The greatest Irony I found with the debate was the section on the NHS. Milliband was cutting into Cameron over 'ruining' the NHS. Next minute the Welsh lady turned round and ripped into Milliband pointing out it was his party that cut spending in Wales...

Ill probably vote conservative as the local MP seems to actually be a stand up guy who is not afraid to go against even his own party. UKIP certainly make a very good argument and Europe has been a cancer to us as far as our exports are concerned. However Cameron has promised a referendum anyway and if he does not deliver he can kiss my vote goodbye next time.

I don't like him dangling a carrot over the UK people like that.....

UKIP wanna the vote now

and just remembered a thing back in mid/late 90's.....

We went total tits up when people were playing/buying/selling sterling and £ was going through floor etc...

Interest rates were then announced to be 11% 13% think it might have gone to 15% all on that same day of panic as sterling took a belting

we WAS signed up for Europe but close of play they said we were stepping back from Europe

and the interest came back down lower and lower each year

yeah some of the Europe crap just don't work

It doesn't matter who Scotland votes for because we're small and less than 1/10th the population of England. The Tories have 1 Westminster seat in Scotland. A area in the borders voted them in that has a low population but they are the party that rules the UK. Also Tony Blair was scottish but as I said the UK runs for the benefit of London. being apart of the Union is the same as the UK being in the EU because Brussels controls Westminster and Westminster controls Scotland so either way it's us that gets spit roasted.

You guys seem to be getting a far better deal then the rest of the UK! The current system cant be working that badly for you...

That was the Exchange Rate Mechanism that caused it as we were paired off with the deutschmark. Idea was it would stabilize the currencies in Europe to make trade easier and setting up a shared currency easier. But as you say leaving it after they panicked and pulled out of the ERM helped in the long run. Pulling out arguably helped Major lose the next election ironically though.

Another interesting fact I picked up through my current course is that the day after we joined the EU our exports plummeted and have never regained since...

Oh and some crackpot in the EU thinks that the Union forming its own army will actually help with controlling Putin  Start a war mabye but help... I dont think so.

Thats because the braveheart crew dont look at all the issues. What would happen to the Scottish NHS when they have to pay for their own army, airforce and navy never mind all the rest of the infrastructure they share with the UK. I say we should let them go their own way. It would create jobs building a a nice big wall.

I just remember hearing on radio wtf ? WTF ? WTF?

how daf*ck am I gonna pay next months mortgage

and I wasn't in a much better paying job than when I previously sold myself so short coz I needed to get a job - any job at the time

Like the wall idea but think UKIP might use polish builders as they are a lot cheaper

You do realise that if you lower university fees then the tax payers put more money in. What is needed is more done to create jobs for graduates and less pointless degrees that dont lead to real jobs. Then university grads can pay back the loans easier and also put more back into the economy.

No degree is pointless, and in my field their is a surplus of jobs so that is not a problem.

why should students have to pay £9000 a year when we our the future of our economy. under browns labor fees were only £3000.

Taxes make up less than 15% of university income students have to pay the rest....

To be honest if you would rather fund lazy people on benefits rather then thriving academics you need to sort out your priorities.

Wasn't gonna reply as this is airsofting but wtf it is quiet......

Am or was one of Maggie's kids - yes Thatcher the milk snatcher

you go out, get best basic form of education, get a job, work hard and hopefully stand on your own two feet/home etc....

Wish Scotland got their yes vote tbh - if somebody really wants out in any partnership/relationship there really is not much you can do to make them stay

But ironic that everybody can start to pull away from UK with their own little country (always wondered when England would get a chance to opt out of UK)

Seriously we - the UK are the UK because of being together and why pull it all apart

yes everybody pays more or they pay less - heck how much I have paid in taxes but when I got made redundant I claimed very little back

they wouldn't listen about mortgage - they said your wife still works - didn't ask how much she earned or anything....

