Supporters Ian_Gere Posted January 14, 2015 Supporters Share Posted January 14, 2015 Ah, I see what has happened now - exactly the same as happened to me in this pic: My facemask was loose and as i ran it bounced opening up the gap between it and my eyepro. My solution is pads on the inside of the mask against my cheekbones so i can wear the mask very tight. Now it stays put and is much more comfortable. It also works with a greater variety of eyepro, since the mesh sits a bit forward, out of the way of eyepro frames.
kriegar
yeah i run a similar set up and i've had the same happen to me too, thankfully nowhere near as bad as that though.

Supporters Ian_Gere Posted January 20, 2015 Supporters Share Posted January 20, 2015 That Aussie loadout of yours looks great, Russe11. It's a real shame about the goggles. Something in keeping with the era would make such a difference. Some desert driver's goggles, or even some Biggles' stylee'n'ting, with the mesh from those tan things replacing the original lenses would do it. Or even better, the mesh from a set of these - you can increase the strength of the mesh by wrapping the end of each wire around the last one to cross it @90 degrees; that way the shape of the squares cannot become deformed by the wire bending as to do so it has to be pulled inwards - with a loop preventing this, the only way for the squares to become deformed is for the wire to stretch in length and obviously there is not enough energy carried by any site legal FPS BB to do that. Russe11
I do have some biggles type goggles, the problem is that they fog up like a bastard.
Guest PT247
I had some Biggles type goggles for on my motorbike, and they fogged on that too so would def fog at airsoft.

I had some Biggles type goggles for on my motorbike, and they fogged on that too so would def fog at airsoft. Yeah, I imagined as much - that was why I suggested replacing the original lenses with mesh; preferably interwoven wire mesh rather than perforated sheet, because it is better for seeing through as the largest dimension of solid material is the diagonal across the square produced by the crossed wires (approx 1.28mm) whereas the dimension bisecting the 'triangle-oid' shapes left between punched out circles of perforated sheet is about 1.5mm. The threshold for the shadows produced on your vision to completely disappear from view seems to be about 1.1mm, so neither of them will be as clear as polycarbonate lenses, but the larger the shadow, the more it creates the phenomenon of sudden involuntary refocussing of the eyes close up, as your eyes try to focus on the mesh rather than beyond it. The mesh replacements I made for my ESS Advancer V12's are very good for vision - almost like wearing nothing at all.

SatNav
I had a few issues with it before due to my own stupidity but the MP7 is great so glad i brought it it's so light an easy to aim with even whilst on the move (both normal and off-hand). clumpyedge
How did you like The Gaol? Absolutely superb! Not every day you get to play in a prison and was well worth the drive, there were only a small amount of us which made the games flow quite nicely as i can imagine in some of the stair wells and corridors if there are numbers above say 50-60 it could get a bit jammed up! I will definitely be going back at some point this year. The staff there are amazing and very friendly and gave a good insight into the prisons history as well which i thought was a nice touch! Ah awesome, yeah The Gaol is my local so just wondered your thoughts were. You're right about high numbers, the stairs do get crowded but they do their best to mitigate that Done a couple milsims there but would love to do a low number game 10v10 etc.... Would be some great sneaky/tactical play. Especially with the loft and basement area in play. Glad you liked the site

Glad you liked the site Totally agree with you mate would love to do a lower numbers game there! when i played on the private game on Saturday i think there were 23ish a side. What was the Milsim like there? We didn't get to use the basement or the lofts, but Justin did mention the tunnels to me. I think a night game would be good there but imagine that with housing so close you wouldn't get away with it or at the very least you'd not be able to use bangs? Milsims were ace, 1 weekender (Stalker themed) so not for everyone and 2 1 day events. The drug cartels vs DEA was 1-7pm so nice and dark as it was November and bangs were still being used, however, not sure what would happen regarding through the night game play. Going on 15th Feb for members only so hoping for lowish numbers it not holding my breath!!

kerby91
And just so noone moans about me not uploading pics, heres on of me at my first airsoft day in 10 years im the slightly chubby one in this pic....strange that seeing as ive lost 3 stone this past year thanks to diabetes...how odd haha In the one below i had been hit, so i put my arm up and called hit....here you see about half a minute after the initial call, and ive since been hit in the throat twice, the cheek once and finally had my balls clipped...all by the same guy. He clearly saw me call my hit, clearly saw me standing there with my arm raised...and still fired at me. the marshall called foul play, and allowed me to rinse the little tw*t with a borrowed mk23 NBB....was lovely putting 20 odd 390fps shots into the little scrotes back at about 5 foot as he realised the problem and tried to leg it....tosser

Lowlander
bringing some new toys out for a spin a the first game of the year at Dragon Valley. It being rather cold, i didn't want to be caught cold if the glock carbine froze up, hence the PDR-C slung on my chest.
