a dozen times they dropped it which weakened something in the first place.
-
Actually most airsofters and even techs will offer advice and more, I have done hundreds of hours of free work to help people out because that is the way the community is for the most part. The general camaraderie in the community is second to none. Most techs will inwardly groan and back away once they hear the issue is because you messed with it without having a clue and fucked it up though. Generosity only goes so far and while helping the unfortunate is good for karma helping those who brought in on themselves is another form of karma. Don't use maintenance gas for anything other than maintenance and dry firing is fine.

This sort of holster is pretty good if yours doesn't work out. Retention but able to pull very quickly when needed. https://ukmcpro.co.uk/products/imi-defense-polymer-retention-paddle-holster-level-2