Luckily that time I got a job, a crappy $hit job

but a job all the same within a month selling myself well short for a while

(but though that was a while back - '92 in fact and still trying to recover from last boom/bust - but was lucky I guess)

No I don't love the Tories like I used to, they have squeezed everybody but if you the country are in financial $hit

Then the last thing you do is take out a friggin' payday loan from Wonga - you have to cut back like family holidays, defense, welfare reduction etc....

I don't agree with Labour and the Blair & Brown pact - trust me m8 I'll let you have a go (and f*ck it up)

or the so called fair proportional representation bollox of how Ed Milliband came out on top

(yeah don't tell me the unions voting method so much better - do you realise how some unions are more f*cking corrupt than the politicians

You wouldn't believe the backhanders and scams that were ALWAYS pulled in Fleet St with NGA & SOGAT unions on papers and how very little

no I'd say F All those bastids gave a $hit about the rest of us working in pi$$pot printers for a fraction of what them greedy lot was getting

the stories and stunts they all pulled yet they were gobsmacked when they finally got f*cked over by Murdoch and all came crashing down

You can't hold papers/advertisments/newspapers to ransom for ever and take the pi$$ forever - something had/did give - plus the printers

were betrayed by some of the electrician union who ran those new presses at wapping the next day - yeah solidarity there my brothers)

Scotland did well - Nicola Sturgeon came across really well and we need to grow our way out of this

Yeah - with what ffs - how we gonna just chuck grass seeds about coz we are still in $hit still so we ain't chucking money around

I think Obahma is a good leader ffs but I can't vote for him from down South England...

I don't want Fracking either, I think UKIP lost what headway it was making with the AIDS treatment story but a lot of people are thinking

hang on a sec - "some" of that stuff does make a bit of sense to be fair but don't think they are all racist nutters

But do they have any other proposals other than get out of Europe and ease up a bit on immigration ????

Still some of their "milder" policies are being at least looked at by the main parties - only coz it may cost those parties dearly

not in money but in what they need - YOUR VOTE. That is the only reason they are kind of saying about looking at immigration/Europe

I do NOT want to see a Labour & SNP running the whole country - which could happen

(yeah nice one labour - think ya tucked yourself up there and even the more traditional labour people don't trust you - that is funny)

I feel Lib Dem and Tories should be given another term to see if they can finish the job rather than another lot come in and blame others

whilst they paper over the cracks so to speak. Lib Dem's have lost a lot of ground but feel they do what Clegg says and helps to keep the

Tories in check a little

Will I vote Tory like I have done previously or will I say to hell and vote UKIP like I did for Euro....

I dunno, I have been hit a little by the cuts, don't agree with fracking but unsure if UKIP will do much more than drag us out of europe

Which coming out of Europe can't be a mega bad deal like some say, in fact some financial analysts say it could be a good thing

Oh and America & China ain't in Europe but they still trade with the world - what did we do before we joined Europe but kept the £

Don't take everything you read to be gospel chaps on we must remain in Europe or the ar$e falls out of UK

Remember the Millenium Bug and everything was gonna go tits up, planes drop out of sky at midnight everybody panic.....

Ergh - think we scraped through just about ok on that one

THEY ARE ARE ALL LIARS !!!!!

Make up YOUR own mind, read up but take what YOU read at first glance with a pinch of salt, even the media is tainted depending on what/where you read

Go with YOUR gut feeling or what YOUR heart tells ya - if your party gets elected and makes a bigger mess than what we are in now...

DON'T blame THEM but the people who elected them - which YOU played a part in btw

WE CAN'T KEEP BLAMING EVERYBODY ELSE FOR UK's PROBLEMS - We need to own up and accept we are all responsible in some tiny way

we all overspent, we voted all the previous ar$eholes in, and stop moaning but get off our ar$es and ALL of us work to get out of this

No it ain't a speech for me to move into No10, and soz to anybody on here who is really in $hit and hit much harder times thatn most of us

(we moan but really we are still doing ok if you can somehow pay the bills (most of them) and food on table/wolves from door etc...)

soz to anybody who really is in $hit - I am sure it ain't as easy as many think it is to get a job and keep it - best of luck to those of you

be glad when its all over - just hope we don't get into a bigger mess when the dust settles - peace to all of you - yeah even SNP - kidding all of ya

This is the section of the forum for non Airsoft stuff :P

Just a few things. Why don't you want the SNP and labour running the country?

