Hotstepper Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hi All, I'm really new to air soft (as in ice watched it on YouTube quite a bit and like the look of it). I'm 23 from Tarleton, Lancashire. Does anyone have any advice for me? What equipment do I need to buy rather than borrow when I'm there first time? Where should I go first time? All and any advice is welcome Thanks in advance

Root Admin proffrink Posted January 5, 2016 Root Admin Posted January 5, 2016 Welcome to the forums. Basically what Sp00n has said: There's a wealth of knowledge already on the forums. Almost any question that you can think of as a beginner has already been asked and answered. We're happy to fill any gaps but you'll get quicker results if you spend a few hours trying to track down the knowledge for yourself. Hotstepper Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Thanks guys As anyone ever played near me? Southport or Preston?
Supporters jcheeseright Posted January 5, 2016 Supporters Posted January 5, 2016 No1 tip: don't buy ANYTHING until you've played a game or two, you'll only end up not using it ever again because your perception of what you think you'll need is very different to what you'll actually need deebo, Esoterick, K@rl and 1 other 4
cropzy Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Welcome to the forums. Google is your friend. All the new questions have answers on this forum. Play a game first before you decide to purchase anything to see if the sport truly is for you. Happy airsofting!
Mr Monkey Nuts Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Bravo 22 at Formby is a decent site, can be a bit hit and miss with dickheads, but that is not exclusive to them.
Hotstepper Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Don't know anyone that would want to come with me :/ feel a bit awkward going on my own
Head Moderator Jedi_Master Posted January 5, 2016 Head Moderator Posted January 5, 2016 Just do it, the sooner you go the sooner you can start playing. Many of us started out solo but make that initial effort and it is worth it. Most airsofters are friendly and will talk to you and show you the ropes and talk about the game. Do not be intimitadated by their guns and kit just talk to them, we all started out as new players. One key point - take your hits, regardless. And have fun.
Mostly Retired Moderators djben9 Posted January 5, 2016 Mostly Retired Moderators Posted January 5, 2016 welcome, as jedi said, just do it, dont be afraid, i was for years (and other commitments as well) now I'm thinking of selling my children to fund a new gun!!.... as for what you need, boots / walking shoes is a must, check with the site you go to, other than that you'll get provided with stuff, but for my first game I also got some mesh googles and a face mask
K@rl Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I was solo first time. I rang and spoke to the site owner before. Asked a couple of noob questions and then went that weekend so he remember speaking to me. Set me up then introduced me to a couple of regulars who helped me out all day. Now I play every week.
