  1. No P90? T-Rex arms? It's a short gun but still longer than MP5 and various others suggested? So must be an aesthetics thing, in which case kiss my Stargate ass mr moderator sir
  2. P90 powa! Most comfortable gun for CQB I've ever used and I've tried 4 other guns for CQB lol If you can use full-auto at the CQB site your going to and have another £100 then yet again I'll recommend the Tokyo Marui high cycle version (fooking love those guns, and own 2). You mention planning to upgrade speed on whatever you get, so unless the joy of tinkering/upgrading is half the fun then this out the box 25 rps might be easier option. TM also do various other HC versions, such as MP5, AUG, A3
  3. If you've got an airsoft shop nearby you can walk into just get the stock you like and see if it fits, if your ordering via post then might as well get the tube too as p&p costs of finding out you need the tube and ordering separately will be similar cost of the tube itself I found a JG & TM stocks didn't quite fit on a G&G tube as G&G was slightly thicker. The stock went on but was very stiff to move (giggity) and it didn't lock in position very well Always worth keeping an eye on the classified ads on this site as often stuff like stocks go for a few quid and there's a lot of G&G out there.
  4. I agree with the above, just paint it with Halfords camo paint and don't try to rob anyone or shoot in down your local public woods/park. Although paint is about a tenner a can and 20% of the guns cost might seem excessive lol. B500A1 is a cheap built BB gun, but as long as it still fires a BB in the vague direction you point the gun in you have same chance as everyone else, just little bit less range/accuracy due to low power and cheaply made hop-up unit. Agree that for CQB makes no difference wtf you use, for woodland just might need to get a little closer and use full-auto more. Always fun to see people dish out some kills with these things, they should have a maximum inflicted shame limit as well as FPS at airsoft sites If the difference between a BB gun like this and an airsoft RIF is getting owned or not then stop being a pussy hiding behind a tree as far away from the opp as you can and get stuck in
  5. He might have been intending to do all the maintenance; aoe correction etc before shipping but sounds like you got placed in the 'noob who won't know better' category second you asked for 2-tone and just wrapped up and sent out! Poor show, but at least you got something, seen worse scams! Can kind of see some the scratches in his original pic but that's about it for excuse from the list of things wrong with it you've found!
  6. My favourite acts of muppetry are; - Swapped the battery at lunch, or at least I removed the battery and left the replacement on top my kit. One the rare times didn't fire a few test shots while heading to the briefing and didn't realise until jumping round a corner to ambush a room full of people from behind (had taken 5 minutes of ninja sneaking to get there). If I hadn't said 'ahh f**k' then they prob wouldn't have noticed me, turned round and given me a peppering. - Had a marshal pause the game in our immediate area to force some opp team people to take hits from a pyro the other side of a doorway. While he was doing this I was rummaging in my pockets for speed loader and managed to pull the pin on my timed bfg. It went off in my pocket 'killing' myself and all my teammates waiting to charge through the door about a second after the marshal restarted the game. - Shot myself in the leg while standing around. Didn't managed to dodge the big push and still had to serve my time in the trenches. My favourite ones witnessed; - Guy jumps round a corner and unloads his pistol at me, I fire back hitting him, having not felt anything hit myself. Dude gets a bit angry as he's certain he shot me, and first. The marshal watching said he had only seen gas come out of the pistol. Guy checks the mag and realises he hasn't loaded it with bb, so laughs, takes the hit and reloads the pistol with another mag. Chatting to him during the break it turns out he hadn't loaded any of his pistol mags with bb's, or checked the one he reloaded with and had managed to repeat the incident after re-spawning. - A sniper had complained about a particular character not taking hits, was suggested it was the vest and all the gear he was wearing rather than deliberate cheating. So after bit of an emotional discussion with the marshal he removes it all and plays the next games with no top on. Went well and satisfied the complainer who managed to hit him and it be acknowledged, unfortunately for him he managed to trip over into a bush full of nettles, which turns out he had a mild allergy to and went off to hospital with his whole torso swollen and red. - A first time rental player asked the marshal how he adjusted the direction bb's coming out of the gun went and was told to point it at the bad-guys and press the trigger. Turns out he'd seen someone adjust their hop-up and gotten confused by their explanation but still very funny to hear.
  7. Anyone you'd give you attitude for taking pics has probably seen too many pictures of SAS guys from the 80's with their faces black-boxed out! As long as people are informed it's happening shouldn't get any hassle. I think it's all good, and most people will appreciate action footage of them that isn't from a shaky go-pro video!
