Righty, reluctant to sell, but would make moving house a little easier. Cheaper than others sold here, and way cheaper than new in the UK to reflect a couple issues. Works well despite these issues. It has fitted an upgraded CNC JWI hop chamber, Maple Leaf Crazy Jet inner barrel. Real Magpul K2 pistol grip (will include the stubby rattler grip too). Magwell adapted to take the VFC v2 and v3 VMags. Comes with the Artisan Rattler SD suppressor and rail kit. It also has nice Sig Markings from FCW. Ordered last October from Octagon airsoft. These things are super cool but have a few known problems. I’ve addressed them and it works great, but I’ve not actually skirmished it. Issues and solutions: - Finish kinda sucks and despite not being skirmished, has marked up quite easy. Purely cosmetic - Tolerances are too tight brand new and so I’ve had to cycle it a lot and rack it a lot to break in the internals. The stock recoil springs come very stiff and the finish is very sandy and rough and needed to be worn down through the internals moving how they need to to get it smooth. It’s nice and smooth now, but again, the finish has worn off parts of the bolt carrier and inside the receiver. - there’s a screw missing from inside the upper receiver (pictured) so far doesn’t seem to affect anything. - Original QD suppressor is stuck to the muzzle device. I don’t know how. I don’t want to ruin the finish on the suppressor with tools to remove it. - inner barrel extension removed from the stock suppressor because it’s not compatible with the maple leaf. - Stock Hop rubber over hops 25s or lower so could do with a change if light bbs are your thing. But 32s are perfect. Maybe not so good for CQB tho, which is the point of this gun. - Airsoft Artisan SD suppressor is scratched from some mlok grip screws foolishly. - Full auto fps and spread can be inconsistent. Would benefit from the hop upgrade. But semi auto is like a laser and snappy as hell. This thing is very nearly awesome. But could use a little tinkering still to really get it perfect. Full auto rate of fire will make you cry with excitement. On semi it’s snappy and crisp and accurate. It absolutely pings. The trigger is great and resets nice, clear and kinetically almost as clear as the break. It’s a very fun shooter. However, compared to other GBBRs it requires more regular cleaning of the internals because of the bad finish mixing with the lubricant in the gas and clogging up the very strong recoil springs. This is not as much an issue since I’ve been breaking it in. And has become lesser. Just expect to need to do more than the usual maintenance. Gas efficiency wise, when kept clean it’s up there with the rest of VFC V3 gas ARs, 3-5 mags worth of bbs on one gas fill. I have a series of very honest videos up on YouTube to take into consideration. I will not be selling it with a magazine. I’m afraid I need them all for my other VFCs they are quite available though on high pressure airsoft and other retailers. https://www.highpressureairsoft.co.uk/gas-magazines/vfc-m4-green-gas-magazine-30rds---grey To do this yourself: Gun on Defcon airsoft - £640 Upgraded JWI hop chamber - £52 plus shipping Maple Leaf Crazy Jet - £25 Airsoft Artisan SD kit and Rail - £160 shipped Plus Markings cost So really £420 despite no mag isn’t too much I don’t think. Or spend 3 times as much for a Toxicant MWS 🤷🏻‍♂️ Plus £10 P&P More pictures and videos available on request. Will only trade for an MWS CQBR or a GBBR G36 plus cash my way.

    £420

  2. Hey! I’m in need of some assistance, i was given a glock some time back, in my gun rack never touched and now I would like to start using it. I’m trying to buy mags for it but sadly I don’t know anything about the make or model so if someone could possibly let me know that would be greatly appreciated!

