Theres quite a few of us around Bristol. Spartan airsoft up near the airport is a very good site and both Cribbs Causeway and Portishead Black ops are good.
With the current weather though, Bristol airsoft in the old magistrates court may be a good bet. I unfortunately am a bit short of cash as I get ready for a 2 day D Day game near Bridgend, so won't be going to any normal skirmishes for a few weeks.
If you fancied trying WW2 airsoft, its a 2 day game and it may still be possible to hire weapons and uniform http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=266&sid=c1954ff77f045f5411e44e88b0600af0
It's not very often that airsofters get use of a beach for an amphibious landing

I have heard of a good springer M1, but no-one has ever sold it in the UK. http://www.evike.com/products/44598/
    Evike will 2 tone though.

The problem is that Taiwangun don't 2 tone so that SVD is no use. Landwarrior have it on special http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/sniper-rifles-c47/asg-asg-dragunov-svd-spring-rifle-3-spare-magazines-p3747 but they charge for 2 toning.

I am also a big fan of the Sten

It's not the best gun in the world or anything but it did the job and was so simple to construct. It's pretty much the embodiment of British ingenuity. If your army loses all it's equipment in France, the Sten is the perfect sub machinegun to replace lost gear quickly. It's also a perfect weapon for resistance fighters due to it's simplicity and ability to use the same ammo as an MP40.

Have to agree with the SMLE.

Theres just something about having all that wood and steel. The way that the front of the rifle doesn't taper to just the barrel at the end like the K98 and other rifles of the era, just makes it look more rugged and the bolt it just so much easier to work than most rifles. The Bayonet for it just adds a huge fear factor

I can't wait 'til May when I can get replacement mags so Matilda can shoot again.

Welcome. A useful site for basics is http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk/shop/special-offers.html
Their deal of £25 for shirt, smock and trousers is a good way to get some camo gear and they do some nice cheap boots. Don't forget to get gloves a scarf (scrim scarf or shemagh) and a hat as hands, head and neck are the places it hurts most if you get shot.

My Xmas bonus is going to hopefully pay for one of these:

An airsoft Owen gun. I have someone making me one out of an ASG Sten. It will be a one of a kind airsoft gun

Webbing is always an option. No-one ever listens when I tell people this though
Webbing is basically a belt with shoulder straps and pouches that attach. It allows a fair degree of customisation. Tactical vests tend to allow faster access to stuff but in hot weather, webbing will not make you as hot. Webbing will generally hold a lot more than a tactical vest can. Some people have difficulty in adjusting webbing for a perfect fit and will tell you that it rubs and is uncomfortable but especially on hot days, I find my P37 webbing to be so comfy, I forget I'm wearing it.

Until I can afford to buy a pair of these from Australia

I use a pair of tan work boots which cost me £24 from Amazon. I also have DMS boots or S95 boots.

The law is a grey area. I would say that no, one skirmish doesn't prove a defence. I'm sure that if you did remove 2 tone, no-one would bat an eyelash though.
I personally removed the 2 tone from my 1st gun after 3 games. I was going every week at the time so it was a while before I got UKARA sorted.
