    These two.

I do not swear by it or do I try and enforce it on others, I just think it's good practice at the end of the day.

To be honest each to their own and I don't mind, I was just trying to have a little laugh and express my opinions, I did not mean any harm or to piss anybody off.

I know what you mean, but his budget is very very limited. Maybe if he could stretch it to around £600 then it would be better.

    My pc is £2000+

For the money, that's not a bad spec. Surprised you can't supply an OEM Windows licence if you're preinstalling it though.

I think it would possibly struggle a bit with a game like Medieval TW2 though. The CPU is roughly equivalent to my old Core 2 Quad Q6600 performance wise and that would run it but not well. While the game does have multi CPU support it doesn't do hyperthreading and it's pretty demanding if the unit sizes are high.

Now granted, I'm working at the higher end of gaming PCs (mine is more in the £1000 price range) and if most of the OPs games are relatively old then I'm sure they'll be fine. I'd just rather see a bit more horsepower in the CPU and GPU. That's not a bad little machine but it's never going to set the world alight (not that much else will at that budget).

I'll be honest I'm in the same boat as Finus and know next to nothing about computer specs so I may be firing a pm in the future , plus the shop isn't far from me so no postage!

Airsoft is always popular with youngsters but how many become long term players?

Several of my sons friends started to play after he did. all but one stopped after a few months.

At the sites we go to there seems to be a regular 'churning' of new young players.

it's the same with any hobby or pastime, you dabble and then something else catches your attention.

It's all part of growing up.

I have very recently joined this fine forum and after my intitial hellos have been asked to put some examples of the work that I do on here.
A very brief history of myself may come in useful I suppose,
Raised in Sourh Africa I came into contact with firearms at a very early age. My father carried an old 1911, mum a .22 unique and I eventually owned and carried a 9mm S&W.
One of my fathers closest friends was a man called Chris Reeve. He was an exceptional knife maker and can now be found on the web working in Idaho under the same name.
I used to work for him making knives and through him I learnt my tradecraft, business values and work ethics.
Chris is a perfectionist and he has gone on to being one of the worlds best and most respected cutlers in the world and I am very proud to be associated with him.

Suffice it to say that I fell into gun smithing through the military and found that I have a natural aptitude to most things firearms related.

My father is an avid pistol shooter even at the ripe old age of 78. He was asked by the owner of the shop where he gets his supplies if he could make a set if grips for a Samurai Edge. Dad happily agreed but before he could do them he was diagnosed with cancer. He lost the will to do any kind if woodwork but knowing what I do he asked me if I would have a look.
I had already done a 1911 for him as a gift and I readily agreed.
I contacted the owner of the Samurai Edge and was given free reign with sorting the pistol out for him.

I received the pistol and it was in a very sorry state. The barrel was loose, the mag was shot, the inners were worn, the seals were on their last legs and cosmetically it looked pretty rough.

I set to work restoring this pistol both internally and externally. The photos attached are the end result.

The owner was over the moon with the work that was done to it and suggested that I get onto some of the forums. The aim here is for some feedback from you guys and girls not only as shooters but also as airsoft weapon enthusiasts.

I would love to hear your comments and suggestions.

I hope to build a reputation as a "go to" for all things airsoft.

    Many thanks

    The Gunsmith.

For some reason I can't upload the "before" photos. Apparently they are to big!! If anybody has any suggestions or wants the before shots to stick on here on my behalf that would be fantastic.

    Sussed it.

Either a flash mag (uses a string that you pull on which is much better than a hicap) or a mid cap - which uses a speed loader and there is never any winding at all, all BB's are under spring pressure.

Mid caps are only about 90-130 rnds but they don't rattle like a hicap.

Yes, they are called mid-caps and low-caps.

Hi-caps usually hold around 420 rounds. These are the only ones that need winding.

Mid-caps usually hold around 120 rounds.

Low-caps usually hold around 30 rounds, same as what the real steel would hold.

However both low and mid caps require a bit more maintenance than high due to the spring mechanism, much easier and better than hi-caps in my opinion.

Because its an m4 you have a huge selection to choose from unlike me as I have a ump 45 and mags are very hard to get.

I've been shot way too many times when I didn't expected it, in safe zones or at home. At a game day first thing is to put my goggles on and I only take it off when I'm driving away at the end of the day.
Sometimes you can even surprise yourself with a well placed unintentional shot. For example the time I was building an 500 fps DMR and I put my finger in front of the muzzle to see if the air blows hard enough when I fire. There was still a BB in the hopup. Oh, fun times...

The son of a family friend just recently got locked up for 7 years for armed robbery. He was using an Airsoft gun. Complete bellend. His Dad is huge, I can't imagine what's going to happen to him when he's out. lol.

All these idiots are potentially ruining Airsoft for us legitimate players. If they carry on then we're going to end up with either bright coloured guns or none at all.