The NHS in England could end up with an American style healthcare system with another 4years of Clegg and Cameron. Does the huge cuts on the horizon not concern you? the NHS cant take anymore cuts. We can scrap nuclear weapons and HS2. I have a aircraft carrier 10miles away that won't be used for 5years with another one being built but may be scrapped on completion would it not be better to cut those?

I've been in a situation where I lost my job aswell but I lost my house because of it and I got no help. The council said I would need to go to the Salvation Army for help. The job center took over a month to process my claim and make a partial payment of about £60 to last a fortnight. I'm in a situation now where I get raped on tax I made £800 in 1 week and walked out with £500 and what do I get if I need to go on the dole? Humiliated from people there to help make to feel like I'm a worthless despite working double shifts 7 days a week. We need a better distribution of wealth and Tories won't do that ever.

Think to be fair maybe £5,000 or so should be the limit

yes we should all pay for further education past A level - which is more stuff than I left with

everybody should pay something - especially if that will help and further their employment

heck I was doing a few evening courses at London College of Print - Elephant & Castle - gone now some media bollox college

but I paid to learn more about others areas and gain a better understanding of the numerous other area of my industry

(might have helped me gain a better understanding of stuff and maybe stood me in better shape for job interviews with my PhD in lithographic bull$hit)

Actually Britain was built on conquest and nicking everything of value once we did.

Sorry I should have said Britain is a diverse society now and we all benefit from it. But the point stands example North Korea has very little immigration and is shit the UK has open borders and is the 6th richest country in the world( that was a bit of a joke) but anyway I like fact we're part of the EU. If we leave the EU we would need to pay VAT on stuff from Taiwan gun or any other EU Airsoft shop think of that. Bye bye much cheapness.

Actually bringing back apprenticeships is the real future of the economy. If there are no useless degrees why cant so many graduates find real employment. 15% is still too much when there are bigger issues like the NHS I applaud anybody who wants to get a degree but you should foot the bill. Under Browns labour universities were struggling with underfunding.

As for my priorities they are paying for my family and what they need not for you to go to university. Leave uni get some real experience in life then comment.

I'm just wondering, why does everyone think Scotland gets a better deal from the UK because of free prescriptions and further education, Surely how the Scottish NHS / Government allocates its budget to allow for these things has nothing to do with the rest of the UK? They could be rolled out across the rest of the UK, it's just that there are things deemed more important by the budget makers surely?

As for the whole Scottish Army stuff, I dont see us going off to start any wars any time soon, why wouldnt a defence force like Ireland's suffice us? We contribute far more in tax to the MOD than they actually spend in Scotland, I can't remember the figures but it was something like a 1/3 extra we pay to have it spent elsewhere.

Not that I'm trying to go all Pro indy here, just saying a lot of the "better deal" arguements tend to be nonsense, the power that the Scottish Government has allows them to make things this way, blame not us who you percieve as having a better deal but the British government for not giving you the same deal surely.

I agree £9000 is a bit much for some students. There should be some means testing if Mommy and Daddy are rich then you should foot the total cost as should foreign students. People from less privileged backgrounds should get more help there is still too much class division within university education. It might help break the cycle of multi generation benefit families.

I respect your priorities,

Apprenticeships are already a popular choice with young people (a lot of my friends did apprenticeships).

However graduates ARE a vital part of the GLOBAL economy not just the UK a world without graduates would not function. the future generation needs engineers and academics, would you trust a surgeon with only basic levels of education? of course not. A lot of countries in the EU have FREE higher education, and theyre doing better than us eg: Denmark...

