  1. http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/mk2-airborne-paratrooper-helmet-product,12195 best bet seems to be the Soldier of Fortune repro helmets (Mk1 or 2). Trousers are an issue as I am allergic to wool, I would have to either find denim battledress or something that just looks right. Realistically I would not need the tunic but it would be nice to have one in order to switch to a normal infantry loadout. http://onlinemilitaria.com/shopexd.asp?id=5206&bc=no
  2. It might be possible to modify a ZB26 http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152201772-ZB26-machinegun-replica.html
  3. I would love a Lee Enfield or SMLE or L42 sniper...actually the Bren gun looks good too....must win Lottery. The Marushin M1 carbine is another gun on my wish list or there's rumours of an AEG M1 with folding stock. For now though I am happy with my £100 Sten. It would be nice to have something semi auto I can use at my local indoor site though. Could be a cool gimmic for the next event after Shining light to turn up in WW2 gear though
  4. Any of the locations got water features? River crossings, bridge building under fire or amphibious landings would be really cool scenarios that would mark you out as different.
  5. The Loadout too far is getting there. The trousers are wrong but the general impression is there now. Each ammo pouch is capable of holding 6 Sten mags British pattern37 webbing is actually really comfortable and at £30 for the set I'm wearing is quite good value for money. For more info on this loadout see http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/19163-a-loadout-too-far/
  6. Consider themed airsoft as well. Theres a big WW2 airsoft community out there http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/ that way you can repeat a scenario by adding the ww2 twist and appeal to a different market without having to come up with anything new
  7. Anyone in the Bristol area going to Black ops or Spartan or any other site on Sunday and got room for 1 more in their car?

Hope to finally test my Loadout too far (British WW2 airbourne).

  8. Webbing has arrived. Just waiting for the small pack now. Capacity of each mag pouch is 6 sten mags. I only have 6 mags so I have a pouch spare atm. At this point Ian is going to ask for pictures, be patient Ian FFS! I may take the gear with me to work and get someone to photograph me in it, otherwise the plan is to get to an outdoor site and finally test the sten on Sunday. If anyone in the Bristol area is going to Spartan or Black ops on Sunday and can give me a lift...
  9. yay my P37 webbing has arrived :)

  10. Probably used Arnhem to test a load of stuff, body armour, Sterling sub machine guns... I mean, where better to test all your super secret inventions than miles behind enemy lines?
  11. My Sten gun sling arrived :) Actual WW2 vintage one for £6.50 inc P&P.

erm if its the way forward, why was it made in 1943 and my 1 point slings were made in 70 years later? :D

theres actually loads of em on ebay.

  12. Just been sat Blanco-ing the L straps and Gaiters. Couldn't work out which was the top of the L straps so had to find a diagram. Helpful Diagram: This is going to be sooo useful when I have to put it all together.
  13. My speedloader is complete but it seems the power needed to push BB's into a mag is more than the plastic allen key socket on the high cap can take. I can turn the allen key and BB's will come out of the nozzle on the high cap so the concept is sound. I'm not however interested enough to spend more than the £1 I have spent on this to get it working. If however someone wants an idea to compete with Elite Force feel free to steal this idea. You could even have a powerdrill attached to it for really fast reloads
  14. BTW they restocked the £100 stens are Landwarrior http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/BSA-STEN-MKII-AS16758B.html#.UuVVJdJFBrQ
  15. Was disappointed when you revealed a gun not a lightsaber For a quick release fastener, I would use a bow at the neck. Had you considered starching it so that when you take it off it becomes a decoy?
  16. What about Maggie? High iron content and not suitable for Minors
  17. Dammit! With the speed loader partly done and the mechanism glued together cos I lost the tiny screws, I have realised that if I had removed the anti reversal mechanism, it would have emptied the mags in a controlled way too.
  18. STEN is an acronym, from the names of the weapon's chief designers, Major Reginald V. Shepherd and Harold Turpin, and EN for Enfield. Wasn't Bo Derek in 10?
  19. I have given this some thought and am pretty sure my MP5 is called Michelle as M PFiver is similar to the actress so the M must stand for Michelle. I feel my Sten deserves a name, just not sure what yet. Any suggestions? Perhaps Sophie, Sophie Marceau is the only female using a Mk2 Sten in IMFDB.com
  20. Removed the helmet interior and glued in some foam. Helmet net and scrim arrived so added that. Just need to soak the scrim so it lays flatter and sort out a chin strap. Quite pleased with the result My smock makes a cameo appearance here
  21. Taking a break from scrimming my helmet ooeerr

  22. The smock is weird. It's made of duck cotton. It's a material I have only ever encountered in carradice saddle bags. Basically its very heavy duty cotton woven so tight that if it gets damp, the fibres swell and it becomes watertight. Essentially it does what modern breathable waterproof membranes do. It's also very stiff so I imagine bb's will not hurt much wearing it I wasn't sure at 1st but I soaked it in the bath to get rid of the smell of mothballs and the pockets didn't leak water, I had to turn the smock upside down to empty the pockets
  23. Pattern 1937: belt, cross straps, waterbottle and holder, Mk3 ammo pouches, entrenching tool cover and entrenching tool (without handle), small pack, L straps, sten gun sling. WW2 style British gaiters, green helmet net, scrim, liquid Blanco in 1944-45 green (its dye for webbing).
