Punisher Logo, Acceptable to use?
Colonel Kurtz replied to Mr Monkey Nuts's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps he's telling the truth, just not enough detail. If you were kicked out of the cadets after being caught by a thermal-camera peeping into the girls showers it'd be very 'hush-hush' i imagine! -
If they mock you for looking like a noobish-kid, you can dine on the sweet taste of their tears when you kick their ass and they're the ones walking back to the spawn-point That's the great thing about airsoft, can always just shoot them.

Hehe agreed, thread derailed enough. I applied for MI6 a year or two ago when they had a public online recruitment campaign looking for coders. I either didn't get in, or won't remember getting in until someone phones me with the correct code-word -

Hehe i think you're right, and there is some 'vet-sense'. Perhaps it's because i airsoft on my own (easy target for wandering bullshit standing around solo) and I appear too obviously not anyone who'd know better, as I've had all sorts of people being dubiously pro-active about mentioning their service in the armed forces! I'd say every single time i've played airsoft, with maybe one exception when i was very tired and didn't talk to anyone really. I'm not counting all the people who've mentioned it that i'd believe, just the wierdo types who appear to not have the physical capability and i'd really hope no-one had let them near real weapons. Agreed i guess it's not really a problem, and you'll get such behaviour in all walks of life. I'm just curious about why it's so specific in airsoft, never had anyone go on about how they used to do professional shooting competitions or anything else that could be considered relevant to airsoft-kudos, easiest option and hardest for anyone not in the know to disprove i guess? -

Yeah I think that military experience definately always going to help someones ability at airsoft, especially with team-play. Just seems like there needs to be some other kind of airsoft badge of honor, or the Whitmans will keep on claiming they served. In Japan (arguably the founders of modern airsoft) youre more likely to encouter someone dressed as Iron Man than in DEVGRU. I doubt they're any less competitive, so I wonder what makes the difference? My guess is perhaps airsoft is more of a society, and airsoft teams have more kudos/acknowledement? I haven't heard/read any mentions about specific airsoft teams being legendarily badass in the UK (maybe its classified and i dont have clearance), so rather than being able to say 'I'm in this team, which as you know is badass' people have to say 'I'm in this team' - 'Who?' - 'We're a team from x, and two of us used to be in a particular unit in the army' -

Airsoft is a strange one as so many people seem to give airsoft kudos to being/having been in the military. I suppose airsoft can easily be considered somekind of simulated soldiering, and therefore being in the military should instantly make you a badass at it. Also I guess lot's of people whoove been in the military play airsoft as still gives a taste, and they're admired for their backgroung, and then copied by the Walts who want the same regards. I think if you combine that ethos with there being no national ranking/scoring system for empiracally telling how good at the game you are, it's an easy one to claim, to make you look more badass/dedicated to the game. This is part of the reason i have a sci-fi looking gun, and no camo-gear, as i want to distance myself from this military kudos. I would be a terrible soldier, I'd only have to vaporise a few innocent villagers, or members of the Taliban trained by Rambo and i'd go heart-of-darkness bonkers. I do however do quite well at airsoft, being a spritly young-ish lad and having done much laser-quest/paint-ball and CoDish computer games I find myself well matched if not outclassing the middleaged Walting gentleman proclaiming their military background as an instant verification of them kicking ass at airsoft. -
2nd lozarts suggestion, as most the decent pc games are 50gb-ish in size, i'd recommend getting a 256gb SSD, then you'll have enough room on it for windows and your current favourite handful of games. 128 is just about do-able but it'll be room for like 1 game. seperating the program files onto another HD will largely remove the gaming benefit of having windows on a SSD.

Agreed, the garrand sounded cool until i looked at the pics and saw the gold/brass and decided it just looks like it should be mounted above Colonel Sanders fireplace. Gotta be 500 rednecks in the US who'll buy them, cant see anyone here buying one. I've got an ICS TransforM4, which is the first new ICS rifle in this current series and same internals as what most these latest ones have. It's pretty damn good for a £200 rifle, as good as you can get i'd say. No complaints on performance or build-quality. The EBB is a joke though. I didn't even realise it had it or what it supposedly did until someone else pointed out the sticker. I'd say it'll aid someone deaf knowing they've fired the gun and that's bout it. I can see ICS perhaps giving companies like G&G, JG a good run for their money, they certainly deserve to as these latest rifles are v good quality for the cost. But they'll never scratch on the premium brands like TM Their issue in doing this will prob be that they don't have enough 'real-steal' externals, and people will rather buy the real-steel look rather than go for the better internals. e.g. the 'transforM4' looks quite M4, but isnt and has slightly different dimensions (bout cm longer receiver)