  8. From my experience of JG this is rubberised car-dashboard spray-paint on top of standard plastic, you'll want to remove this layer first with fine grade sandpaper (you'll need to buy a roll of it as the rubber ruins a sheet of sandpaper pretty quickly. I used a one grade of sandpaper to start, then a finer grade to smooth it all out once the majority removed). Putting paint straight on top of this rubber layer will cause the rubber to perish and come off, looking pretty shoddy. Not sure what homebase/b&q sell, but Halfords sell 'camo' paint that's very good. Best bet would be ordering some Krylon Fusion paint @ about £7 a can from someone like Firesupport. Give it thin coats and then leave it to dry for a week, (will be dry to touch after hour or two but not properly set for a week so don't use/touch it until that's passed for best results) This will all be best done by taking the whole gun apart so you have just the stock
  9. Most sites will only have one type of gun, but perhaps you'll have a friendly site of over-armed people willing to let you try out their guns for a game. On exposed skin you'll probably get a little blood blister and swelling/bruising like paintball at close range. With a layer of clothing you should only get a small red mark that'll fade within a week. For reducing the impact/pain I've found artificial fibres do better than cotton; density more effective than thickness of material. I have a light/thin layer waterproof jacket and that manages to prevent bb hits hurting at all whereas a thick jumper still stings. I started off in jeans and a hoody and that did me fine, one thing you definitely want to get are gloves, either leather or ones with rubber/plastic shielding on the fingers. Nothing hurts more than a bb to the knuckle and very easy to split/fracture knuckles, and it's amazing how often get hit on the hands. As for all the rigs/vests/pouches etc, I've found a belt with a couple mag pouches is plenty fit for purpose, and find a rig/vest cumbersome.
  10. Don't be in a rush to get a gun, especially if you want to only buy once. Most people rush and then a few months later once they've got a feel for the game and established their preferences they end up buying another one, and the first sits mostly unused, or sold at a significant loss. Owning one is at least half the fun, but it'll be worth the 2month wait and using a hire gun 3 times to be able to buy whatever you want from whoever. During that time hopefully you'll get a feel for all the different types of gun and perhaps end up being the first person ever to buy one gun and stick with it. There's 3 genres of airsoft game (woodland, cqb and mislim) and types of airsoft gun (electric, spring, gas), and that's before you even start to think about style, size etc. You won't know what type of airsoft game you prefer until you try it and different types/styles of gun are suited to different ones. E.G You might prefer normal woodland games, and need a rifle rather than pistol, submachine gun etc You might prefer CQB and find it best to have pistols, submachine gun, or shotgun rather than a rifle You might go full conscript and get into milsim and want a rifle that's as close to it's real firearm counterpart as possible and all the military uniform to match I tried to be patient and bought a decent length m4 style rifle after going to a woodland site half a dozen times. But now it sits in a box because I prefer CQB
  11. Should take G&P or TM midcap AK mags, well that's what Evike says on the product description anyways, you not had any luck with them?
  12. use hire guns until you get ukara, then any gun made by Tokyo Marui will fill the 'buy once and good'
  13. For outdoors i go for a pair of Karimoor, lightweight, waterproof, comfortable , good grip and nice and cheap from places like Sports Direct. If you're not bothered about having military boots then i'd go for a pair of these. Indoors just a pair of airwalks lol
  14. one my first guns was an ICS TransforM4, has been superb, good build quality, done the job perfectly. i personally would rather have an ICS than G&G
  15. I usually buy UK as airsoft is generally bit of an impulse buy for me and cba to wait weeks for things to come from abroad. The 3 AEG i own i took my time in choosing and looked abroad before purchasing, but after courier and customs there wasn't enough saving to merit the hassle. Usually use Firesupport for all the little gun parts and either same or Zero One for the rest depending who has what in stock edit: ended my post with 'regards', still in work-mode lol
  16. For re-usable (rather than thunderflash which is excellent throw away stuff) then Dynatex is pretty awesome, although the current load they're making all seem to come with about a 10 second fuse, requiring abit of silicon oil and use to get down to the expected 6 seconds
  17. You may have issues bringing your airsoft gun into the country, I suggest you phone UK customs and ask. Once you are here; as with anyone regardless of nationality, in the UK you'll be fine as long as you dont do anything daft with your airsoft gun (wave around in public etc) When i got my UKARA there was no requirement to prove i was a UK national and you should be able to get UKARA in the same manner as anyone else. You'll only need to do this if you wish to buy another airsoft gun (not two-tone painted) in the UK. If you can get your current gun into the country and dont want to buy another then you don't need UKARA. If you play enough to be entitled to get UKARA, then you might as well get it.
  18. The yanks are already at it; http://www.cbsnews.com/news/colorado-man-arrested-after-pointing-banana-at-police/
  19. How dare you say such a thing p.s. Might be getting same MX5 MS1 as you now firesupport have them back in stock, damn fine gun just deciding if i really need another
  20. Anyone else think him not getting shot shows there's a lack of darwinism in the UK?
  21. I'm also guessing the 'extreme' CQB means it's extremely close-quarters rather than an indication of experience
  22. seems they'll have 5 vs 5 games, is it evil to picture a squad of seasoned airsofters giving it a proper pyro filled storming vs the forementioned spotty kids?
  23. So the overselling chaps at JustBBGuns are having another go at their 'CQB' site in Wokingham... (http://www.airsoft101.co.uk) Think it'll count as a warcrime to bring a TM high-cycle to this small warehouse officespace filled with spotty 14year-olds and their bright orange BB guns? Should i insist they handover their lunch money before returning to the spawn? I'm practicing my nelson 'haw-haw' in preparation... The horror...
  24. A ten rock of crack? Think you're looking more for a sponsorship deal and wearing someones brandname for when the cctv footage goes viral Edit: make that a 20 rock of crack if your t-shirt has UKARA in big letters on it
