  1. Thanks EBR, luckily my remaining LiPo had survived storage so gave it a go over the weekend. Cycles fine, no problems with semi or full auto. Not got a chrono any more but it shot through both sides of a cereal box at ~25 feet so spring seems to be decent.

Had a bit of grief with feeding but this seems to be down to the hi-cap which came with it (or possibly my old ammo), really doesn't fit well, but this is just a design flaw.

  2. Hi, been out of things for ~5 years, finally getting around to selling the last of my stuff.

Any ideas how much my WE SCAR-L would be worth?

Body of it is is excellent condition, only used it a few times. Replaced the stock piston, motor, gears (includes originals), mosfet installed. Magpul grips, can't remember the brand rail covers. Two barrels included, one short one long, two flash hiders.

It would need a service, last time I used it worked fine iirc but that was over 5 years ago and it's been sitting in a box since then.

  3. No real reason not to get a bullpup as your first, although there's not as many good bullpups as regular AR's but still a decent selection.

They often do have some compromises to get used to though.

Type 98b by realsword is a fantastic gun but the battery setup is tricky to say the least.

F2000 is generally all round good but the trigger system has some slight issues.

TAR-21 (ares, not the sportline) has great external quality but the internals are....ares and so a bit shit.

There's several decent L85's out there.

TM and G&G P90's are very solid if you don't mind the tiny ergonomics.

Plenty of AUG's out there, they generally don't have fire selectors though, so two stage triggers limit where you can use it somewhat.

There's also the APS UAR, cheap and fairly well made. As long as you don't mind the fact there's no real steel version.

  4. Did you completely fill the mag with gas when testing it? Could be the last shot didn't fully cycle the slide due to low pressure, tried filling it up and then dry firing it?

  5. I agree it might be a marmite gun but its better than the tar. It at least looks in proportion all the way through if a little busy. The tar lines dont flow at all it looks weirdly deformed. It looks like it was designed by several designers who never agreed on anything.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but anybody who likes the tar should have gone to specsavers.

Ergonomically though the TAR is a brilliant bit of design, whereas the design of that thing doesn't even make sense, it's like the horribly deformed bastard child of 5 different guns.

The F2000 is again very well designed, even if it is way too fat.

  6. Thought they used M4 type hop up units?

Sadly not, it's quite a bit different. Don't think there's anyone else who uses a similar design

What dose the nozzle look like? Any nicks on it?

Nozzle is new, swapped out the stock one for an o-ring type.

By any chance, is this a SCAR H? Dboys?

    Nah, we scar l

BB weight and quality affects the accuracy the most. Next is hopup rubber. Purple prometheus, blue Madbull are good. Then the nub: don't use hard one. Then the FPS consistency. Then the barrel.

I use the same bb's and rubber type in my f2000 which is far more accurate the the scar :(

Using the nub which came with the g&g green which seems fairly soft, not had much to compare it to tbh. Reckon it's worth trying a madbull blue instead?

  7. Apologies in advance, it's another 'how does I make gun shoot straighter' topic.

I've done all the usual things and my SCAR's accuracy and range is still very much 'meh'. Doesn't curve in a particular direction, goes both left and right.

Tried 3 different barrels of various lengths, all cleaned with white spirit, madbull aluminium, stock WE and a ZCI 6.02 with a G&G green rubber & nub.

Air seal is excellent (rebuilt the gearbox and made sure it was airtight) and the barrel is stabilized with PTFE tape.

I'd love to change the hop unit but it's proprietary and as far as I know there are no others like it so that's a no-go.

Is there much else I can do other then trying out the various nub/rubber modifications?

  8. For long term storage (months of no use) you want to keep lipo's with a reasonable amount of charge in them, but not low or fully charged. They gradually lose a bit of power over time, so storing them nearly empty can kill them outright and fully charged can cause them to puff up. But otherwise just keep them disconnected in a non-conductive box.

Used to do RC racing, someone had a metal case full of NI-MH's that they had lined with electrical tape, the inevitable happened and one shorted out. Sounded like a bomb going off, tore the case apart!

  9. Annoyingly I want to get some stuff from TG (pp-19 maybe..) so need an actual UKARA number to stop my stuff from being burned/crushed/whatever customs do.

Guess I'll take my form with me next Sunday and get it stamped then send it off to Zeroone or whatever to get it added on, cheers!
