I'm aware of the Patrol Base listing, thanks. I'd seen the chain since it was on Whatsapp, let alone get on to Used Airsoft.

It may be technically retail because it's got a separate warranty but it's still going to be viewed as a third-party custom job (albeit produced on a small scale) because an OEM supplied an AEG, many of whose parts were replaced with upgrades.

People aren't going to care about the technicality of it being a retail job, they're going to care about the G&G SR-15 base and its upgrades and how much they cost against the buyer's asking price.

Why the aggressive reply. You implied that you was not aware in your post. Was just trying to add info. I did not intend to offend.

The OEM supplied argument?  Many brands use OEM AEGs then alter them for retail sale as another brand. Heck this is how most things for sale work.

I didn't imply. You perceived. The two aren't the same.

Gotta love the buyers remorse on this one.

Maybe buyers remorse but they are right about the price. £600 is not a bad asking price. You know no matter what price you ask you will get low balled.

£600 is an awful asking price.

Agreed, even importing it direct from Proact is only going to cost around £500 new after taxes.

They are literally £700 new and i can only find one shop in the UK that's got them in stock. I am not saying they are going to get that but you always price higher than what you actually want for the gun.

Buying GBBRs from a shop in the UK is where you're going wrong tbh.

Unless you're really impatient i don't see a reason to buy them here when the total cost from Hong Kong or Taiwan is at least 25% cheaper, but often more like 40%.

I saw a retailer selling a VFC SCAR-H MK20 for about a grand a while ago. Mine was around 550 all in from Action.

Some UK retailers are truly taking the piss on GBBR's at the moment - a certain retailer literally charging double for KWA masada's recently comes to mind.

I mean, if they actually stand behind a warranty, and keep parts in stock, and have techs who can fix them, I can see where the markup is.

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiif.

They don't stock parts, so its kinda moot. The only retailers who actively stock parts for anything GBBR consistently is Milspec & HPA UK, and from past experience of the latter i'm fairly sure for at least half of their 'stock' they're dropshipping.

HPA are sometimes handy. Firesupport has a lot of very random parts in stock that can also be handy.

Other than that the markup on GBB, especially mags, is insane.

Yeah, while I'm not totally confident importing RIFs because I don't trust customs to not be dumb, I always buy GBBR parts from abroad. Hong Kong shops always have way more stuff and for not-stupid prices

You just put your UKARA on the box, customs don't care.

They'll just chib you 20% of the stated value, same as always.

Vote Farage and he’ll do a Trump trade war on China to protect the UK airsoft market

Yeah, I know that's how it's supposed to work, and probably does now, but I remember the times where you had your UKARA on the side of the box and customs would still just decide "nah, these are dangerous weapon parts you terrorist" and your parcel would never arrive.

Fortunately, there aren't really any RIFs I want that I don't already have...

Or if you want to be extra, extra specific, get them to write this on the side of the box in bold:

"These toys are being imported for use the acting out of military or law enforcement scenarios for the purposes of recreation - AKA "skirmishing", as outlined in the Skirmishers Defense in Section 36 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act.

The recipient, **Your Name**, is a registered member of the United Kingdom Airsoft Retailer’s Association (UKARA), membership number **Your UKARA Number*"