  4. Generally anything Tokyo Marui will be good, so I'd take a look through the pistols that TM have on offer and see if you like them. Outside of that, I really like the AAP-01. It's super modifiable and pretty reliable as long as you don't use the fun switch. If you want to use the fun switch, they require upgrading because the full auto will blow the trigger sears apart. I've had no issues with mine at all, but I only run them semi-auto.
  5. I was also at DogTag yesterday. Crap start for me when I got ten minutes away and released I'd left my boots at home! Quick nip to the services to see if the petrol station had anything for truckers. Lo and behold they did, and I played with the finest boots available (for £35 from Pease Pottage services). Morning games were alright with the castle, a part I've not used before. Less alright was when a chap on my own side with poor awareness/muzzle/trigger disclipine, shot me in the side of the head with a 2.3j rifle from about 3 feet away & it lodged in my ear (photo of offending item: https://ibb.co/4gMJk2F). He was very apologetic and I know accidents happen, but it wasn't brilliant. Ended up with claret on my kit/RIF. The afternoon was a struggle. About 70% of the field seemed to go home, so there was only 20 or so people left by the end. I gave up around 3:30 when it was basically 5-a-side. Is this a common thing now? I've never been to another site that empties out so much at lunch, to the point where I'm not sure I'd bother paying for another full day. That said driving nearly an hour to only play for three doesn't seem worth the effort.
  6. Tempted to try and speak to my bank about it, see if they can do anything as it's not fair, it was advertised as working, then it wouldn't feed when tested, he then started ignoring me, claimed he was busy blah blah blah, said he will "pass me some money Thursday" made me quite sad tbh, was looking forward to using it.
  7. Ace Airsoft War Games is literally 5 minutes from where I am currently, but until recently I thought the site was just a place that did paintball/kids parties/axe throwing etc. If you look at the spot on google maps with a wider perspective you'll see Warped Sports which is the aforementioned type activity centre, but if you carry on zooming the marker for Ace appears. It is very much.. a woodland airsoft site. It's fine. I certainly wouldn't tell anyone to avoid by any means, but I don't think it needs to be on the top of any must-visit site lists. More on account of the physical size/shape of the game areas than anything, they're all fairly long but pretty narrow, which even with only around 25 per side just made most of the games very stalemate'y. In a way, if you just want to shoot all day it actually works out, because it's a short walk to regen then you're back at it and it wasn't massively overcrowded, there just wasn't much movement. Nothing to be done as the borders were set as wide as they can be within the land. Track from the road to the car park somewhat lengthy and a bit bumpy but they'd put a lot of work and material in to filling the holes so could've been far far worse. Decent amount of safe zone cover and table space, not a lot of chairs but equally there wasn't too much sitting around in there either. I didn't make use of the shop or food facilities myself, looked alright though. Staff were pretty good overall I'd say. Works out to about £26 for military, £24 for members or £29 for pre-booked walk-ons. No lunch included, but that seems about a fair price for woodland in the west mids. Definitely some 'chatty' characters but I guess every day has that, everyone seemed sound overall which combined with the basically perfect weather did work out nicely. The one event that kinda pissed on my morning's play was standing up from my cover spot after the staff all shouted game over etc and catching a full auto burst all across my head and torso; couldn't spot the culprit but oh well. 🙄 2 other issues I had. The first that really won't matter to most people is that one of the game areas is thick with some kind of plant (and I mean thick, it's a carpet of the stuff) which stinks to high heaven. Someone near me said wild onion. The entire area has a sort of dank smell to it an my boots stink now even after being scrubbed immaculately clean in the shower. Maybe I've just got a sensitive little nose but it was pungent to me personally and I'm worried as to whether it'll ever come out of my boots. Secondly, this pic was taken on the path that leads from the SZ to the afternoon game area. There's maybe 6m between it and the M54 with absolutely no screening for a portion. Now, I'm assuming it's been this way for years with nothing untoward happening so fair enough, but I certainly made sure my gun was held down below the waist when going by. To me, just the lightest bit of sparse visual screening would be fine here since it's a dual carriageway with the usual 70 limit, but I was surprised by this uncovered area tbh. I'm sure nobody would be stupid enough to ever just fire BBs at a car......

