  1. I'm sorry to hear that too. I had something similar when I stopped fixing other people's guns. I enjoyed it for some years but after getting entangled in it and having some really bad days, I questioned if I really wanted it. I still enjoying building guns but I didn't enjoy taking apart a crappy one the 20th time so I stopped doing that. Keep what you like leave what you don't. Maybe if you change your play style, it will be interesting and challenging again. Grab a bolt action rifle if you didn't already - something like that.
  2. And there is usually no reason to do so. Change the rubber and in case of an M4 fix it with a rubber patch between the body and the hopup. Except if it's a Boyi. Boyi hopups are often don't have the shaft exactly in the middle.
  3. It's also great if you don't know how to shoot and have no idea about moving under fire and have no intention to learn it instead you solve the problem with money. At least that's what I think when I see one.
  4. I would never be able to pay for solidworks and I have heard that when someone gets it "free" they can and will trace it and knock on the door with the invoice. I have tried the free and low budget CADs, and found the PTC Creo Elements to be exceptionally great. It's free and once you learn it, you can do everything a hobbyist needs. There are a lot of tutorial vids on their page and every tool has a help that's also good. For me it had a steep learning curve.
  5. Yes I know but we were talking about the Mp5. But even the Mp5k or pdw is fully upgradeable internally.
  6. ?? They have exactly the same v2 as the M4, except the trigger.
  7. Clean the barrel with rubbing alcohol on the cleaning rod, use quality 0.25 or 0.28 BBs and set the hopup and the sights properly. These can increase the range and accuracy dramatically.
  8. Hm. And this is why a shop should be really careful with choosing who represents it in public.
  9. I don't trust G&Ps. They look fine but the internals aren't very good. If you do buy it you should change the gears and the piston head.
  10. Welcome. Don't bother changing the stock IMO. It's a great basic gun. Use it until it breaks, and later upgrade to a cyma 048.
  11. Awesome review. The grip, the lack of rails and the flash hider are very disappointing and I think everyone will loose the stock's buttplate in about 10 seconds. The hopup the ambi selector are nice, but nothing special. There just can't be that much magic in the gearbox that is a standard v2 + fet + qd spring that would reason the price for me.
  12. An M4 platform is one of the worst choices for a DMR. It has the worst hopup. You can use the newer hopups with one wheel, but they are still greatly inferior to for example a standard M14 hopup. M14 is the bestest dmr, then the G3 is also great, SL8 if you like how it looks. Then maybe AKs types. The AS VAL and Vintorez are nice looking guns and should be fine as DMRs, but I never owned one of those. And then there are the less common ones. Aug, FN Fal, Galil, SVD, etc.
  13. I really like the hard case for the guns. But if you have to walk around with it, then a soft carry bag that you can put on your shoulders.
  14. I found that if I shout loud and tell people what to do instead of asking, they tend to listen. Just point at them and tell them what to do. Be specific about who you are giving the order, and about what to do. Instead of "we need cover" you can say "Want some action? We need to move this mortar, move with us and you cover that way, you cover that way...".
  15. Welcome. Last time I visited Elite Action Games, Dorking. It's a really good woodland site. How good is the Maidenhead site?
  16. I'm from Hungary and our saying goes, eat your carrot so you can whistle. That doesn't help me in the tunnels though.

    Shim Help

The bushings turning with the gears is bad. It will wear the gearbox because the bushings are steel and the GB is pot metal. Glue the bushings in with loctite or superglue.
  18. By not locking properly do you mean not lock at all, or it has a bit of resistance but it doesn't lock the piston back? The latter is called slam firing and means the piston sear is worn.

    Shim Help

It has to spin freely. If you have bushings, 2-3 spins, if you have bearings, then 5-10 full spins.
  20. Are you sure that's a pin? The TM mags have a blowoff valve somwhere there. Both TM and STTI mags can be taken apart. I've done both. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=88524&highlight=Coachster
  21. In two years the O rings can go dry. I would take it apart and give every rubber part a good silicone bath. edit: SeniorSpaz ninja'd me...
  22. As Sitting Duck said, it can go in flames when charging / overcharging or physical damage. It should be fine.
