Sent from phone) How long is an Angled Fore Grip (AFG)? Grateful if someone can measure overall length and let me know? (Fitting a rail to my AKS74U and considering one but not sure if one will fit). Cheers guys!

There is a feature on last Russian game with photos in current AI mag.

I think its only classed as a liqueur as its infused with maple flavour as opposed to the flavour coming from the cask, so technically it can't be classed as a bourbon, but effectively thats what it is. Jim Beam also do cherry and an apricot flavoured liqueur versions too. Bloody nice stuff though!

The 'What have you just got for Christmas' Thread
straffham replied to DX115FALCON's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Bought myself an early xmas present, a TAC Vector Optics real steel rail for my AKS74U GBB from Dedsec. Gonna take some fitting but fit it WILL lol! EDIT my better half hates Pandora thankfully lol! -
possibly, its very smooth neat though! Doesn't hit the throat as hard as some.

ARSE you beat me to it lol I'm more worried about whoever found "that" image of the guy with guns, as to what websites he was trawling,, kudos to him lol!

Currently chillaxing with a neat Jim Beam Maple Bourbon, lovely warm syruppy flavours, perfect for Christmas!

Happy Christmas to all, I'm also grateful to have some time off to spend with my kids as well as my girlfriend, not expecting anything airsoft related in my sack(!) but hoping to get on with a gun project over the next few days! All the best!

I realise OP has bought a DE but worth a mention is VFC do a Glock 17 with metal slide and trademarks, TM compatible internals for £99 at Firesupport, no idea what its like performance but sounds like it could be contender in the G17 market.

I have used this method and as Ian says it does stop them slipping, though it does take some careful marking to get them in exactly the right places otherwise the pads can end up moving sideways. I just provide loops for the bottom of the 2 straps (non elasticated one) so when kneeling the knee pad will be flat on the ground.

Firesupport do them £31, can't link but look under parts/receivers.

So I've been experimenting and quite pleased with result. Found an attachment which allows for a conventional sling hook, and also a plastic webbing clip if needed (tucks inside the stock when not needed) so gives quite a lot of flexibility. Basically it consists of a length of webbing fed through the original sling swivel, around the stock and locked tightly in place with a standard sling adjuster. The webbing loop with the sling mounts was simply threaded onto this.

can you not just send it back in the packing it came in (sealed up of course)?

I realised there were 2 spellings but never knew that. . . thanks for enlightening me! Also "Whisky" comes from the gaelic word "Uisge", "Uisge Beatha" meaning "water of life".

I do have an AK sling (old Classic Army one) which I will experiment with some more, what mainly put me off using it is the awful jingle bells metal clip onto the front gas block sling point, far too noisy. Tried electrical tape to silence it but it looked sh*t. Even tried heat shrink tubing but couldn't get it round the bends in the clip. That and the clip swings round scratching everything it touches. So some form of softer coated clip would be needed to use a 2 point sling, as well as getting a better fit around the stock which is my main concern.

+ 1 more for TM. Best for accuracy and performance ootb.

Thanks for the replies gents, I do kinda like the idea of some kind of webbing around the stock which my sling could attach to (I use a seperate sling rather than a vest mounted one), possibly using the original sling mount to anchor it and stop it rattling at the same time, but would need a loop fitting or some such to attach the sling itself, will have a rummage in my bits box.

Seem to be using lots of props at Alpha 55 lately, my favourite is a big red box of tricks which has to be carried into the enemy base (against a timer). It needs 2 people to carry it, and has toremain level while being carried or an alarm goes off giving away your position, plus it has then to be put on the ground until the alarm times out. If still alive you then pick it up and carry on . . . carriers can only use pistols too! So you need a good close protection squad! If you get pinned down then its almost impossible to beat the clock. A very hard game but good fun!

The Madbull Black Python range is popular and generally available, not everyone loves them but I've always found them to be very good. Also started using the ZCI stainless ones from ak2m4 on here, again found them very good and a real bargain price.

Yeah good one, guess that would do the trick, the steel is pretty thin tbh, though would obviously be a permanent change, albeit not a major one. Short of anything less permanent that could be the way forward.

Looking for ideas on fitting a single point sling to the steel folding stock, there is a sling loop on the right side of the stock (though it feels a little rattly & flimsy) but I want something on the left side so the gun will rest correctly at my right side if you get my drift. I realise this means I may not be able to fold the stock but thats not an issue for me. Anyone have any cunning ideas?

I've currently got a taste for JD Tennessee Honey for its slightly sweeter bite, but I do have a taste for a nice smooth single malt, Aldi currently have a couple of fine looking single malt Scotch's, an Islay and a Jura, so hoping to try one over the festive season.