Is it significant effort to setup or a drain of resources to have it anyways? Can't hurt right?
-
That must have felt proper freaky! Yeah must be something like that, I'm just happy the mask took it without breaking/cracking in any manner and nothing ended up in my eye!
-
Can even be unlucky with good stuff, I've got a TM mask (fanboi lol) and this sunday somehow a BB managed to get inside my mask when i got sprayed in the face at close-range, no idea how! Start walking back to the spawn a feel a rattle, i assumed abit of mask had broken off inside it of so got a marshall to escort me back to the safe-zone to verify the state of the mask and find it's a BB, and absolutely no damage to the mask!!! There's only a couple tiny vents in near the nose and they aren't wide enough for a BB, there's no gaps around the edges when wearing it so gawd knows how it got there!

http://www.airsoftsniperforum.com/43-longrange-aegs/892-holy-grail-building-your-dmr-aeg.html Best introductory guide i found. But yes you can make any rifle a DMR, only difference is how much you need to replace. You'll want one that can support a long barrel well rather than ending up with a foot long silencer, or can just end up looking silly and easy to snap if dropped. But it' not an easy task, and one that many just seemingly use as an excuse to buy every aftermarket part they can find for their AEG. I play at Absolute Airsoft occasionally and pretty much half the guys there have what they claim to be a 'DMR' so guessing you've been chatting with them lol. Out of the ones i looked at I'd only count a couple as anything more than a pimped aeg with harder spring.

you trying to make this game for PC or mobile?

I'd consider it an all or nothing affair, either it's not appropriate to wear anything genuine military out of 'respect' for the reality of it, or whatever the hell you like. You could take that to an extreme and say it's not appropriate for any of us to use RIF for the same reasons. Worse case scenario is you end up having to put up with someone giving you a vietnam-vet-ish rant about 'you weren't there man'. Hopefuly their 1000yard stare will make it easy to duck out of the conversation. -
I guess it'd meen the mods would have to watch them all to make sure nothing sordid? As long as it's all youtube lilnks and nothing uploaded directly can't see any issues. Perhaps simply hasn't been enough people with go-pro's until recent years to merit setting up this forum section in the past.

UKIP get a bad rap because it's a party that has been born out of thug-ish racist groups like the BNP. Also, the people running the show keep on getting filmed/recorded drinking too much and enjoying some casual racism with the rich tycoon types they're trying to solicit financial support from. They essentially go round finding all these racist rich old bastards who think conservatives have gone soft and try get them to back their cause instead. Exactly how the Nazi's turned themself into a legitimate political party (I blame Hugo Boss for WW2) and everyone loves to make the nazi association to anyone far right wing so it's always a fun rant to have against them. The important thing is UKIP exists because they have enough support of the elite and the people, the no. votes will determine how much. As for the Labour and Conservatives running the media??? It's all run by Rupert Murdock, so blame him for any bias and selective targeting of (types of) people. It's celebs job to be in the media, so they don't bother spending lots of money on court injunctions to stop stuff being talked about in the media, and they dont work for or aren't any of Murdock's mates. You've got it the wrong way around; no political party controls the press, one powerful family control the press, and the press control which political party gets the best image in the media, and therfore power.

I had similar issue with an ICS the advice i was given is that alot/most such mis-feed issues are caused by the hob rubber being squashed into an elipse, which is often caused by the barrel getting pushed in abit during use, or not enough grease/oil used when putting the hopup together (as well as the hopup rubber perishing ofc) For me this was indeed the case as i'd swapped the inner barrel but not used any grease/oil and the hob rubber had gotten squashed in my first noob-ish attempts. if replacing the hop improved it a fair bit, i'd guess this could be it and you just need to try re-assembling it more carefully?

AUG Upgrade Suggestions / Known Issues

ah well lol, stand corrected, might need a few more bits to make the 13:1 gears work to their full potential though; bearings, cylinder, high speed motor etc -
AUG Upgrade Suggestions / Known Issues
Colonel Kurtz replied to Airsoft_Mr B's topic in General Help
509mm barrel for an AUG seems pretty excessive, doubt it's got the cylinder volume to accomodate that. Other than that looks like a pretty good recipe, i'd prob still rather spend another £100 and not go JG though. -
i've heard the CQB site can be a good laugh. is has 7-8 levels and only criticism i've heard was there's not too many different game scenarios they can sucesfully spread over all these floors

yeah a significant % of people are in a 'squad' of somekind, most the forums are abit outdated in terms of their listings of what squads are out there, best way is to see who turns up to the sites you go to, they'll be easy to spot as prob all dressed the same, or at the very least with have their squad insignia patches on. then like any clan/club it's about picking one with people you get on with and who dont have any dildo related initiation ceremonies

lazy hop-up tactics for me, increase the amount of hop until it starts curving upwards, then decrease slightly until it seems to stop. for zeroing a sight, i have a b&d work bench, so take that into the garden, put a towel over it and clamp the gun in place, ensuring it's totally upright and not leaning. Then setup a target and fire a load of shots at it. I'll then try and adjust the left/right on the scope so it's pointing in the middle of the cluster. If the vertical axis is massively off i'll usually try set it so its abit higher than where i've hit on the target as my garden is about half the length you'd consider using a scope to hit someone at, but most the time i don't bother. For my air-rifle i'd repeat this process a few times to get it perfect, for airsoft, they aint accurate enough to merit too much trouble