  9. It does of course depend on the point. If the point is a brief routine view of general standards then it achieves the goal. Basic levels of cleanliness and safety go together, if you can’t sort that out with 24 hours notice then you’re the true problem. A targeted visit could be different, so the life tip of ‘don’t be a dick’ always helps. If you aren’t a dick and don’t do stupid things then they won’t have anything in particular to be looking closely for
  10. Hello. I'm Liam, the current President of Cardiff's Airsoft Society. I've seen that you've spoken already with some of the other members on our Discord but just wanted to pop our experience and advice here for others to see. Unfortunately, in Cardiff University accomodation (and most other University Accomodation), airsoft guns are not permitted as they would be considered a "replica weapon". The specific line from your contract to be concerned about is: 15. (2) "You must not bring into the dwelling or Building anything which in the University’s reasonable opinion is or may become dangerous, noxious, offensive, combustible, corrosive, inflammable, radioactive or explosive including, (but not limited to), firearms, air rifles, pistols, cross-bows, or any other weapons (including replicas or deactivated weapons), gas cylinders or oil burners." Based on this, our official advice as a society is to follow your accommodation's contract. Luckily, we have a locker that is provided by our Student's Union. Unfortunately, this has limited space. We sometimes allow members to store their equipment in the locker however this is typically limited to a maximum of 1 gun case and we do not guaratee that this will be a possiblity. It is at the discretion of our Quartermaster. As far as I am aware, this is not standard for University Airsoft Societies and some others do not have any space to store society equipment at all, let alone member's equipment. There are people who decide to violate their accommodation T&C by storing their equipment in their accommodation room (including myself in my first year) though this is not our official position. For those that do, this is generally what is noted and the advice given: - Typical room inspections at Cardiff's Residences do not include opening closets, drawers, looking under beds etc. When I was in halls, this never occured to anyone I know. I had a security camera in my room and when the inspections occurred so I saw what they did. They simply opened the door, took a note on the general condition and left. This isn't definitely what would happen now (there was a degree of covid worry still at this time) and doesn't necessarily reflect what happens at other Universities either. You should also receive 24 hours notice before any inspection. - Your flatmates should not be able to access your room. To my knowledge, in all Cardiff Accomodations, your personal room will have a lock to which only you (and security) will have a key. Hard cases can usually be locked with a padlock to prevent easy access also. - Don't bring your guns into the communal areas of your flat. Security are permitted to enter communal areas without notification. Other people may also see through windows and be alarmed. - Don't show your flatmates your guns, especially if you don't know them well. They may not be comfortable with it or may report it. If you want to show them the sport, bring them along to a "Give it a Go" session ;). - Store guns in gunbags/hardcases at all times. Don't make it obvious what is inside (don't put gun stickers on it). It is very unlikely that an inspection would involve opening your case. To my knowledge, we have had no cases of anyone getting in trouble for storing airsoft equipment in University Accommodation since Covid. Again, our official position is to advise against breaking your accomodation T&C. However, we aren't going to stop you and certainly aren't going to report you ourselves. In terms of transporting around the city: - Keep your gun in a case/bag at all times. - Don't make it obvious what is inside. Don't put stickers with guns on it. Don't put military insignia on it. - Don't wear full equipment while walking around. We have a policy of half camo maximum (so either camo trousers or top, not both), all other equipment must be carried in a bag (chest rig, helmet, .etc). - If you're particularly concerned, Cardiff's Taxis and Uber are pretty cheap compared to the rest of the UK. - We provide transport to most games so as long as you can get to the Student's Union, you can get to the games. Again, we have had no issues since Covid with people transporting equipment. In fact occasionally we take public transport to gamedays (though we notify BTP beforehand). Money saving tips: - We sell BBs and equipment to members at reduced cost. I wont go into detail here as I am unsure of advertising rules on this site. There aren't any particular laws in Wales you need to be concerned about regarding Airsoft. Any other questions, shoot me a message on the Discord. Looking forward to seeing you next year hopefully Luckily, we also have not had any cases of this. I (and many other of our members) regularly did and do research regarding airsoft on the Eduroam network without any issue. If it were to occur, I imagine we'd be complaining pretty quickly.