Labour I really don't trust they didn't leave us in good shape as they exited

Really unsure if bailing the Banks out was such a good idea - but we will never know the true real answer if we didn't

Funny if I screw up at work I have to be held accountable for my mistakes - wonder if my bank will pay my bills coz I'm a bit skint this month ???

SNP - hmmm - well previously this labour's main area to count on, but they nearly got their wish to breakaway from UK

(Not England - yeah I know there is a lot of banter between England & Scotland, but I'm talking about UK here)

Now they got certain powers to govern parts of their own country - which they always have had certain different laws banknotes etc....

Which is fine - but after the vote the rest of the UK was saying ok let them have more say in Scotland's governing but less in UK or England

40% wanted out but this much higher and it could of gone either way, and the vote may/will be brought up again so seems to me that SNP

didn't like the outcome - funny Salmond quit when he didn't the chance to be crowned king of scotland.

The vote may come up again - well yeah pretty sure it will as the SNP appears to bring out more patriotism in the Scottish people

Funny English Patriotism is referred to as racist though

Anyway - lets say at this present moment in time with support growing perhaps for a different final referendum result....

say 45% want out of UK - lets just hyperthectically say that 45%

So getting close to half of Scotland don't wanna be in UK - oh yeah let them form a coalition....

Now with whom - oh yeah Labour - the people that even the Scottish people don't trust and choose their own political party

Now these 2 parties who helped to start off this mess and half the others nearly don't wanna be in the UK

THESE 2 parties are gonna decide the future of the WHOLE UK ????

Yeah I think I will stick with the devil I do know and let the 2 other idiots have another stint and see if they can honour half of their promises at least

(half is quite a milestone in political terms btw)

They're all tits, it's a case of picking the best of a bad bunch. Not a huge fan of any of them, don't even like listening to them for the most part although I can listen to Farage even though I think the majority of the stuff that comes out his mouth is bollocks.

Pretty much it feels like a case of choosing whether you get stabbed or shot, either way it sucks. Last time loads of us(Brits) voted Lib dem and we get the tories by proxy? That just highlights how horrible our political system really is. If there was an option that said "none of these parties represent me or my beliefs" that would be what I would choose. As it stands I will be deciding who out of Labour and the Conservatives will do the least damage to the country and vote based on that. Not that they really have to follow through on anything they say to get in power it seems...

As far as Scotland goes, I think they should be free to make up their own minds. However it all seems very vague: there seems to be no indication on how trade with England would go, how borders would work, the currency used or trade with Europe. Admittedly I haven't followed this closely so I could well be mistaken but it seems to be based on a hell of a lot of assumptions. There are a hell of a lot of considerations to make basically outside of feeling patriotic and wanting independence.

I'm just wondering, why does everyone think Scotland gets a better deal from the UK because of free prescriptions and further education, Surely how the Scottish NHS / Government allocates its budget to allow for these things has nothing to do with the rest of the UK? Agreed on this point, it's an extremely flawed argument that Scotland is somehow leeching off the treasury. There's also reasonable evidence(although it appears to be debated) that Scotland actually contributes a great deal more than England economically to the point where the north sea oil fields are left out of some reports...

Scotland got lied to about the new powers. The No campain was all lies and using the BBC and business leaders to undermine the yes campain who were more positive about Scotland and that's why they gained so much support the no campain was all negitive. The final outcome was a no vote so why should we have less of a say in the UK? The Union needs Scotland more than we need it and that was very clear last year now it's back to slapping up down.

Our SNP government has done a good job so why won't you let them try improve the whole of the UK?

Welcome my friend to the REAL world we all live in

I don't want to start a SCOT Vs ENGLAND war - but if the Scots were mislead/brainwashed/lied to that sounds to me like a normal election campaign

Really - you wanna try and manage something you didn't wanna be envolved with

with another party you no longer vote for or trust to deliver

I know you may not love the English or rest of UK but surely you don't hate us that much
