Correct, rank is earned especially officer rank so people get a little touchy about wearing it. I think the whole beret thing has been explained sufficiently but I will add this - even if its not badged the maroon/green beret has wider connotations - nearly every other western nation has their Airborne with a maroon beret and commandos with a green, to wear it without earning it even if not badged is in my view disrespectful of the effort it takes to earn such an item as they are rightly held in high regard by the military.

Reenacting/WW2 airsoft is different. I would err on the side of caution and use something else.

Externally its superb. Second to none. Internally, whilst not terrible its certainly not the best. Again, as always on these forums, you can't go wrong with a G&G and the T4-18 Baz refers to is superb, if you can find one! It is also likely to be slightly cheaper than the VFC 416. The last option is the Tokyo Marui 416D or 416 Devgru (again if you can find one) they will be a lot more expensive. Personally I think they are over hyped but plenty of people will swear by them. TBH as a beginner, if you really want to buy your own gun, buy something that is reasonably priced that you like the look of and I can't recommend G&G enough for this.

Guys I seem to recall seeing someone with a TRMR somehow clipped onto their vest and their is a photo in this months Airsoft Action with someone with some kind of device that allowed it to be attached to a quick release buckle. Anyone got any ideas what they were using?