  12. It's a safety pistol. Look on the positive side. You're not going to break anything with it 👍 Try using lighter bbs
  13. I always keep some WE valves in my spares stash. Usually just add a couple to an order if I need anything from KY airsoft

  16. From their Residential Terms and Conditions: "not bring into the Premises anything which in the University’s reasonable opinion is or may become dangerous, noxious offensive, combustible, corrosive, inflammable, radioactive or explosive including, but not limited to, firearms, air rifles, pistols, cross-bows, or any other weapons (including replicas or deactivated weapons), gas cylinders or oil burners."
  17. Anything WE, Kyairsoft is the place to go. RA-Tech has a lot of hype however there’s a lot of horror stories of bad QC, tolerance differences messing up. Personally I haven’t bought any RA-Tech parts based on the poor feedback I’ve seen though. In terms of longevity, my WE G36 is my most used GBBR being fielded pretty much all summer for the past few summers and the internals are all holding up well!
  18. If you're looking for experiences, then it might be a good shout to check out the Recommend a Tech threads Otherwise, I would say it depends on your gun, what you want from it, your budget and how long you wanna wait The more experienced/popular techs will no doubt have the longest waiting times and higher cost per hour charge. If it's for your ICS then Fire-support are the UK ICS specialists and tend to have all the little obscure parts for them - their site says "Labour fee is calculated on a job to job basis, but a service is approximately 30-40." I used them briefly when I bought my ICS Mp5 on release and had a motor issue. They were pretty quick, with fast/friendly comms and sorted the issue - no problems People will have their go-to techs for things like HPA, GBBR, Tokyo Marui as those particular places will have a name for doing (hopefully) great work with them You should look to get anything minor like general shimming, changing a hop, changing/upgrading a piston done whilst booked for a service to get better value for your money/time Shimming and the mere installation of parts like that are generally included in that pricing, just not the actual cost of the parts supplied by the tech, (as you'd expect) Most techs will allow you to provide parts yourself, but will not offer any guarentee on any parts they did not advise/supply So Service+Parts+Return Postage is usually the general "quote". -IF- they offer a flat charge for a Service, then average is usually between £30-50 - depending on what they deem is part of that service. some have different versions with different prices like "basic service" or "full service" If they don't offer a flat charge for a "Service", then yeah it's whatever their hourly rate is and how long it takes them
  19. Hi, Have a look here for local sites - playairsoft.co.uk First couple of times you play you dont need to buy anything. You can rent it all from the site. Once the bug has bitten you though, a good set of eye protection and a decent set of boots should high on your purchase list.

APFG (VFC) MCX Legacy Most likely going to regret this since they seem to be sold out everywhere, but new toys mean I need to make space for more gbbs. From the factory these things can struggle with lower temps and they will over hop anything lower than a 0.4g bb, however with a lot of time, trial and error I've got it set up perfectly for 0.32g bb's with good cold weather gas efficiency. The legacy features an adjustable NPAS system which allows you to control the FPS via a 1.5mm allen key so you can set to your desired levels based on limits and outdoor temp. Upgrades wise I settled on the following; - Gunnut Craft Works MCX hop up arm - Maple Leaf Decepticon Hop rubber modified to fit - RA-tech 6.02 225mm inner barrel - AMG Winter Hammer Spring (original included) - Custom Winter Recoil Springs (original included) - MCX Folding stock (original collapsing stock included) Comes with original VFC 30rd gas magazine. Attachments not included. Plenty of videos and photos available. £600 + postage or collection from North Staffordshire area (No trades please, looking for a cash sale only as I have new rifs on the way)

    £600

  21. Not sure why you’re saying some are bogus defences. I can’t see Firesupport doing anything that was bogus, don’t they run the UKARA system for a start.
  22. Thank you Allow me to clarify that I am fully committed to upholding all rules and regulations, especially those concerning firearm laws, I do not try to bypass anything. However, I'm interested in understanding if there are any provisions for experienced airsoft players like myself. Several friends from Spain, Sweden, and Turkey, along with myself, are keen on participating in the National Airsoft Festival in 2024. Unfortunately, it appears they may face challenges bringing their own guns due to stringent border regulations regarding RIFs. Around whether international airsoft players must solely rely on renting equipment or if there are alternative arrangements, such as gifting, available to them. I'm somewhat perplexed because while UKARA is designed for anyone interested in airsoft, I'm uncertain if there are distinct limitations or exemptions for non-UK players aiming to participate in the UK. I've heard that some airsoft players go for two-tone guns, but I'm not quite confident about the buying and selling process that goes along with it. It appears my main option is to proceed with the £120 to expedite obtaining my UKARA, which I find somewhat expensive. Attending games in my area typically costs £25-30, with an additional £30-35 for gear rental, totalling an extra £120-135 plus the time and effort of participating in three games with potentially subpar equipment. Additionally, I'm curious about the potential implications of purchasing a RIF second-hand. Do I still need UKARA for such purchases? Many thanks. @WonkyBoi @novioman Thank you guys, I had chance to read your answers after posted my new post. I will have a look and check the options for these sportsman also got my answer already from @noviomanfor my second hand buying options. Cheers !
  23. There is an argument to be made that if you're not going to do anything to a stock boltie then you might be unable to fully hop a heavier BB, or you have to apply so much hop pressure that you drop the muzzle energy to the point where a lighter BB would end up going further. Which is why I was careful to say "starting with the same energy at the muzzle, and assuming that the hop can impart enough spin". The thing is, a stock Tokyo Marui VSR is likely to be shooting at something comically low like 0.72J (280fps with a 0.2g). I'm not sure if OP is rocking a VSR10 clone, or if it's pre-meddled, or if it Joule crept upwards rapidly with heavier BBs. Either way, there's only really two sensible ways to go with it: tune it down to under 1.4J, or up to 2.3J shooting the heaviest BBs that it will hop at that muzzle energy.
  24. Couldn't spot a thread for this big ol' lump of goodness, so I thought I'd kick one off, so I can ask all my dumb "new owner" questions in one place. I'll also do a personal review once I've taken it for a skirmish, but the TL;DR version is - it feels fantastic as it's built like a tank, the recoil is powerful, and with heavy BBs it seems very accurate at 15m (which is as far as I've shot it so far) A bit of context: I've got several AEGs, a Tippmann M4 HPA which hasn't been set up well enough to skirmish with, and this is my first GBBR, so I'll be asking newbie questions about gas guns in general, as much as about this in particular. This gun was bought used with minimal wear, with a single mag (which itself suggests light plinking use rather than skirmishing) from Action Hobbies. I've just received a second mag from Patrolbase (cost £50, the last they had in stock) As it's set up right now, with some old Green Gas in the mag, it's hitting 290fps with 0.40g Geoff's Natural Precision BBs ... that's about 50fps more than I should have. Oopsies. My initial questions are: 1) What should I check / maintain in the gun from the off? I have already used some light silicone grease mixed with a squirt of silicone spray to make a very light grease, and lubed the bolt carrier and bolt. 2) I understand there's a built-in NPAS or power valve. The instruction booklet is useless, doesn't say anything about that - how do I adjust it? 3) I've only shot my gun at 15m with those 0.40's... is the standard hop-up capable of lifting them at range? Or should I be ordering something a little lighter? (My current ammo is all 0.25 and 0.28) 4) Any recommendations on gas? Currently there's some weird old "Puff Dino"(!) green gas in there that came with the gun. I mostly have Abbey Ultra, Abbey Sniper, and Ultrair Power Gas that I bought for my winter use of pistols. A bit of Nuprol 1.0 and 2.0, and some Abbey 144a Maintenance gas too. 5) Any must-have accessories? I've already got a specialised speedloader adapter (for the cheapo pistol speedloader I'm using at the moment) off of eBay. It seems to work a bit better than the standard one. I've got an Odin knock-off coming too, but I suspect the mag spring will defeat that quite quickly. The full Odin + adapter combo is a bit pricey at ~£72 though! As always, your thoughts much appreciated
  25. You'll have to open it up and check for anything broken.
